ASUS Chromebook Flip (C302CA-DHM4)
The Company's Flagship Chrome Laptop
Chromebooks are an offshoot of conventional laptops that are operated by Google's Chrome OS. At first glance, you might not even be able to tell a Chromebook from a real laptop. Yet, can a Chrome laptop be used as a primary computer? The answer is rather positive if it comes to the ASUS C302CA as this device is compact and really high-performance. Needless to say, all your data will be securely stored in a cloud storage and you will be able to access them from any part of the world. Buying the C302CA, you will get free access to 100 GB of Google Drive storage and you will be able to access it not just from the ASUS Chromebook but from any other computer as well: just log in to your Google account. As for the hardware, this Chrome laptop is fitted with the Intel Core m3-6Y30 CPU clocked at 2.2 GHz, which is enough to ensure a smooth operation of the apps you need for everyday use. If you travel a lot, you will like a long battery life, up to 10 hours. Finally, we would like to highlight the all-metal chassis of this best ASUS Chromebook; it's durable scratch-resistant, and look posh.
Fast and Convenient
If you wish to copy some data from the Chromebook to a flash drive or another storage device, the top speed is guaranteed since the C302CA has two USB 3.1 Type-C ports. This is the latest USB version and it ensures an incredibly high data transfer speed. Also, one of the ports is used for charging the Chrome laptop, so you don't need to carry a long and messy charging cable. This is a truly space-saving solution, particularly if you carry the device a lot. Also, we'd like to mention the unique design of this Chromebook: it has 360° hinges, so the screen rotates, turning the device from a conventional laptop to a large tablet. Any tablet requires a touchscreen display and the ASUS Chromebook is not an exception. It has a multi-touch IPS-based LED-backlit screen that provides a top-class image quality. In all, this Chrome laptop is the perfect pick for people who need to work with securely protected documents every day.
Tip
If you aren't sure that you will be able to recharge your Chromebook on time, consider using a power bank. This simple device will help you recharge not only your Chrome laptop but other gadgets as well (smartphone, tablet, etc.).

ASUS Chromebook Flip (C213SA-YS02-S)
Tough Little Laptop
The C213 series of ASUS Flip Chromebook series was designed primarily for students and school staff to be used in educational facilities. For this very reason, the model’s main distinguishing trait is its durability. School use can be dangerous to fragile and expensive tech like computers and ASUS seems to know this, so they’ve created this series with military-grade protection. Owing to the reinforced nano-molding and ruggedized rubber wrapping of all 4 edges and corners, the Chromebook can withstand drops (tests were completed with up to 4 feet height), swinging, and all kinds of rough treatment by kids, something highly appreciated in classrooms. Furthermore, the keyboard is spill-resistant as well, which eliminates another of the major concerns when it comes to laptops.
As it is a Flip model, it means you get four options to work with: a regular laptop mode, a stand mode, a tent mode, and a tablet mode, all thanks to the 360° swinging lid on sturdy steel hinges with zinc alloy caps. The laptop is also extremely comfortable to hold in hand—there are two grips at the bottom to ensure the machine does not slip from your hand. The all-around protection and utmost convenience in use make the Chromebook versatile and usable not only in a classroom but outdoors as well when kids do projects and need to take notes or check guidelines and tutorials.
Better Than a Tablet
The screen of the laptop is 11.6” and 10-point touch-sensitive, which makes for a comfortable and fast use in tablet mode. At the same time, the 32GB hard drive will handle more apps and content than an average tablet. And if it is not enough, the connectivity options include 2 USB Type-A and 2 USB Type-C ports (one of each at both sides) and a micro SD card slot, so you can connect external drives. No HDMI port, though, to connect to a TV or projector.
There are two cameras on the C213SA, a 5MP “rear” camera on the keyboard part and an HD front one above the screen. This makes the Chromebook more like a tablet—you can record videos and take photos of the world around you (in a tent mode) as well as take selfies and make video calls.
Draw It
Since this Chromebook has a touch screen, it is logical for the manufacturer to include a stylus with it, which they did. The stylus pen is similar to those used with Wacom drawing tablets, it is based on an EMR technology and thus needs no battery. If you like to draw or take written notes, the pen is a great option and if you don’t, you can choose to buy the laptop alone. The option with the pen also includes a Corning Gorilla cover glass.

