- Very secure window mount, easy installation overall.
- The only improvement this could use is more cord mounts. The front+rear kit only comes with the same five cord hangers as the front kit, and it would be more convenient to have another five for the rear.
- I wanted to be able to read license plate numbers. I assumed high resolution would enable me to do that after looking at countless views from Thinkware posters on YouTube. The files are 1080p and are very crisp and clear.
- I bought the F770 with hard-wire kit and rear camera. I was attracted to this unit by the comparatively rare permutation of wide viewing angle, front & rear recording in higher resolutions, HDR, and because I live in AZ a higher-end thermal specification.
- Ok, so maybe the Thinkware isn’t stylish, but it is cool looking. It isn’t bulky or obtrusive.
- Be careful when you install the rear camera because I did it upside down and now I can't remove it because it's glued to the window.
- Wanted to buy one with the screen, I had X500 and saved me once in an accident. Really like video qualities and time lapse
- Easy to install and display can be used as a rear view camera of sorts. Good bang for the buck, will definitely recommend to my friends!
- Very solidly built and excellent design - made in korea and uses a super capacitor plus overheat protection means it should last years to come !
- It does not have a suction cup for mounting. The mounting is done with an adhesive pad with a mount attached.
- Video quality is quite good, including at night.
- Video quality exceeds my expectations in day and night even though with my front and rear positioning the camera has to look through a headline tint (front) and after-market applied tint (rear).
- The video quality of both the front and rear cameras far outshine that of my Department's very expensive Arbitrator Dash Cam units for our police fleet.
- Great video recording, even at night and the lane warnings in bad rain storms.
- The video quality is decent, but not stellar. License plates at a stop light are easy to read, but not in traffic.
- It has great night enhancement, so good that the pictures look like they were taken during the day.
- The image quality of thinkware x550 is far superior. The night vision is superb.
- Impressed with the video quality and user friendliness of this camera.
- Very good picture quality on both front and back camera ( they both use the same Sony sensor )
- Although video footage both day and night is very good, its not class leading. but this camera isn't class leading prices !
- Records to both internal memory + SD card, reducing chance of data loss.
- The Thinkware has parking mode that wakes on motion and/or impact as well as takes time lapse pictures. I’m not a fan of the time-lapse feature, but do like to have it wake on motion near my car.
- The WiFi connection and parking mode were bonus features which did not factor into my search.
- Otherwise: quality is excellent, installation is super fast, and the features are unbeatable.
- Voice prompts and boot sounds are not configurable (eg, I don't care when the GPS is connected minutes after I start driving, but you can't disable that notification).
- Not intuitive, hard to reach buttons (I have to move mirror out of the way to find a button I need to press)
- The X550 features a Road Safety Warning System which to quote the manufacturer “It detects road markings and alerts the driver with voice warning in case the vehicle begins to stray from its intended lane or runs into a risk of an imminent crash.
- The thinkware x550 mode parking is the best I've seen. The detection of the gps is very fast compared to the other dash cam.
- The most important thing I noticed is the dashcam is very energy efficient
- Very easy to navigate around the options and set it up to your preference
- The documentation that comes with the camera is very poor. It is contained on the micro-chip that comes with the camera.
