This thing is great! No more digging and then running the detector over the spot again or grabbing handfuls of dirt and running my had above the coil.
I really appreciate it more in harder soil versus sand, and it worked great in the water especially amongst river rock where a coil can't reach.
I found more using a pro-pointer and coil in several hours than I had for several days with a coil alone.
So much wasted time pulling out dirt, shaking it in front of the detector coil, only to disappointedly reach back in for more dirt.
Its a must have,you can target your treasure with your large coil then bang your right on it with this little guy,im impressed why did I wait so long.

It’s an expensive accessory, but without a good pointer, a detectorist will surely lose lots of time prodding around clumsily with a full-sized detector.
This is a perfect size for many applications.
Works as advertised! Great tool to supplement my full-sized metal detector. It works great in pinpointing the buried metal.
It's small and light enough for my pack and fun for recreational prospecting.

On the whole, if you've never used a Pro Pointer and you metal detect, you're doing yourself a tremendous disservice. These tools reduce the time to find the target by at least half, if not more.
If you're metal detecting without a pinpointer, you are making it SO much harder than it has to be! Buy it.
If you do a lot of metal detect in this thing is I must have it cuts your time sitting there dirt in more than half.
If you enjoy metal detecting and don't own a pin-pointer, save up and get one -- you'll spend much less time digging and more time looking at your finds.
It does take a bit of getting used to because there are more modes on "the carrot" but by far the best.

Great for pinpointing objects. My wife lost her wedding ring in the yard on the 4th of July. I used my metal detector to close in on it and found it with the pro pointer.
The pin pointer speaks for itself, awesome just awesome.
This has been a great pinpointer during my metal detecting adventures. Would purchase again.
Works the best! Detects metal a good 4-6 or so inches away (depending on size of object).
Unfortunately,the pointer could not detect small size shot which was the intended purpose.

Finally, Garrett added all those features everyone who uses a pin pointer has been wanting. Waterproof, adjustable sensitivity, easy to see / find color, lanyard ring, less spongy on/off, and a disable feature for the audible.
Also features a alarm setting in case it gets lost it will trip for 60 minutes so you can find it. Brightly colored and waterproof.
The "quick retuning" feature allows you to starting homing in on a signal; when the beeps or vibrations start, a quick press of the button resets the sensitivity so the alerts stop and then will only continue as you get closer to the target -- handy!
Other features are as-advertised: ruler marks, LED light, and lanyard ring.
Periodic beeps if you leave it on, making it easy to find if you lose sight of it

A must have for treasure hunters or finding your wife's lost ring.
The belt on the pouch can use some work. I spent more time getting the belt to stay up the hunting.
The battery that came with it went dead within about the 5th or 6th hour of use. I'm on my 2nd battery now and have double those hours on it easily. I do carry a spare now. I would buy this product again with out any hesitation.
This bag is perfect for me and the Garrett pinpointer is as good as it gets. It has helped me so much and saved me lots of time detecting.
The only issue I have is that it can easily fall out of the holster when bending over or climbing through brush, over logs, etc...