ASUS Chromebook C202SA (C202SA-YS02)
For Rugged Use!
Chromebooks are very often used by students and teachers because of long battery life, sufficient performance, and access to the cloud storage where all the data are stored. A Chrome laptop allows checking tests in real-time as well as store lesson plans and other documents on Google Drive. However, such everyday use of the device is a tough challenge for its chassis and hardware. For example, you never know when a passer-by at your college cafeteria will turn your cup over, spilling coffee right on your Chromebook. That's why we recommend ASUS C202SA, a device designed specifically for rough use. First of all, this Chrome laptop has an extra-durable ruggedized chassis able to withstand a fall from 3.9 feet. Moreover, this ASUS Chromebook has a spill-resistance keyboard which has the character-printed keys 15% larger than on conventional keyboards. Therefore, typing is easy and totally safe, so you won't get tired too fast. The chassis has reinforced rubber guards with shock-absorption capabilities. Moreover, the guards are slide-proof, so this device will remain stable no matter what kind of surface you use it on. But that's not all! The rubber guards stick out slightly, so you can carry this Chromebook in your backpack without using any protective cover at all. Obviously, this is the best device for everyday use!
Replace Hardware Yourself
As you know, replacing pieces of hardware is a fairly challenging task on most laptops. However, nothing can work for ages and you might need to repair your device. Should you pay for a service center or not? The answer is no if you choose the ASUS C202SA Chrome laptop. The chassis is designed to give you easy access to the device's hardware. For example, if the battery can't maintain the charge properly, it needs to be replaced. Get a new one, unscrew the cover, and replace the old battery in no time. Therefore, not only is this Chromebook durable, it's also easy-to-maintain. By the way, this Chrome laptop from ASUS has a high-quality Wi-Fi antenna that minimizes poor signal connection, so you will revel in high-speed and stable web surfing.
Advice
The storage capacity of this ASUS Chromebook is just 16 GB, which is certainly insufficient for storing enough pictures or videos. Keep in mind that Wi-Fi access is not available everywhere. That's why we recommend getting a microSD card with the help of which you will substantially expand the overall storage space. Also, this device has an HDMI port, which means you can stream some movie to your wide-screen TV with the help of HDMI cable.

ASUS Chromebook (C101PA-DS04 )
Cheaper Flip
This C101PA-DS04 ASUS Chromebook is one of the company's latest additions, a 2018 release. It is also another 2-in-1 Chromebook, meaning it belongs to the Flip family. Cheaper than the series's flagship model, it still offers the top feature list and functionality the company is known for.
The difference between this model and some others from the ASUS Flip series, and in a part a reason why it is this much cheaper, lies in the CPU: in this model, it is Rockchip RK3399 instead of one of the Intel processors and its clocking frequency is 1.6GHz as compared to the more usual 2.2GHz and higher). This might make some customers turn away but we find the said Rockchip processor good enough for basic tasks like surfing the Internet and using word processors, the primary tasks of a Chromebook. The other features balance this handicap nicely for many other buyers, less concerned with top performance speed.
The device is compact. Like, really compact, the screen makes 10.1" in diagonal. It is also lightweight, obviously, so a perfect companion for those spending a lot of time on foot and still in need of a computer. The battery life holds up for approximately 9 hours, a day's worth of working, it won't die on you suddenly. The RAM and amount of storage space are the average choices for this type of gadgets, too, 4GB and 16GB respectively. It might be nothing grand but it is a solid and reliable ASUS Chromebook at a good price.
More That You Need for Entertainment
Seeing as this is a Flip 2-in-1 ASUS Chromebook, you can use it as a tablet as well as in a laptop kind of way: the hinges will help move the keyboard out of your way and the screen is 10-point multitouch-supported. But that's not all. There is a number of 2-in-1 Chromebook laptops today from different manufacturers but only a handful of models in addition to Chrome Web Store apps and extensions also support Android apps from Google Play Store. This ASUS Chromebook does, hence, you will be offered a selection of millions of work and entertainment options, more than you can possibly imagine.
There is one more distinguishing feature to this model, this one more the hardware type. This compact Chrome laptop from ASUS has exemplary built-in speakers, much better than those usually embedded in portable computers. These speakers have larger audio chambers, thus providing better volume and sound clarity. They might not be some full audio system but you might no more need the regular external speakers, at least. Convenient when you need to make a presentation of sorts or simply want to turn on the music to groove for a bit.
Drawing a conclusion, we believe this Chromebook to be better than one would think only looking at the price. It is not perfect by any stretch but you will be surprised by everything it has to offer.

