Brother HL-L2380DW
A Brother in Arms
In today's society, you'd be hard-pressed to perplex somebody with an idea of a huge corporation. In the modern world, they have been turned into a norm and were forced to leave the concept of astonishing people with their size and power to conglomerates and consortiums. Some of the brands representing these associations of companies managed to become so excessively prominent in such a large variety of fields that their names can be associated with virtually any type of product and service. Obviously, putting your trust into one of them isn't necessarily always a bad idea since they generally tend to guarantee a certain kind of quality of whatever it is their brand is dealing in. But, of course, the majority of people would still rather go with a smaller company that is known as a manufacturer of very certain types of products or is notorious for providing a specific kind of service. Brother Industries, an electronics company based in Japan, would be a great example of that. While they aren't necessarily known outside of certain branches of the tech industry, there are very few companies that could rival their reputation in the world of printers and similar devices. Having been in the printer industry for over 50 years, they have managed to make a name for themselves as one of the premier developers of the aforementioned products. So when we got our eyes on the Brother HL-L2380DW, a wireless printer from the very same company, we knew this isn't going to be the kind of model that would end up disappointing the customers.
Saves You Time and Money
One of the best qualities of this product is its overall dimensions. With 10.5 inches in height, 16.1 inches in width and 15.7 inches in depth, this model fits perfectly on your desk which makes it a great choice for small offices as well as a great piece of equipment for personal use. The device is capable of reaching the speed of up to 32 pages per minute thus saving you a considerable amount of time to pursue other tasks. An automatic duplex printing feature will prove invaluable in cutting down paper consumption and the use of high-yield replacement toner cartridges is going to help you save some money.
The model gives you an array of options for connecting to Android, Apple or any other mobile device using AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, Brother iPrint & Scan, Cortado Workplace, and Wi-Fi Direct. It also comes with a bundle of pre-installed software that you can access through the 2.7” touchScreen display.
More Multiple Than Single
Although the device is capable of scanning and copying, the Brother HL-L2380DW is listed in the category of single-function printers on the companies' website. The main reason for that would probably be the absence of an automatic document feeder thus restricting its copying and scanning capabilities with the inconvenience of having to manually place pages on its flatbed. Semantics aside, whether you think this minor issue is enough to warrant the title of a single-function printer or not, this is undoubtedly an item worth checking out.

Epson WF-2760
High Quality at High Speed
The Epson WorkForce WF-2760 all-in-one wireless printer is a very versatile printing device, which offers the features of documents scanning, copying and faxing. Usually, such versatility comes at the price of speed and performance but it is definitely not the case for the WF-2760 wireless printer. The high performance of this wireless printer was made possible by the implementation of the PrecisionCore technology. This new technology makes use of a revolutionary high-density print chip that is capable of generating up to 40 million precise dots per second with stunning accuracy, thus producing images of professional quality at lightning speeds. As the manufacturer states, the innovative PrecisionCore Micro TFP (Thin film) printing chip by Epson underlies the PrecisionCore technology. Performance-wise the new iteration of the printing chip exceeds its predecessor the Epson MicroPiezo TFP, which has been used in large-format printer devices only. However after a large-scale research and laboratory testing the company decided to start implementing the Epson PrecisionCore Micro TFP into all tiers of Epson products starting from large-format commercial printers to office models.
