On top of that, Bio Bidet BB-2000W boasts the energy saving feature that switches the seat to sleep when it's not in use.
Hands down, the best bidet toilet seat ever!
Evolution of Electric Bidet Toilet Seat
The history of electronic bidets goes back to the 1980s. They were the Japan engineers who invented such a smart electric device also called a Washlet. But what was its prototype? Unfortunately, nobody knows for sure when and where the first bidet was invented.
The bidet (bee-day) is considered to be a French invention, though the roots of the earliest written references run back to Italy, 1710. So, the French or the Italians? Who knows.
The first primitive bidets looked like simple bowls one could squat over, and they were usually used in bedrooms. Bidets weren't changed much since then until the 1900s when they were, at last, moved into a bathroom. As a rule, a bidet was installed next to the toilet and had a spray faucet.
The first bidet toilet seat was invented by an American Arnold Cohen. The bidet seat was presented in the US in 1964, but it didn't become popular among Americans. Instead, it found its customers in Japan. In order to make them highly technological and extra convenient, they equipped bidet seats with more and more extra features. So, it's not strange that the first electric bidet toilet seat was invented in Japan!

Benefits of Using a Bidet Seat
Despite the benefits that a bidet seat offers, Americans still do not commonly use such a useful device in their bathrooms. At first, you can find the idea of having a bidet toilet seat pretty funny, yet everyone who has ever used it realizes how wonderful this device is. So, what are the main advantages of a bidet?
- It provides better personal hygiene. Toilet paper can leave some residue on your skin, what will never happen to a bidet. The water removes any residue, thus, you can feel incredibly clean.
- A new level of comfort. Bidet toilet seats clean more gently as opposed to toilet paper. Moreover, perfumed toilet paper might irritate your skin.
- Environmentally safe choice! We use approximately 36.5 billion rolls of toilet paper per year! Mind-blowing, yeah? This results in the cutting of more than 15 million trees. Then add here materials used for sustaining the toilet paper industry and you will get enormous amounts of chemicals, energy and water. So, if people used a bidet, the paper consumption would be significantly reduced. Think about our environment, save the Earth!

How to Install a Bidet Seat
More than 90% people usually install bidet seats by themselves. Really, such seats are intended for DIY installation and by following our tips, you will be able to install it within 20-30 minutes.
- Electric bidet seats require electricity supply, so make sure you have a free outlet nearby to power it.
- Remove your existing toilet seat. Close your lid and seat, then find two caps with bolts inserted behind the seat. Open these caps and then unscrew the bolts with a flathead screwdriver. As soon as you remove the bolts, lift your toilet seat up. Thus, you’ll get a seat-less toilet with two free mounting holes.
- Mount your bidet seat. First of all, install the mounting bracket onto your toilet. To make it, place the mounting bracket over these two mounting holes. Then, insert the guide rails on both sides of the bracket. Next, drop the bolts through the guide rails and holes. Don't forget to secure the bolts by fastening the nuts. Finally, slide your bidet seat onto the bracket, you will hear a “click”. Now your bidet is securely fixed!
- Connect the bidet to the water supply. Good news! No additional plumbing is required. Since almost all bidet seats have water heaters or a heating system inside, they don't require a hot water line. So, just tap a T-Connection (comes in the set) into the existing cold water supply behind your toilet and to your toilet’s water tank. That's all!

Bidet or Bidet Toilet Seat?
If you want to get a modern bidet but don't know which one to choose, let's consider the advantages and disadvantages of bidet toilet seats. Not everyone can buy a standalone modern bidet since it's pretty costly. But if you can afford such a luxury bathroom equipment, why not? A bidet integrated toilet is equipped with a small built-in water tank so that the device has a solid look without protrusions and gaps. Furthermore, such a construction greatly facilitates the cleaning of the bathroom and the cleaning of the bidet itself. But if it breaks, you will need to dismantle it, which is not always convenient.
As for a bidet seat, it is much cheaper and its installation is pretty simple and requires minimum time. Plus! In case of breakage, you can easily remove it and send to a service center. The seats come in all shapes and sizes, some are more high-ended, some are less. Due to a reasonable price, most buyers tend to purchase seats boasting the same functionality as bidets. After all, buying a bidet means the installation of a completely new equipment in the bathroom, which doesn't go for seats!