ASUS Chromebook (C300)
Good ASUS Chromebook for Work
One of the cheapest ASUS Chromebooks on the market, this model has a price that is its main selling point. The C300 might be no great shakes but it does find its users since it is far from a weak device still.
It is quite big for a Chromebook though still smaller than a full-size laptop. With the display size of 13.3", the resolution could be bigger than the 1366x768, let's face it. At the same time, if you primarily need the laptop for office-like work and surfing the Internet for information, the resolution matters very little. And if you do wish to occasionally use it to watch a movie, there is an HDMI port in it to connect to a bigger and better monitor or a TV set so it works out either way. Besides, to balance this drawback out, the C300 ASUS Chromebook is equipped with a powerful Intel Celeron CPU that offers up to 2.48GHz of clocking speed, making the device fast and highly responding.
The RAM here is 4GB, the standard for a Chromebook, as is the storage disk of 16GB so you might want to get an external drive to store media. The model is outfitted with one USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0 ports, as well as an SD card slot, therefore connecting to external storage should not pose any issues.
Large Touch for Convenience
Even with the 13.3" diagonal, this Chrome laptop is anything but bulky, neither it is heave. In fact, it weighs around 3 lbs, which is only slightly more than the C302CA, an ASUS Chromebook Flip model with the 12.5" diagonal. You can easily carry it around the whole day and will hardly even notice the strain.
Despite being a relatively simple device (as compared to the top-shelf models), there is a distinguishable feature here as well. The C300 has a touchpad that is larger than usual. At the first glance, it might not seem very cool or outstanding but when you think about it, it is a fairly mindful addition. How so? Well, imagine needing to find something on your laptop on the go, be it a sales proposal or a booklet you need to show your potential customer. Mouses are inconvenient when there is no desk to put the machine on, what with falling down all the time and taking space, but regular touchpads are still secondary today as a means of pointer operator—you'll need to exercise some skills for comfortable use of them due to their size. A larger touchpad fares better in these circumstances. And if it's the one like this one, with support for both multi-touch and gestures, then you might forego the mouse at all when you go out with your ASUS Chromebook.
All in all, this model is everything you might need for working and studying on-the-go: it is cheap, sturdy, functional if not much more.

What Is an ASUS Chromebook?
ASUS is a company that manufactures all things computers though they are probably the most accomplished and known for their laptops. This is where they make the biggest competition for other companies and this is where they shine. From gaming laptops to 2-in-1s to tablets, ASUS is always lurking somewhere around the top five, along with names like Acer and Lenovo. Chromebooks are laptops, too, so there is little to no surprise that this company has offered a plethora of models, each with its own distinguishing features but all boasting top quality and high performance.
Chromebooks are primarily created for online use, what with the browser-based Chrome OS. This limitation could have been damning some years before but today, the Google's famous browser offers a nearly full functionality of basic computer applications necessary for work or studying and even quite a number of entertainment-aimed extensions, let alone the possibility to read books, listen to music, and watch movies. At all that, Chromebooks are much cheaper than MacBooks and full-fledged laptops, making them a prime choice for students and many office workers who operate on-the-go as well as business persons who often travel for trade.
What Features to Compare
Since Chromebooks have a fairly narrow scope of application, the parameters to choose one also differ from those recommended when you choose a laptop. Chromebooks are always sturdy and reliable, more protected against things like accidental drops than an average laptop. This is because they are designed to be a perfect travel and commute companions. Their battery life is a little shorter, though, more often than not—for the same purpose, to make the device lighter. Still, you can expect 8 to 10 hours of continuous use, sometimes more. And with the abovementioned narrow scope of application, this time is much more predictable than that of a laptop. These are the parameters same for the majority of models. Following are some that offer more diversity.
Size and Weight
Since the main selling point of Chromebooks is their convenience when it comes to working and studying, especially on-the-go or during trips, the size and weight are most usually on the lower side but there are still models that are heavier or lighter. Here's where your intended use comes to the forefront. If you are a business person with a lot of traveling abroad scheduled in your planner, you will most probably need to think about size and weight limits of hand luggage in airplanes, for example. The lightest models will also be appreciated by those walking a lot whereas if it's about commuting from one place to another a couple times a day, like, say, to and from school library, a model that is a bit heavier yet cheaper is good enough.
Display
Generally, for surfing the Internet or working with documentation, you won't need a large display nor the high resolution. When it comes to entertainment, though, the story gets different: to watch a movie or enjoy YouTube videos, you would probably prefer a better quality picture, hence, a higher resolution. ASUS does offer models for all the types of use, from the more oldish 1280x800 and 1366x768 to the FullHD 1920x1080 ones.
Another nice thing to have in a Chromebook would be the touch support. Usually, it comes combined with either 180° or 360° hinges so that you can use the laptop as a tablet.
Storage
Chromebooks are geared towards Internet use, as we've already mentioned. This means they rarely offer a lot of storage space. Besides, large memory would make a device heavier and bulkier since it is a physical element. The same goes for RAM: 4GB is an industry standard. Instead of larger internal storage, go for Cloud ones like Dropbox or Google Drive.
Extras
There are few bells and whistles found in ASUS Chromebooks (or any others, for that matter) but sometimes, you can find an HDMI port or an ability to run Android and Linux apps, powerful speakers, backlit spill-proof keyboard, etc. Check out the specs for those handiest for your intended use.
