- I couldn’t find the specs on the Skybell. Ring seemed to have slightly higher video quality in the day and slightly higher audio quality but this may be subjective.
- The Ring video doorbell is a solid choice for people looking to get into smart home technology, and provides security, peace of mind, and ease of use that is not present in many other options at this price point.
- Overall the Ring video doorbell is a solid product. I took a star off for the video and audio quality, as they are nowhere near close to what is represented in marketing materials.
- Video quality is top notch with a wide field of view
- The video quality has nothing to do with my network speed or my internet speed, period. I'm not sure whether it's the camera itself or that Ring compresses the video to the point it's nearly useless, but either way it's a problem.
- This made a video doorbell very appealing to us. After a ton of research we decided the Ring Video Doorbell 2 would be the best choice.
- The install would have been easier if whoever installed the previous simple button had not broken off one of the wires.
- The video isn't always as clear as I would like it, but it's not bad. I don't know if the problem is with the wifi speed, the camera or what, but faces can be blurry sometimes.
- First, let me say that if you’re looking for a video doorbell, I assume it will do the trick, though the slow speed and lag time between ring and video connection makes it useless for anything except someone sitting and waiting at the door.
- The video quality is good when it works, which is usually. Sometimes it just records black.
- Interface to adjust sensitivity is intuitive
- Night vision is excellent too, great picture quality in the blackest of night.
- Fast notification (1 second instead of 5 seconds when i tested the defective one)
- The motion function engages when people are walking away, not when they walk up. MANY of my videos are of people's backsides.
- Deleting old videos are a bit of a chore, especially if you have lots of activations
- The design of the product is sleek and attractive and the user interface of the app is very easy to learn and navigate.
- This doorbell records for about 30 sec and is activated in one of three ways: by pressing the ring button, having motion, or pressing "live view" from your phone.
- The motion sensor always activates before anyone can get close enough to push the doorbell. I can set the radius of sensing somewhere between 6 ft to 30 ft.
- Motion sensitivity is controlled by distance and zones. It works perfectly with no false alarms.
- When battery starts to go dead, the unit triggers random motion sensor chimes that are confusing and annoying
