- The sound quality and channel separation are outstanding. It does everything! And very easy to set-up!
- The power is rated 95 watts per channel and it seems to be about right.
- It all comes down to clean sound at appropriate levels, and this will allow you to play things loud enough without distortion.
- This is the third Onkyo receiver I have owned. I purchased it on the basis of the rock solid performance and dependability of the previous two I own, both of which still work flawlessly.
- Its so loud it will run you outta the room. The speakers will start to break up and distort like crazy.
- Gets really loud and clear. Cant hear any distortion at high volume. It has very good channel separation.
- The NR 646 has a rating of 0.08 at 100 Watts which compares well with other units in its price range.
- The sound is awesome with no distortion. There is no real heat to speak of with previous Onkyo products.
- The distortion at moderately loud volumes is wholly unacceptable.
- Works great. More than adequate. I had to buy new receiver to accommodate my new 4K TV.
- Has any easy to use App that I primarily use on my phone to control the unit. Happy overall.
- The iOS app for the receiver has been very handy. We have our equipment out of sight in a closet and so it would have been a hassle to use the IR remote control.
- The app works perfectly with my iPhone to control the receiver Luke selecting inputs, controlling volume, and sound settings, etc.
- Excellent unit. Great app lets me play my music directly from my NAS. Excellent sound both music and for my home theater. Setup is a little complicated but really not bad.
- The Android app itself consumes lots of data and power when streaming to it.
- I love the smartphone app over WiFi to control the unit, works great, can control receiver from pool and backyard.
- It handles excellent with your smartphone whether they are streaming music or the onkyo App itself.
- Onkyo phone app helps greatly and the zone 2 is awewesome, able to listen to separate components.
- Also love its apps to stream music online. Works very well on wifi and ethernet.
- Connecting with the Onkyo android app is bad. Permanent disconnection.
- The sound is great compared to my old Sony. As of right now no problems with the HDMI outputs, but time will tell.
- The connections in the back are separated enough to keep the cables comfortably apart.
- This unit is the heart of my sound system, connecting various components to a central system.
- It will not connect to wireless and when connected with a wired connection, cannot navigate to videos or audio that is not in a top level directory.
- It can find and open connections to network connected PCs, but cannot see attached external drives.
- Also, the Bluetooth takes forever to connect, which was one of the main reasons I bought this.
- Good receiver , simple connection process cables, easy handling, a bit simple application , excellent interaction with zone 2.
- The Bluetooth does not work well. It worked on my old phone and would not connect to my new phone.
- The only complaint is it wont connect with wifi. It does not see my wi-fi, I don’t know what to do with it.
- Network card is defective. It would connect and lose connection after about 1 minute of play.
