The Best Robot Vacuum
While we were really impressed with the Roomba i7+ that can get your floors perfectly clean picking up dirt and crumbs in every nook and cranny and then empty its own dustbin, the latest Roomba’s model proves there are no limits to perfection. Put in a new shape, this model is endowed with everything people loved about the i7+ plus it’s been fitted with multiple sensors and intelligent navigation that allow it to literally learn the layout of your house. The only thing you will need to do with this robot vacuum is to replace its vacuum bags once they get full. Other than that, the s9+ needs very little help. Naturally, intelligence can’t be cheap, but if you’re on the hunt of a really high tech robot vacuum, the price of this model seems pretty reasonable.
Starting with the design, the Roomba s9+ looks very good-looking. It sports a bright copper-like lid that complements the Clean Base and has a sleek profile. Also, it's quite small, measuring 3.5 inches in height and 12.3 inches in dia which along with the new PerfectEdge Edge technology allows it to reach all nooks and crannies and get closer to the edges and corners. In addition to that, the Roomba s9+ changes colors showing you what exactly it's doing - cleaning, returning to the base or alerting you to some error. This feature not only adds visual appeal to it but also is very useful since you can notice at a glance when the vac needs your help.
Top-notch Performance
Turning to the performance, the s9+ is a real beauty too. It features two extra-large rubber green rollers on its bottom and has a redesigned brush positioned at a 26-degree angle that allows it to better grab crumbs and other debris from remote corners, complicated edges, and tight spots. It also has a very strong suction power. Compared to the +7, it’s been pumped up to four times so the vacuum can complete some of the best cleaning jobs without breaking a sweat.
All the dirt, dust bunnies, and stray hairs are collected into the Clean Base which can hold about 30 cleanings of dirt and when it’s full, the vac alerts you with a message in the respective app that it’s time to replace it with a new one. Due to its sleeker profile, the s9+ can easily wiggle its way around furniture and avoid collisions with obstacles and when it’s done cleaning, it immediately heads to its ChargeBase to empty its dustbin, making the whole cleaning process completely hands-free. So, with no manual labour at all, you'll get all your floors sparkling clean.
Finally, the s9+ has a very capacious battery that can last up to two hours in a row and a new smart feature. The latter is a really great update as it can sense when the battery runs low and estimate how much power it needs to finish the cleaning job; so it charges only for that long, thus, completing the cycle quicker.
To conclude, if you’re looking for a really strong and autonomous robot cleaner that can do all the cleaning work for you providing you with hands-free experience, for now, there’s no better model than the s9+.

Rich Functionality
Robot vacuum cleaners, especially those from Roomba, are often expected to have a rich set of features that fully automate the cleaning process, making housework much less intensive for the owner. With the iRobot Roomba i7 (7150) Robot Vacuum, this is exactly what you get. This robot vacuum comes with a rich set of features that is sure to delight any homeowner, making not only their own housework much less intensive, but the use of this device as well. Operation of this unit is about as simple as it can possibly get, especially when paired with a voice assistant like Alexa or Google Assistant. Once the device has been set up and programmed, you can have the vacuum clean a certain area just by saying "Roomba, clean the kitchen", and the device will automatically start up and get to work with cleaning the specified area. You simply can't make operation any easier than that!
Speaking of setting up the unit, this is quite easy, especially when using the iRobot HOME app on your smartphone. With this app, you can set the schedule of cleaning for when you want the device to automatically work, as well as program any of the other number of features that are built-in to the device, and you won't have to worry about it afterwards.
Only Cleans Where You Want
One of the great features built-in to this robot vacuum is the Keep Out Zones, which lets you specify certain areas of the house where you do not want the vacuum to go. Once the vacuum has been able to make a map of your home, you can specify any room or area that will be off-limits to the vacuum, and you won't have to worry about the vacuum going there. This is great for a wide number of purposes, especially if there are rooms where the vacuum may get stuck or encounter harmful obstacles, of rooms where young children are sleeping. You won't have to worry about the vacuum wandering recklessly into an area it shouldn't go.
