Easy to set up and transfers backup files with ease. Very happy with this device.
The burner result is consistently very good with Verbatim blanks. The stand is solid and the burning noise is absolutely ok. It's not a noisemaker.
I can tell you that there are no limits of writes and readings for the various formats as it happens instead in the 12D model of asus a bit older.
The speed is good and everything works perfectly with the DVD-FAB software.
The computer recognizes the device and the software works - as far as I tried it. Backup software is certainly better. Great performance.

Write speed is acceptable even in case of slow 25GB BD-R M-Discs.
The write speeds are supposed to be good.
So far my impressions of this are good, it reads any blue ray movie I put in this and does it quickly.
The speed of this is incredible. Ripped a music CD in <1 minute, a full blue ray in 20 minutes. Very impressed.
During write with max speed is a little bit noisy, but all such a writers I know are.
One thing to be aware of is that this drive will read/write bluray media, but it will not play bluray movies without extra software (not included).

Compatibility with virtually every existing CD I think is the highlight of this device, which not only plays and burns in Blu-Ray.
The copy speed is extremely high and the USB 3.0 cable speeds up any communication between PC and Peripheral.
It's a great burner. I like that it supports a large number of different DVD discs.
I use it in a horizontal position, it gives me more security. And it has excellent read and write speed for all drives.
Amazing compatibility with many of my CDs.

BD writer meets its specification. Reads and writes all formats of discs I'm using (old CD-RW, DVD-RAM).
Great for ripping DVDs and CDs to your personal server.
I burn my CD, DVD, and BlueRay discs with it to create digital copy.
Plays DVD's very well, I have not copied a DVD or a Blue-ray yet, but I'm sure the quality will be just as good as the disc or file being copied.
Have not found a format that this unit and software would not handle.

I appreciate the fact that I can put it either horizontally or vertically thanks to the foot that clips very easily.
The stand was easy to put on and take off, yet the device and stand form a solid unit.
I like the overall design, the large luminaire is pleasantly bright and in beautiful blue, as well as the Activity LED.
Great design (certainly a matter of taste) and good workmanship.
Instantly recognized and integrated by Win 8, 64 bit. Sturdy stand.

You can mount the blu ray disk on the desktop like a drive for burning and also supports using Toast if you prefer.
This thing is fast. I have no comparison with other brands and models with USB 3.0, but this drive is worth every dollar, especially with its rebate, even if you only use it for backup.
It’s compatible with my Mac and it gets the job done.
I was surprised at how well this worked with both Windows and Mac.
A bit noisy on the tray opening and closing, like something might be rubbing or catching. But no other complaints at all.
