What customers say about "Key Specs"
Gibson ES-335 Traditional Semi Hollow Body Electric Guitar
- Guitar came well packaged and in perfect condition as described. Looks great, sounds great. Thanks!
- I have not found much this can't do, Les's and strats have their place but this is more of a do all for me. I can go from blues to heavy rock to country with just a quick flip and click.
- Fit finish, feel, tone, you name it. I really like the coil tap feature; going to single coil from humbucker. Great versatiliy.
- This guitar is perfect for leading worship music and eliminates the need most of the time to switch to an acoustic guitar because this thing sounds beautiful clean!
Gibson ES-339 Semi-Hollow-Body Electric Guitar
- More importantly it has the Tone you"d expect form a semi hollow. Actually even better than I expected. The cleans are so nice and it can really rock with the best of them when you turn up the gain.
- She plays, sounds, and looks like exactly what I was looking for. I'm very happy.
- The first session with this sexy beast felt smooth and familiar. The MHS Humbuckers seemed a bit more bright and punchy than the Burstbuckers in my 2016 335, but nothing that can"t be dialed down a bit on the amp, so I may build patches for each guitar separately.
- I’m so pleased with the custom shop 339 that I purchased on Reverb. All I did was a restring to Gibson 9s and a little tweaking and all is good!
- The ES-339 from Gibson's Custom Shop is one of the best guitars out there. The quality of the instrument you get for the price (especially on the used market) is unparalleled.

What customers say about "Size & Weight"
Gibson ES-335 Traditional Semi Hollow Body Electric Guitar
- The quality on the finish was amazing as well. I feel truly fortunate to have gotten such a great guitar.
- The neck was way too thin in profile for my liking, although others may find it comfortable.
- The neck was quite thick, but not necessarily uncomfortable, but I think I prefer a slim taper neck and P 90s for their clarity. I
- This is one good deal for a 335 style guitar. Body is comfortable with good neck action.
Gibson ES-339 Semi-Hollow-Body Electric Guitar
- The fit and finish was typical Gibson and definitely has that illusive 2% that a similarly equipped Epiphone is missing.
- The body size is perfect if you don't want to deal with the bulky ES-335 body and the 30/60 neck is outrageously comfortable for all playing styles.
- Putting looks aside from a Figured Top I favor the ES 339's size. It is everything my 335's are in a compact easy to carry size.
- My only issue is that it has “sticky neck” from the finish Gibson uses. Going to try some naphtha on it and see if that works. Otherwise this thing is a dream to play.

What customers say about "Materials"
Gibson ES-335 Traditional Semi Hollow Body Electric Guitar
- Brilliant finish color, neck profile, fingerboard radius. Playability is excellent .
- The finish is flawless. Color never seems the same as light hits it from different angles.
- Top quality workmanship. Seamless construction.
- The neck mohagany wood grain is just so warm and beautiful. But the amazing this is this baby sounds as great as it looks!
Gibson ES-339 Semi-Hollow-Body Electric Guitar
- This guitar is a thing of beauty. Perfect fit and finish. Looks even better in person.
- This 339 was very nice, but a few construction elements were not what I had hoped for, and pictures don't reveal: the satin finish just wasn't attractive to me, the finish and join areas between top and bindings and the neck and binding looks fuzzy,
- The double bound body, bound fretboard and semi-hollow aesthetics are all just icing on the cake.
- Gibson Memphis knocked it out of the park with this one. It ain't anyone's little nothing. This is the New Boss. The neck is mahogany butter.
- The craftsmanship is amazing. I love the tri-ply pickguard and the nitrocellulose finish is flawless.

What customers say about "Features"
Gibson ES-335 Traditional Semi Hollow Body Electric Guitar
- Still adapting to short scale neck after playing certain California guitars ! Overall it's an excellent deal at street price.
- Sustaining a single note or a full chord is effortless.
- Plugged in, the pickups sound great to me as is. I can't see the need to swap them out. Fit, finish way above what I expect in a budget import guitar.
Gibson ES-339 Semi-Hollow-Body Electric Guitar
- The Classic 57 Humbuckers change how you think about humbucking pickups with their beautifully smooth and sparkly tone.
- The Memphis electronics definitely make a differece and overall, this is the best of my guitars in the sonic department
- Thanks to the bone nut and some very fine machinery for that bridge, this baby stays in tune.
- This example has a flatter, smaller 30/60 carve than my 2007 had. I preferred the rounder neck, though I think the '59 neck would be too big for my smallish paws.
- Gibson ES339 Caramel Burst, overall it's a beautiful guitar, but I did have to have the frets leveled and dressed. Had some high spots in the upper frets making it hard to set up.