As for the cleaning performance of this unit, there is nothing to complain about. This unit features strong suctioning power that delivers outstanding cleaning performance on any number of types of flooring, including carpets, tiles, parquet, and many others. The built-in Dirt Detect™ sensors can detect any type of dirt or debris and pay special attention to cleaning areas where it is found, ensuring that this vacuum leaves your floors spotless. If there are any negatives here, it would be in the noisy operation of this unit, but that is hard to avoid with any vacuum. All in all, the exceptional cleaning performance of this unit coupled with the extremely convenient features it offers will make any homeowner happy.

Impressive Cleaning Performance
The Roomba E5 (5150) Robot Vacuum is one of the newest releases by the company. It's oriented at the largest segment of customers, so it's quite powerful, smart, and reasonably-priced. Also, it definitely falls into the "easy to use" category with only three buttons at the top. The largest button is the clean button that serves as a power button as well as an automatic cleaning mode button. The nearby buttons stand for home and spot cleaning. By pressing the home button, the robot will return back to the charging base, while the spot cleaning button sets the Roomba E5 to work in spot cleaning.
Other than that, the Roomba 5150 doesn't offer a lot of extra features, but still, there are a few that will certainly be of use to most customers. For example, you can download the iRobot smartphone app and set a day/week schedule, send the robot to its charging base via the app, put it into spot cleaning mode, or send it for a one-time cleaning.
Upgraded Filtering System
By default, this vacuum's additional tools actually don't differ that much from usual packages. It comes with a standard charging base, North American power cord, owner’s guide, and documentation. However, you can get an extended package with the Virtual wall. The said wall acts as a barrier to help you block the Roomba E5 off from unwanted areas with pet bowls and similar things. The linear line can be extended up to 10′, while the radial one reaches 4′ in diameter. This is a great feature that helps save the nerve of pets who are scared of vacuums, or for keeping the vacuum from entering a tricky area where it is likely to get stuck.

Self-Emptying Dustbin
Would you like to get a smart vac that does all the dirty work for you and also limits your exposure to dust without costing you a fortune? If so, make sure to check out the iRomot i315020 Roomba. This model comes at half the price of a typical robot vacuum cleaner but has all of the features, including a self-emptying dustbin, that make its use as easy and enjoyable as possible.
Starting with performance, the iRomot i315020 Roomba features a Premium 3-Stage Cleaning System and boasts 10x the power lifting suction, which allows it to effortlessly suck in dirt, debris, and pollen. It can even learn the layout of your home and create an Imprint Smart Map so you can send it to clean on schedule or at any particular moment - and in any room you want.
Similarly to high-end robot vacs that cost around $1,000, the iRomot i315020 uses the Patented Dirt Detect Technology, too. Thanks to this, the vac can automatcaly detect the dirtiest spots of your place and clean them more thoroughly. How about its navigation abilties? They are top-notch. The unit is featured with integrated sensors that tell it exactly where it can fit in and where it cannot so it can bypass obstacles and not get stuck underneath your sofa or other furniture.
Nifty Features
Are you a pet owner? That's totally fine, as the Roomba i3 EVO is perfectly suitable for homes with pets. It has dual multi-surface rubber brushes that won't get tangled in hair like the single brish models, allowing you to thoroughly clean hard floors and carpets alike.
The good news for owners of smart homes is that the Roomba i3 EVO supports Google Home and Alexa. So if you're used to controlling your devices by voice, this vac will fit in your home system just perfectly.
Could it get any better? As you can already see, the Roomba i3 EVO offers a really great value for the money. It is able to thoroughly clean your floors, navigating around the furniture and stairs, and can clean rooms on a set schedule. It can also learn your home and even cleaning habits. After some time of being with you, the vac will recognize the peak time for dirt or dander and come up with suggestions when it's best to run an extra cleaning.
Turning to downsides, it's worth noting that the vac has a rather average battery life compared to its more expensive siblings. However, if this isn't a deal breaker for you, there's little else to dislike about the i3 EVO.
