- This detector is simply amazing. I give it 5 stars. Instead of the normal Beeps you get on other machines, which makes pinpointing so hard, this gives you a longer signal which helps you lock onto the target easier and quicker, and 100 % of the time it's in the middle hole of the coil.
- This was our first metal detector. I take my children out on treasure hunts, and it's been a great item for us to explore the woods and history.
- This was our first metal detector. I take my children out on treasure hunts, and it's been a great item for us to explore the woods and history. Grant it, we find mostly old iron bits, a bit of pocket change, and the like.
- Great product. Strong hits on most metals up to 6-7 inches deep right out of the box after adjusting the detector as per owner's manual instructions. Very happy with this purchase!!
- A great detector for the money made in America and with a lifetime warranty to the original buyer. The one downside is the control box is not waterproof but the coil is.
- The small 5.75" coil allows you to pinpoint with ease, go around obstacles, and go inside small holes.
- I have been detecting for many years and the performance of this machine is incredible for it's price It beats out many of the newer machines with all their bells and whistles.
- Best beginner to experience user detector. Very simple to use and works better than many of my more expensive detectors. If this was 1st detector i don't think i would need t ever upgrade but like most detectorist i want the newer better advertises detector, even if not needed.
- I never found any coins which is what I was hoping for..I did clear out a lot of nails, pieces of barbed wire, cans, shotgun shells.. I think the product construction is fine, and the shipping was fast.
- Light weight, powerful. silent search, battery last long time, water proof coil, black sand at beach will not effect it, here in California, it is not a toy, forget he rest buy the best!!
- This is a great detector. It's easy to use, and light-weight. (I watched youtube videos, showing experienced metal detector users, for tips.)
- Great little detector. Extremely light and easy to use once you learn it.
- The detector is very light weight and is a pleasure to use.
- The Compadre was exactly what I wanted (a light device with just one tone) and it is great.
- It is so easy to use ,and it's super light weight and comfortable.
- This came as a recommend metal detector. I would totally recommend this unit. It's light weight and fun to hunt with and I use it up camping when we run across old ruins out riding.
- Light light light, simple to use and has good sensitivity and did I mention it's light.
- Ground Balance is not adjustable. {If ground mineralization is an issue where you detect you may need to look at another detector, if ground mineralization is an issue where you detect you may need to look at another detector.
- I'm new to the metal detecting hobby so I didn't want to put out a lot of money toward the purchase of a decent unit. This metal detector lives up to the reviews from others and recommendations from some so-called experts I found on-line.
- Item can detect metal from several inches below ground! Would recommend this to a friend.
- Great discrimination and depth. I can only slightly fault it for not fitting over my forearms (but none do)
- I am very pleased with this detector. Simple, light, and efficient. Finds deep and pinpoints easily. It certainly isn't a toy.
- The depth as measured for gold ring in air approx. 5.5 inches after internal sensitivity adjustment 7.5 inches. Coins 6 to 6.5 inches after sensitivity adjustment 8.5 to 9 inches with the standard 5.75 inch coil.
- I might even end up selling my Cortes and using this one for parks. You can identify targets by adjusting the disc control while going over them. Because of the 12kHz frequency and small coil, it is sensative to jewelry.
- This thing seems to be plenty sensitive enough for casual coin shooting. The receiver doesn't seem to be particularly accurate or else I need additional instruction on pin-pointing location of finds. I seem to spend a lot more time digging up dirt after a find than scanning new ground.
- I got this metal detector about a month ago and tried it a couple of times. You can find alot of trash with it. I used at the beach and the only thing I found was a bunch of cans. I buried a gold chain about 12'' deep and yes it found it but the signal wasn't strong.
- One 9 volt battery last an extremely long time. Headphones with volume control are a must-- this thing has a very loud speaker.
- This item was well packaged and delivery was made within the normal time frame.
- A piece of plastic was broken when I received it but the metal detector still works.
- The one downside is the control box is not waterproof but the coil is.
- Simplicity! One knob, easy to break down, durable, and life-time warranty.
- This machine is very simple to use and a new user can start enjoying it right away. I'm thinking of getting one for myself. It is simple, effective and comes with a lifetime warranty.
- Feels durable to me. Takes 1 9V battery, and I have not had to change it yet. Good product.
- It only has one knob... How could it be any good? Yes, it only has one knob and as far as I am concerned I could have lived with only an on off switch. All those buttons and gizzmo's on the other detectors only complicate things.