Hygiene is Never too Much!
When it comes to such devices as bidet toilet seats, hygiene is never too much. Today, the self-cleaning nozzles can hardly surprise anyone. However, the manufacturer of Brondell S300-RW has taken a step forward by fitting the nozzle with an additional antibacterial film to provide the maximum hygienic effect. No bacteria, no odors, no germs!
One more distinctive feature of the seat is its "sittable" lid that will be very useful if you need an extra sitting place in your bathroom. For example, you can comfortably sit on it waiting until your tub is filled with water, or probably you need a place to sit your baby while brushing his/her teeth. Perhaps this feature is not crucial for choosing a bidet seat but it's certainly a good bonus!
Brondell S300-RW Swash 300 Bidet Toilet Seat also boasts aerated posterior and feminine warm-water washes with adjustable water pressure and temperature. To sum up, this electric bidet seat is a typical representative of its kind equipped with some auxiliary features. Don't hesitate any longer, get this marvel of civilization!

What is a Bidet Toilet Seat
A mind-boggling fact is that Americans use about 8 million tons of toilet paper annually, and it goes without saying that too many forests are destroyed in order to keep up with this huge demand. Yet, if you travel to Europe, the Middle East, or Japan, you can find out that people there almost don't use toilet paper since they have bidets at home! A bidet looks like a toilet but it is a bit lower and designed to freshen you up after a toilet use. But it is not always comfortable to install such a bulky device next to a toilet in a small bathroom, so inventors came up with a state-of-the-art solution, a bidet toilet seat. You can put such a seat at the top of a regular toilet; most modern bidet seats have several nozzles, a heating feature, a massage function and a dry option. So, bidet toilet seats are hygienic, space-saving, gentle on your skin, and good for the environment. Give it a try and be ready to kick your toilet paper habit to the curb!
If you want to bring your showering experience to a new level of luxury, consider getting one of shower heads and shower speakers. Isn't it a good idea to wrap yourself in a warm bath towel after taking a shower? For this, a towel warmer can come in very useful!
What Features to Compare
Type
All bidet toilet seats can be divided into two types: electrical and mechanical. Needless to say, a price jumps dramatically when you go from a mechanical seat to an electrical one. Mechanical models offer minimal features, though, they do their main job. Some of them even have a feminine wash function and self-cleaning nozzles, but that’s where all the extra features end. As for electric bidet seats, they boast a great variety of features: a touch remote control, posterior and feminine cleanings, a heated seat and a heated air dry, adjustable water and pressure, massage, air deodorizing and much more.
Shape
The covers may be round and elongated, so you are free to choose the one according to your toilet.
Nozzles
As a rule, the best bidet seats are made of stainless steel, very durable and rust-resistant material. Many seats are paired with 3-in-1 nozzles system ensuring posterior, feminine, and vortex washes. Some models have dual nozzles to provide most sensitive users with a wider spray function. It's a great bonus if a nozzle has a self-cleaning system.
Functions
As we have already mentioned, modern bidet seats are fitted with a huge variety of extras that can be subdivided into hygienic functions, bidet features, and conveniences. As for hygienic functions, seats can provide users with an adjustable water stream, oscillating, pulsating, massage cleaning, posterior and feminine washes, enema, bubble infusion, etc. Bidet features may include auto wash function, nozzle self-clean, body sensors, slow closing and quick release functions as well as automatic power save feature. Concerning users conveniences, most seats can be personalized to every user since they have adjustable pressure, heating system, air dry and water temperature. The night lighting and deodorizer are amazing benefits that also add to the comfort of use.
Controls
Finally, when choosing a bidet toilet seat, select the convenient control unit. Note that electronic seats have wireless remote controls or touch screen panels. The most upgraded models come with these two.
