- The reel is very smooth with a feel of tightness found in reels that cost twice as much.
- I have it spooled with 17 lb test nano fil on a Med / Hvy spinning rod rated for 1/4 - 1 oz lures. Casts amazingly well and I had zero line issue.
- So far these reels seem to be a great bang for the buck. Smooth and a nice drag.
- Super smooth drag that handles big reds and snook flawlessly. Paired it with a Gander Mountain Tournmanet mediam-heavy rod.
- Smooth action, excellent drag.
- The 4000 series is good for a medium size fish and you can pair it with a medium action rod
- Great size and appears well made, very smooth action.
- Best size for casting lures for my use love the drag looks and build quality will definitely buy again I have 3 of them.
- Excellent reel. Perfect size, very well balanced, great retrieve speed, very well made, solidly built.
- I wouldn't say it was uncomfortable but it was a little heavier than other similarly sized reels.
- What I liked most is the smooth action, super strong and smooth drag! This reel is light and compact but able to handle larger fish in saltwater.
- As always, Shimano reels are great! Very smooth and balanced.
- Light, responsive. I really like the way the drag is easy to set.
- There is a serious problem with the geometry of this this reel.
- The drag and action remain smooth year after year with virtually no maintenance.
- Awesome reel, used it in the surf and is an easy clean up, enough drag to do whatever you need it for.
- The drag is easy to adjust in the fly. Happy with it so far.
- Great drag and solidly built. A bit heavier than some other reels but feels a lot more solid than lighter competitors reels.
- Drag works great and it has handles Large stripe without and issue.
- The reel was used every day in saltwater for a week and it cleaned up very well ,so I guess the protective coating advertised works.
- Tip of reel crank handle is texturized, thick, flat, T-shaped with rounded top. This allows for a very strong grip when placed in the palm between ring finger & middle finger.
- Great value for money, strong enough drag to fish inshore and offshore. Smooth operation, and great a fast line retrieve.
- All I use is Shimano spinning reels and this one is just as good as my stradic for less. I would recommend to anyone, very smooth drag and action.
- Anti-reverse feature is permanent with no switch to manually reverse retrieve.
- It is pretty much perfect, right down to the handle because I have a crippled hand that can still handle the angle and size of the handle!
- This is a great reel. I love the looks, durability, line capacity, braid ready spool, and drag.
- The handle is very well designed and feels really nice.
- Large spool. Cast great. Very smooth
- My biggest problem is that the line doesn't go on the spool evenly.