A Few Interesting Facts About the Company
At the first glance, there is nothing of particular interest in the history of a company known all over the world as a printer manufacturer. To start with, the Epson company emerged 72 years ago and at the beginning specialized in clock works production. Truth be told at that time the company bore the Daiwa Kogyo Ltd name. It is worth noticing also that the Suwa city, which the company was founded in, still remains the Epson headquarters. In 1962 some of the company personnel was engaged in time tracking at Tokyo Olympic Games. Right after the completion of the Olympics the results of Epson’s corresponding research and development were implemented and the world saw a first mini-printer, which was called ЕР-101. Almost five years of hard work have yielded amazing results. The new printer came out to be much more lightweight than any other available on the market then. In fact, the creation of the first mini-printer gave the company a new name - Epson. Ep-son or the son (offspring) of the well-known original EP printer. In 1993 the Epson Stylus 800 model was trialed by space. This Epson printer was sent to outer space on the board of Discovery spaceship. Summing up our short retrospective journey into history we would like to mention that the Epson company got into the Guinness book of records. It happened in 1993. That was the year of creation of the smallest robot. The micro robot was called Epson Monsieur. As for today, the Epson brand has been enjoying the title of the world leader in projector apparatuses manufacture and sales for several years already. That is why the company maintains two main lines of production. Along with the wired and wireless printers, the Epson company produces optical projectors and 3LCD matrices used in the most projectors by other vendors. What Is a Wireless Printer?
Wireless printers are, in essence, ordinary printers, but furnished with various wireless interfaces for maintaining a cordless connection to the data sources. Wireless printers are equipped with such commonly used wireless interfaces as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabling their use as network devices, though a standard USB connection as an alternative is present in most cases. The wireless connection has such advantages as space saving, ability to place printer remotely from a PC/notebook, and ability to restrict access to a printer for security or other reasons. These devices have a wide sphere of application: home, office, studio, laboratory, various educational establishments, etc.
Being similar to ordinary wired printers, wireless printers implement different printing technologies, in other words, they can be of inkjet or laser type. Wireless inkjet printers and wireless laser printers in their turn fall into black and white, and color printers depending on their ability to print color images.
Moreover, modern technologies advancement while enabling tight integration of various devices result in the creation of so-called multifunctional devices (MFD) or multifunctional printers (MFP), which are comprised of scanner and printer units in a single device. These all-in-one wireless printers are capable of scanning and printing out any image requiring a user to perform just a few clicks.
What Features to Compare
As the name states, the printers are intended, first of all, for printing, thus, we need to consider the printing capabilities as the most important feature. Type and versatility determine the technology of printing that a specific wireless printer uses-inkjet or laser, monochrome or color printing. As a rule, laser wireless printers have a lower cost of operation due to lower cost of the toner in comparison with ink. Type and versatility specifications also provide information about the number of cartridges or imaging drums that are used by the specific wireless laser printer or inkjet. One should remember that modern devices are highly integrated, thus, a wireless printer can comprise a scanner and a fax. This feature determines the availability of integrated scanner in a printer device and its ability to perform scanning, printing and copying of text or images without connecting it to an external device such as PC, notebook or tablet PC.
The other thing to look for is Printer/scanner parameters. These parameters directly affect printer and scanner (in an all-in-one solution) performance, such as a printing/scanning resolution, a printing speed (usually measured in pages per minute) according to ISO or another standard. If a device has an integrated fax, its scanning resolution and memory capacity are included in Printer/scanner parameters.
The printing requires consumables, determined by the printing technology. Thus, color printing requires ink or toners of different colors (usually, Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow for inkjet printers) while monochrome printing requires only one. In any case, a wireless printer consumes a toner or ink when printing, which brings us to the third important feature - Cartridge yield/Tray capacity. This parameter depends on the type of data being printed: a plain text page with standard borders and formatting settings results in about 5% of page surface filling with an ink/toner while tables and photos printing require up to 100% filling. That is why the Cartridge yield/Tray capacity is influenced not only by the type of cartridge used but also by the type of data sent to printing. Every wireless printer has an input paper tray, most of the printers also have an output tray.
Modern wifi printers are quite complex devices, thus, they offer many additional options. Such options or Extras that one should consider can be both of hardware and software types. On the hardware side, wireless printers can provide users with advanced capabilities in a standalone mode, Ethernet connection, support for printing from USB-flash or memory card, etc. On the software side, Extras offer any advanced functionality: proprietary image scanning/editing features, optical character recognition for the scanned images, data saving and transferring features, etc.
