- Have this on my small boat, works just like it’s big brother..
- I've been using this gps for a couple months now. Works great! Wish I could find a video or instructions on how to use the mapping
- A very good fish finder with excellent structure scan, I just don't understand why they don't include a way to use it as a chart plotter (it does have active GPS).
- Worked great for our needs of scalloping
- Unit is ok, provides good depth and other info, but I have yet to see ANYTHING that even comes close to resembling a fish.
- I needed something quick and easy to latch onto my kayak, and I had ordered this. Definitely worth it! The instructions were clear and assembling was easy!
- We fish on a massive reservoir with lots of inlets and places to get lost. We can go about our business and find our way back to the boat launch with no problem. Also tells us where the fishies are :)
- Excellent machine have no problems locating under water structures. Very pleased
- The detail is amazing and images clear. Plus I love the ability to have the CHIRP and Down View side by side.
- Works great, lots of information. I like that you can set waypoints. Easy to install
- This is a huge advantage in lake trout fishing. You can skirt underwater structure, and get your lure in the "Strike Zone" consistently. I wish I had bought this years ago.
- Once you have made a few passes and have a map made up, you can fallow the same route along edges and ledges and it is accurate to a few feet.
- Near photographic images of what passes below your boat??? NOT EVEN CLOSE.
- I really like being able to customize any screen. I marked spots and caught fish and was able to return to that same spot later that day and catch more fish!!
- I like the product. It worked as I expected. Nice clear screens. I just wish there were clear, easy instructions on how to use the Waypoint feature on this model.
- Great gift for my husband. He uses it on his bass boat and loves how clear the screen is and how easy it is to use.
- The 5DV also lets you create custom screens so you can see what you want. This is only if you use the sonar, there is only one GPS display; you can't display the "plotter" and the waypoint list on a custom screen.
- Very nice! Easy to see on a sunny day. Just need to see instructions online that is all.
- Only reason for not giving 5 stars is that I'm not sure of the way-point navigation yet. If that shapes up well, I'll upgrade to 5 stars.
- Good product took some time for GPS line to show up but was able to return to our start location when we were done.
- This fit my needs like a glove. This unit is easy to use, I have yet to have to read the online manual to do or adjust anything.
- Did not come with what it said it would have.. returned it
- The only draw back is that it will not keep a depth reading at speeds above 15 MPH, which would be great for mapping. But is steady, rock solid at trolling speeds.
- The only issue is the documentation is online and not included except for a quick guide.
- Also, the unit is waterproof. Got pounded by rain and it kept on working fine!
- The 5DV does sort its waypoint list alphabetically, by distance, and (sort or filter) by icon. This is a handy feature, I wouldn't buy a GPS without it.
- The installation instructions consist of a small drawing on one page which shows multiple mount options. only..... there are 4 wires to the power cable , red, blk, blu brn.. there are NO directions on where they connect.. NONE!
- No instructions included. Had to use youtube to figure it out. Otherwise works great.
