- It is capable of performing well for a wide variety of music. I found its quality to rival that of guitars that I’ve played that cost twice as much as this one. Both the sound and the feel are the most important assets of this guitar and I will lay out both benefits.
- The dual humbuckers are very nice, however, the neck pickup can be fairly muddy when played at higher gain levels. You’ll probably end up using the bridge humbucker without the coil tap most frequently.
- This is the guitar that I play the most and it makes a great workhorse guitar. It fits well for all experience levels and creates a great tone for the discerning ear.
- I have owned and played Les Paul-style guitars and Strats for nearly 20 years. This guitar fills in the space between them perfectly. The action was perfect out of the box.
- This is a whole lot of guitar for the money, Ill take it over the S2, it has the same parts why spend three times as much!
- Totally awesome, plays like a dream and love the variation of attainable sounds.
- Was pleasantly surprised when I plugged it into my VOX. Very versatile. I'm not the worlds greatest guitarist but this guitar makes even me sound good.
- Anyway, I'm droning on, but it is a great guitar, the price is excellent and Sweetwater did a nice setup on it.
- The playability is very high right out of the box, the pickups are articulate and expressive. The guitar sounds good in single coil mode and the humbuckers are so sweet.
- Besides being beautiful this thing plays like butter and sounds amazing. I have several USA made guitars that cost 3 times as much don"t compare to this guitar
- I find this guitar to be extremely easy to play. The fretboard feels great in my hand and the neck radius is wonderful.
- The length is between that of a Stratocaster and a Les Paul. I personally always felt stretched out on a Stratocaster, and a little cramped on a Les Paul, so this is a great compromise.
- Feels great in my hands the neck profile is like it was custom fitted to me
- I have never played a guitar so comfortable ever. The neck dimensions make my playing effortless. I"ve never played a guitar that was such an extension of myself.
- Other than the nut needing filing down i was blown away. Love the feel ,it has a fast neck good sound light weight. I found my perfect guitar. sorry lp.this is my new guitar.
- The neck is perfect for my hands. In my opinion this is one of the best buys for the money.
- The fit and finish of this guitar is flawless (as expected).
- PRS has crafted a beautiful and unique guitar. I think the Transparent Red looks wonderful and the grain of the wood is beautiful.
- In years past the only quality guitars were made in the U.S not so anymore, I am still surprised at how well these guitars are crafted
- Yeah, it is well made guitar but, it would be better if they have thinner gloss finish to it and won't feel like plastic.
- The one slightly sour note is that it has a gloss finish on the neck. While it is not an especially thick or tacky a satin finish would have definitely been better.
- Why is it called all-mahogany while the neck is made of maple. Previous SE standard's are made with mahogany necks, even on the earlier SE custom 24's and 22s (with maple cap)
- The craftsmanship and build quality is amazing. The veneer top is amazing looking, the neck profile fits me perfectly and it sounds GREAT. If your a lefty and considering one of these, do it.
- I have bought several other non-US made guitars and find the quality amazing for the price.
- The fit and finish on this guitar is better than I thought it would be. Definitely the best quality I"ve ever owned.
- The guitar looks great and plays beautifully out of the box. Very happy with my purchase!
- The finish is beautiful, flawless near as I can tell.
- PRS guitars are often thought of as a heavy metal style of guitar, however, I think this is selling the versatility of this guitar short. I mostly play alternative and classic rock and for me, this guitar works perfectly.
- It might need little graphite around the nut if you like to use the tremolo. I have noticed the tuning isn't perfect but it could be the stock strings.
- The pickups are fairly bright and sound great clean and with some overdrive. I really like how they work while playing rhythm parts as each string is very balanced and present.
- One feature that I thought I would get more use out of is the coil-tap. It works well in the neck position and in the middle position to get that in-between strat tone.
- An absolutely awesome thing of beauty and tone! Finest guitar I have ever owned. Action is amazing.
- With the gain up this ax will growl and snarl at you with the best of them. To top it off the guitar is a good looking machine as well....
- Clean big fat warm tones and when you add some drive, you"re gonna cover lots of ground with rock and metal! The split coil option gives you some snap and the hardware is superb.
- The sounds is remarkable. Only two knobs to mess with but for me that works.
- Three way toggle.... The pups are sweet with some bite. It really rings out. Even the single coil holds up well. All around best music/guitar purchase I've made in some time.