If you're on the lookout for a smart robot vac that won't drill the hole in your wallet, the i3 EVO won't disappoint.

Affordable and Automated
The Roomba Robot Vacuums have been around for a while now, first making a splash a few years ago when they burst onto the scene. However, people quickly discovered that these automated vacuums had some shortcomings, namely in price. Having an automated vacuum cleaner was an expensive proposition, with most models costing hundreds of dollars, putting them out of the range of many families. However, since those early days, the prices have come down to a more affordable range.
The iRobot Roomba 675 Robot Vacuum is a great example of an automated vacuum cleaner that is affordable for most families. Featuring a three-stage cleaning system along with dual multi-surface brushes, this small but powerful vacuum cleaner is able to clean a house with little trouble at all. Even the toughest dirt and hair can be easily cleaned up, as this vacuum cleaner packs a lot of power in its small size. As is the same with the other Roomba models, this vacuum can be automated with a schedule that can be set through the iRobot HOME app, letting you schedule a cleaning for certain days and at specific times. The included battery power is more than sufficient for letting it cover a home, as it can run for up to 90 minutes on a full charge.
Works Wonders in Your Home
This automated vacuum includes plenty of features that give it the ability to do a thorough cleaning. The vacuum includes Roomba's patented Dirt Detector sensors, which let the vacuum detect the dirtiest parts of your floor or carpet, and it will spend extra time on those areas to ensure they get a thorough cleaning. The included intelligent sensors let the vacuum easily move around obstacles in your home, as well as moving underneath furniture. However, these sensors are also able to detect when furniture has too low of a clearance for it to safely pass under, so there is no need to worry about it getting stuck.
Also included in this incredible vacuum is an edge sweeping brush that ensures a good cleaning along the edges of the wall and furniture. The 27 degree angle of this brush gives it the ability to sweep away dirt and dust from the edges without leaving any behind. The vacuum also includes many of the other features expected of Roomba Robot Vacuums, including WiFi connectivity, the auto-adjust cleaning head, and the ability to work on almost any type of surface, including hardwood and tile floors. Such capabilities packed into a powerful yet affordable vacuum cleaner make it one of the best values on the market.

What Is an iRobot Roomba Robot Vacuum?
Want to keep your home spotless without having to crawl on your hands and knees to get to the fur or pet hair stuck under your couch or armchair? Here's the solution - an iRobot Roomba robot vacuum, a smart cleaner that will do the cleaning job for you. Many robotic cleaners can be programmed to switch on at a specific time on certain days of the week, in order to do the cleaning automatically without your supervision. Some of them have Wi-Fi connectivity and can be paired with a smartphone allowing you to control the cleaner remotely and view the progress of cleaning.
Compact and lightweight, Roomba cleaners can get into all those nooks and crannies of your house to keep it sparklingly clean. You will no longer need to spend your time on scrubbing carpets and dusting. The iRobot Roomba robot vacuum will keep dust and allergies at bay. It works for all floors and carpets and it won't miss a thing.
If you think you need an appliance for wet cleaning too, our steam mops reviews should come in handy. And if you plan a spring cleaning in your yard, consider purchasing a robotic lawn mower.
What Features to Compare
Compatibility with Apps and Gadgets
Thanks to numerous technological advancements, now it's become possible to guide a vacuum cleaner around the living room or any other room, set up a weekly schedule, and watch the progress of cleaning on the screen of a smartphone or any other digital gadget you use. For that, you will only need to download a Google Assistant or an Amazon Alexa, depending on the software that your gadget is compatible with. Older models, though, would come with remote controls and more basic setup options.
Cleaning Efficiency
Check what kind of brushes the chosen model of iRobot vac cleaner comes fitted with, to see whether it meets your cleaning needs. Some models are best suited for carpets, some are designed to be used on hardwood floors, while there are also those that could be used on all types of flooring, making them a universal solution. Many newer models can prioritize cleaning and detect even the tiniest specks of dirt and dust. And if you have a pet, we'd recommend you to look towards Roomba vacs that boast a strong aeroforce system giving them enough power to suck up fur clumps and dander.
