It has decent speeds and is a bit noisy but does the job.
It burns DVDs at very low speeds, making it work more and taking longer when burning discs, the quality of the burnt discs is great, videos are played in any device. Reads and writes very quick.
The read/write speed is very solid. I have had no software compatibility issues, and it's never given me a moment of trouble.
A little bit slow and often stops to buffer while playing a DVD . But you pay for what you get I got it for a very good price so not complaining
Bought this to burn some DVD+DL discs. Had to burn it at the LOWEST speed (3x). Any attempts to burn at any higher speeds FAILED.

So far working great! Quiet and reasonable speed CD burns. Arrived in good condition. Apple disc drive world best with Macs. Others are noisy.
Impressed with the speed of this product. Also, it does not get overheated. Wish it came with a case, I had to buy this separately.
A great super drive. it works very well and very fast. Need to back up your system ? On dvd it is done very quickly. It is very handy to have and leaves a small foot print
It's nice and clean and gets the job done. I was surprised with the slow copy speeds, however. When copying data from a CD to my computer, I found it took about 2 minutes to copy 100MB of data.
Excellent product. Does what it is supposed to. Not as fast as the built-in drives from back in the day, but it gets the job done.

LG GP65NB60 Ultra Slim Portable CD/DVD Writer Drive

Very light weight, all plastic, but works as expected. The power/connection cord is only 2 ft long. Might be short for some applications, but fine for most.
It is also a nice looking drive to have out. And no power cord needed (only USB) makes it very portable and easy to use.
This one writes all the different combinations of +- formats!
It only requires 1 USB for both power & data and doesn't need drivers installed once connected. True plug and play for both Windows and Mac OS.
I did notice that it's so light that when the tray opens, the unit moves (action - reaction). I solved that problem by gluing some cork sheeting to the bottom.
Tray is a bit flimsy when open (duh) and the eject button takes some reverse pressure applied to the back of the drive to function.

It's very nice...works perfectly with my El Capitan OS , burns very nice
I attached it to a USB port on my new MacBook Pro (it won't work connected to a USB hub), and within minutes I was listening to an audio CD and viewing a video DVD.
Connected immediately to iMac when plugged in. No software or drivers required. Provides great backups or storage for downloaded videos and music.
Works great, even with my Surface Pro 4, once you download the drivers needed. Highly recommended!
It wasn't clear on how to eject the disk but if you read the little manual that comes with it shows you how. (It even has illustrations) The lil thing works great.

If you just need something to read CDs or DVDs this is super easy to install and use. If you want to write DVDs or rip CDs, there is free software included that is easy to install & use
Works great. Computer recognized it instantly without a driver. It reads data as fast as I need, though I have not tried writing to CDs or DVDs.
Some people say that it may have less performance this way, but it is still faster than the DVD drive that came with my computer both reading from, and writing onto the disk.
Works great for the Surface Pro 4. Plug and play no issues. Reads CDs DVDs and writes CDs and DVDs.
A bit slow to read contents from optical disk.

I've had this for a couple weeks now & it's working great. Reads discs with no problem and seems durable
It read and writes effortlessly without error and thereby giving the feeling that it is, and always has been, an integral part of the system.
The only reason I gave it four stars is that I wish it had a simple LED indcator to let me know when it's functioning.
For a basic DVD player/recorder I expected superior engineering and performance. Not so... it is slow and had errors reading and writing my backup DVD+Rs.
