- I thought I'd take a step up from my Penn Pursuit. There's more line capacity here and a nice smooth retrieve.
- Nice reel. I like the bait drag option.
- Very smooth, ample line capacity, great retrieve rate. Drag works pretty darn well.
- Great saltwater reel, this is my second one and will probably buy another with larger capacity.
- Great spool capacity. Retrieval speed is great.
- The reel is very smooth with a feel of tightness found in reels that cost twice as much.
- I have it spooled with 17 lb test nano fil on a Med / Hvy spinning rod rated for 1/4 - 1 oz lures. Casts amazingly well and I had zero line issue.
- So far these reels seem to be a great bang for the buck. Smooth and a nice drag.
- Super smooth drag that handles big reds and snook flawlessly. Paired it with a Gander Mountain Tournmanet mediam-heavy rod.
- Smooth action, excellent drag.
- These reels are absolutely fantastic. Reeling is as smooth as butter, the drag works without fault, and they perfectly match my ugly stick elite fishing rods.
- The drag works great and is easily adjustable on the fly.
- Terrific drag with a wide range of settings. Excellent build quality.
- Best deal for all metal Saltwater quality Spinning Reel, great drag for big fish.
- Good reel smooth drag and easy to cast.
- What I liked most is the smooth action, super strong and smooth drag! This reel is light and compact but able to handle larger fish in saltwater.
- As always, Shimano reels are great! Very smooth and balanced.
- Light, responsive. I really like the way the drag is easy to set.
- There is a serious problem with the geometry of this this reel.
- Great reel havent taken it out to fish yet but it is solid i love the fact it has an anti-reverse switch on it so you can backreel while using light lines.
- They have a great over-sized handle and hold a ton of 10-12 lb. test line.
- The handle, the bail the spool when felt with a little force held in place and indicated good design and craftsmen ship.
- Easy to spool new line and cast great even in strong wind.
- Anti-reverse broke after 3 weeks.
- The reel was used every day in saltwater for a week and it cleaned up very well ,so I guess the protective coating advertised works.
- Tip of reel crank handle is texturized, thick, flat, T-shaped with rounded top. This allows for a very strong grip when placed in the palm between ring finger & middle finger.
- Great value for money, strong enough drag to fish inshore and offshore. Smooth operation, and great a fast line retrieve.
- All I use is Shimano spinning reels and this one is just as good as my stradic for less. I would recommend to anyone, very smooth drag and action.
- Anti-reverse feature is permanent with no switch to manually reverse retrieve.