Sensors
Good sensors are crucial since they not only allow the cleaner to accurately avoid obstacles on the way but also enable it to create a detailed map of your house to optimize every cleanup. Some newer vacs are able to detect those zones of your house that tend to get dirty more often than the rest and focus on them. On top of that, they are able to scan the room in order to detect tiny hair and dust that could have got caught in furniture or carpets. If there aren't enough sensors in the vac or they are weak, a vacuum cleaner will struggle to handle a large area and will most likely drive continuously over the same route until it runs out of power.
Programming
As you've made a decision to buy a Roomba, it makes sense to opt for a model that requires little to none programming, making your cleanups a breeze. Some of the newer models will only require you to set up when to power them on, while others might need you to set up some other parameters such as a flooring type, the size of your house, the preferable time (day, week etc) of cleanup.
Runtime
Even though most modern models are programmed to recharge automatically, the process still takes some time. Which is why it makes sense to check how long one charge requires, to make sure you're not going to wait for it a whole day. Also, it'd be sensible to check how big area you have to clean before investing in a vac featuring the longest runtime. If your place is not that big, there's no reason to pay more. The time which is considered standard and optimal for most robotic cleaners is 2 hours.
Did you know?
Robotic vacuum cleaners have become so commonplace that most people don’t give a second thought now to how these appliances do all that whirling in corners of the room to keep it so neat and tidy. But when you actually stop and think about it, robotic cleaners are an amazing invention, utilizing cutting-edge technology to keep us lazies happy and satisfied. How did it all begin? How long have these tiny helpers been around the US households? Let’s take a look.
A Company Is Born
Back in the distant past or, to be precise, in 1990 (almost 30 years ago now!), three MIT alumni with a passion for robotics got together and, in a daring bid for success, launched iRobot. The names of these three geniuses were Colin Angle, Helen Greiner, and Rodney Brooks and their business was, initially, aimed at creating military robots with a sparse line-up of domestic machines being developed slowly as well. Starting out with 3 bright minds, they went a long way and, these days, the company employs several hundred people.
More Than Ten Years of Protecting the Troops
The first breakthrough made by Angle, Greiner, and Brooks was Ariel. The cute name might deceive you but the device wasn’t some pool cleaning gadget. Developed via Genghis, a test platform for researchers with a strong interest in robotics, Ariel was a specialized system for mine removal, both on land and sea (do you see where the name comes from now?). The system went wide in 1996, scooped up by the military to protect the US soldiers abroad in combat situations. This brought the company renown and considerable funds, prompting them to keep growing and inventing.
Tiny in Size, Huge in Innovation
Now, as the 20th century ended and we turned over into the 21st, the company decided to branch out further into domestic products, finally offering a true home robot. In 2002, having spent a decade helping out the military, the company introduced the Roomba, a name that, in the following years, has grown to be instantly recognizable. The autonomous vacuum was a bold move, offering innovative programming to optimize cleanup and make the life of every homeowner easier. Interestingly enough, this was not actually the first robovacuum on the market with an Electrolux model introduced a year earlier. That one, however, failed to catch on, lacking the excellent programming and suction power of the iRobot product.
In just two years, a million units were sold all over the United States, the new gadget storming the market. It’s important to remember that Roombas aren’t exactly cheap and don’t fall into the “impulse buy” category, the customers thought long and hard but just couldn’t resist the pull of a hands-off cleanup.
And the Development Continues
More than 15 years later, the company shows no signs of stopping, having introduced multiple offshoots of the iconic cleaner such as the Scooba, the Dirt Dog, the Looj, and the Verro. With such innovative hits as the iRobot Roomba 980 robot vacuum, who’d even think of slowing down? Making lucrative offers to the current genius minds, merging with the competition, iRobot is not about to stop innovating. From the older 665 and 880 to the brand new 900-series, the Roombas are keeping households immaculate all over the world as well as giving your cats a fun vehicle to ride.
