Never a Dull Moment

When you’re settling in your workroom for 2x4 cutting, you’re likely steeling yourself for several hours of hard work with uncomfortable vibrations wearing out your arms. Thankfully, that kind of problem can be left in the past thanks to the best circular saw blades on the market, the Freud D1060X.

These blades have 6 expansion slots that, coupled with the Perma-SHIELD non-stick coating, help keep vibrations at bay. That way long-term work on particularly sturdy materials won’t leave your arms shaking. It’s practically a requirement for large projects at this point.

Now, in terms of cutting capabilities, this blade model can be used, at most, for cutting doors and other hard wooden materials. It’s not strong enough for ripping apart metal though it could, most likely, deal with plastic. However, the sections between the teeth tend to get filled with sawdust as you cut, which means you’d have similar problems with most plastic types as well.

The teeth themselves are carbide-tipped, which means they don’t dull fast and you can use this model for a long time before any sharpening is required. It’s certainly one of the best circular saw blades in that respect, especially since it’s backed up by a limited lifetime warranty.

All things considered, the Freud D1060X is great for long-term projects where you work with wood. It’s strong enough for cutting chipboard as well as hardwood and though it’s not a metal-slicing blade, the quality is still impeccable. This is a worthy investment for a worker that cares about his tools.

Blades of Steel

Working with metal means risking your equipment as particularly sturdy alloys can bend low-quality blades. You can, of course, avoid that issue easily by simply investing in a top-notch model such as the Evolution Power Tools RAGE255-TCT.

This blade is perfect for framing and cutting hard metals such as steel and aluminum and, of course, it simply eats through plastic and wood. The product is made of Japanese steel so it won’t bend or get damaged even if you run it for hours on metallic objects. Even the teeth here are high-grade carbide and won’t get chipped or dulled after long-term work.

However, make sure that the saw you use the Evolution Power Tools RAGE255-TCT with has a 3250 RPM max level. The blade can’t sustain anything above that and, if you plan on running it for a while, try to keep it at 3000 PRM. This might slow things down somewhat but not too substantially. Plus, make sure the blade fits your saw as it has 1” arbor, not the standard choice.

In the end, if you want a blade that slices through steel and doesn’t get deformed after heavy duty use, the Evolution Power Tools RAGE255-TCT is a worthy choice. It’s sturdy, efficient, and pretty reasonably priced for the kind of quality you get.

Point-Perfect Precision

Precision cutting isn’t always easy, especially when it comes to circular saws that do thousands of rotations per minute. However, you can try the DEWALT DW3106P5, which is perfect for careful cutting.

The tips of the blade are painted bright yellow so you can see how deep they’re sunk into the material. That way you can keep the cuts even and as shallow as you want, making engraving and framing possible. Plus, the computer-balanced plate guarantees that the cutting angle will always be the same no matter what.

Now, although the DEWALT DW3106P5 is intended for easily-cut materials such as plywood, MDF, and wood, it can still get dulled periodically. So make sure you have some sharpening equipment on hand or your work will be cut short.

Last but not least we have to point out that you get two blades in the pack - 32T and 60T. This is a very good cost-to-quality ratio and makes this a great option for those who work on versatile projects.

So, while the regular sharpening can get annoying, it’s only a mild nuisance. Meanwhile, the quality of the DEWALT DW3106P5 is amazing and it’s one of the best choices for precise cutting, especially if you want to do an even groove all along the piece of wood you’re working on.

Clean as a Whistle

Keeping your tools clean is essential if you want to be a master-level worker, especially since the cleaner your equipment is, the longer it will serve you. So it’s a good idea to invest in tools that don’t get dirty, losing their luster and quality. One such option is the Concord WCB0725T080HP.

The teeth here have a special shape and angle that keeps sawdust and other debris from getting trapped between them. This not only keeps the blade from being dulled but also means you can plunge it deep into hardwood without worrying about it being stuck. Plus, the titanium teeth with carbide tips don’t get hot even after lengthy work so you can handle the saw safely.

However, even though the blade is very sturdy and multi-purpose, it shouldn’t be used for rip-cutting. The unusual shape of the teeth will leave the slices choppy and far from acceptable otherwise. That’s just a single limitation, though, as pretty much any kind of work is still on the table.

While we wouldn’t have minded if the Concord WCB0725T080HP could be used for cutting metal, it’s one of the most reliable and easy-to-maintain blades for woodcutters. Its unique design makes it a viable choice for deep cuts and work that would stump most other blade models.

Diamonds are Forever

We all know that diamonds are as sharp as anything else and many of us have seen those scenes from movies where the thickest glass is sliced right through by a diamond. So we definitely recommend giving a try to the DEWALT DW4725.

This blade is made of high-performance diamond matrix and it’s thus one of the sturdiest options out there. Firstly, it can sustainably work at up to 13300 RPM, boosting your cutting speed by a factor of two and more. Secondly, it’s one of the few blades that you can safely use for slicing through concrete and masonry. That’s not something you can do with cheap knockoff blades made of weak steel.

Now, admittedly, the material requires some concessions. Namely, the blade should be used for wet cutting as dry cutting might do damage to the blade and dull it quickly. Still, it’s worth it because using the DEWALT DW4725 guarantees that even when you cut brick - it won’t crumble and chip. If precision is key for you, the diamond blade is worth the investment.

So, if you want diamond-level quality (literally), the DEWALT DW4725 is worth the asking price. It’s great for heavy duty work and offers the kind of cutting you can’t get anywhere else. If you want to slice through brick like a piece of paper, there are few alternatives as good as the DEWALT DW4725.

What Is a Circular Saw Blade?

When you imagine a saw, the first thing that comes to mind is a sharp all-purpose blade slicing right through hardwood, metal, and any other materials. And while there are many saw types out there, circular saws are still one of the leading choices and blades for them are a great choice for cutting steel, metal roofing, oak, plastic, melamine, and pretty much anything you might want to slice. Their sharp edges, depending on the model purchased, can go through a hardwood table in a matter of seconds and the high-end models can easily tear apart laminate flooring and steel, perfect for metal cutting.

There’s also the question of cutting width with larger blades obviously good for cutting MDF boards that are big and would take a lot of time otherwise. Meanwhile, small blades, while not always compatible with the saw you have, are great for precise work so you can use them to slice more complicated shapes out of particle board.

While you’re looking for metal cutting tools, consider buying multi purpose table saws and, of course, you’re not going to get much out of the best circular saw blades without a circular saw to go along with them.
