- The 80 lb thrust moves the boat very well. I like being able to push the anchor mode when I catch a fish so I can focus on landing the fish instead of focusing on keeping the boat off shore or rocks.
- The motor is so quite I can barely tell it's on (unless on high speed), and it deploys and stows very easily.
- This motor has changed my life. I know that sounds crazy but Anchor mode and the way point head lock GPS is a game changer.
- This motor is incredible. Pairs it with a Lowrance G3 HD7 it doesn’t get any better.
- The XI 5 worked for six weeks and now the gps has gone out again. For this much money it is a really shoddy product.
- This motor is awesome. It's more than you could ever want and does everything possible. If you are considering a motor, consider this one you will not be sorry.
- It moves a 16' pontoon boat at a maximum speed of ~4.5 mph without wind or waves. it makes the boat very manuverable and I use it for fishing along the edge of the lake.
- You just point it in the direction you want to go and how fast and it does the rest. Now I can spend my time fighting fish instead of fighting the boat!
- Very quiet, making trolling is very pleasant comparing to gas engines.
- It has plenty of power for my boat though I would have put the bigger motor on if I had a place for a third deep cycle battery.
- I have this mounted on a 22 ft Phantom switchback and fished in 20 mph winds on the Potomac river this past weekend and only used my anchor once..
- Easy to install, anchor lock works GREAT (if you want to sit completely still, then you're better off using a real anchor or power pole), the heading lock is great.
- I purchased a Xi5 / 80 Trolling motor and couldn't be more happy with its installation and performance.
- Installed with quick release mount and 60amp circuit breaker. I expect to have many hours of good fishing with this set up
- The motor head sticks out off the side of my boat a little bit when stowed on my bass tracker PT185. This only becomes an issue when covering the boat.
- Had some magnetic interference and had to remount it (correctly this time)
- I bow mounted two deep cycle batteries to run the motor and hooked a Minn Kota Precision 330 charger to them and to my stern mounted deep cycle battery.
- I had an existing one that was a 55 and short shaft length that I had on an older boat. Mounted new one on same plate and tested it out. Nice and quiet when running and turning.
- The quick release is a great bonus and in our opinion a must have - it will make removing your motor a breeze!
- Great trolling motor. I only got out once with it so far. As mentioned in the reviews, the pedal is VERY different from conventional mechanical steer pedals.
- The anchor feature is awesome. love the fact that i can just hit the anchor button when i get a fish on and not worry about ending up in the rocks by the time i am done.
- The route feature is great I use it every day. I have a number of routes planned on my lowrance unit that I fish often.
- The foot pedal is almost useless! By the time you get the motor steering its gone 90 degrees before you can get your foot off it. if it was not for the anchor button on the pedal i would take it off the boat!
- The remote - no indicator that the motor is on, and no way of telling what setting the motor is on.
- Spot anchor is a great feature to keep your boat in one area.
- The auto pilot features like GPS anchor and heading control work well. They are not exact, but they are nice options. So far, I have been happy with the motor.
- The I-pilot was an upgrade. And works great. Got my rebuilt Terrova back last week. Now going to have a spare one. I use it about 6 hrs a day 3 days a month, 5 months a year.
- The handheld remote control took a bit to get use too, but once I got the hang of it it has become my go to way of operating the trolling motor.
- The GPS unit that guides the motor was defective. The local repair center had to replace and it still does not operate as advertised.
