- The VR headset works great, very ease app to use and the controller holds a charge for a long time. Depending on the phone model you have you may need to create a simple heat sink to allow heat transfer because your phone will overheat very quickly.
- I have mixed feelings about this headset, the body of the goggle is ok, the lenses are good but there is no adjustment of any kind. I realize that I can wear my glasses with the headset but I still needed adjustments. That, to me is the only drawback. The controller works great.
- I had to tweak my notification settings to avoid having to pop out of VR & I kept forgetting that I could change the volume on the controller & would try to use my phone to do it, but other than that I had no complaints.
- I couldn't get the controller to work with a Pixel or Samsung S8.
- The controller is not as accurate, the daydream store rather lacklustre in choice and quality of build is light but I'll fitting.
- At the reasonable price point, the image quality impressed me; the pixels of the phone are still somewhat visible but this may continue to be improved as phone screen resolutions continue to evolve.
- With an S8, the quality is nearing that of an oculus although the FOV is lesser, but it is wireless which is a plus. I work for a 3D graphics firm and we use this all the time.
- This thing is awesome! The video is so clear, and it runs so smooth on my new Note 8. The oculus app has so many awesome videos to watch and apps to play, you will not get bored anytime soon. Motion sickness? Non existent!
- The controller is comes with works really well too, it's better than the Nintendo remotes in terms of accuracy and response. The Netflix app is absolutely killer as well!
- Image quality isn’t as refined as higher end VR headsets (such as the PlayStation VR and Oculus Rift)
- Many games require the purchase of an additional Bluetooth game controller
- The headset itself is comfortable. My biggest issue is, I guess my head size is weird.
- You can tighten the strap, however it becomes uncomfortably tight when you finally manage to block out real life. I really want to like this, but having to adjust it to head squeezing tight is just not fun. YMMV, however due to head size.
- The Daydream viewer is adjustable and fits well, but I have the Pixel 2XL which, when in place, appears to be much too large for the viewer.
- I love that this fits over my glasses. It is very comfortable to wear.
- Headband is also slippery and constantly needs adjustment. Shame it doesn't fit my sons smaller head he actually likes this more than I do.
- Sleek, comfortable, and lightweight
- HEADSET: Black, solid quality plastic-body with two head strap adjustments and it makes a LOT of sense to have the one going above your head for support to carry off the weight of the mobile phone.
- Pretty comfortable, especially around the eyes where the padding snuggly fits to block out the ambient light.
- It is very simple to use and comfortable just make sure your phone is charged before you use it.
- It can feel a bit front-heavy due to the mobile so be aware of you dropping your head down as it may happen faster.
- The image is incredible. I am looking forward to more content in the near future. It is a great improvement over the cardboard. I really sensed a 3D effect. I have an astigmatism in my eye so I normally don't pick up on 3D effects. It was nice to be able to experience it.
- The attention to detail of the device, controller, removable foam mask, new strap type [...] & welcome demo were beautifully crafted
- This thing is pretty cool, but really it's VR that's so cool. The Daydream viewer is adjustable and fits well, but I have the Pixel 2XL which, when in place, appears to be much too large for the viewer.
- The rubber strap comes right over the power button and turns thr cellphone off ...so have to be careful and slide the celphone bit left or right.
- That being said, the Gear VR does have a different store front with different applications so there is a trade off there. Also, there isn't a way to adjust focus like the Gear VR.
- There is no focus adjustment for people, like myself, that do not have perfect vision. I was unable to get the controller to pair with my phone.
- Can charge your phone through the headset (with cable)
- With Samsung PhoneCast you can operate most of your phone apps and games through the headset
- A few good apps like Face Your Fear, Titans of Space, but not much else.
- Only works with Samsung flagship phones (with the Galaxy Note 8 requiring its own specific edition of the headset due to its size)
- Plastic lenses that constantly fog up - have to use a spray to prevent fogging up
- Limited content that looks like they are no longer being updated or uploaded
