- The cameras are wireless and super easy to install. The video is good quality.
- Wireless - this is a big one and is amazing. However, know that some of the CONs are a direct result of them being wireless. You kind of have to weigh your options - some of the wired cameras (even those from Arlo) may be superior if you can run wires.
- Good video quality - I have been impressed by the quality of the view during daylight and night vision. Expect about 10 feet of visibility at night (in terms of seeing someone's face - you'll be able to see further).
- Very easy setup and wire free and video and image are very clear.
- Slow on connecting on the camera through mobile and pc due to routing request to be connected first at Arlo's server/netgear network instead of direct connection to the camera.
- Doesn't record 24/7. Only activated by motion. If something happens outside its activation range, you won't see it.
- Picture quality is pretty good, especially for something powered by a pair of AAA batteries.
- Image quality during day is excellent. Night time usage isn't crystal clear, but I live in a dark area and still amazed at what I can see!
- No wires to deal with--great when you live in a house that can't easily run cabling or power.
- The resolution is clear day and night. Actually captures people walking onto my porch, not as they're walking away (like the Ring did).
- Picture in night mode is sub par for a 1080P camera (my $60 960P Amcrest camera's perform much better night mode).
- No ability to zoom in which renders the 1080P resolution pretty worthless.
- Relatively inexpensive, compact, easy to set up.
- Good compact small camera size makes it easy to hide it.
- Compact footprint, good user interface, good app interface, decent resolution.
- The magnetic mount that comes with is ok, but the weight of the camera makes it tough to get just the right angle.
- It's really, really easy to set up. Cameras are really small and light.
- Very compact and inconspicuous. Love the no-wires feature. Would be perfect if it had live view.
- Like the easy set up and compact size of the unit. Picture is clear and sharp.
- The camera is compact, and easy to mount interior and exterior.
- Super easy set-up, color and clarity are great, night vision is very good, wireless compact device.
- The motion detection is pretty solid as long as you spend some time tweaking the settings for your situation (Playing around with the sensitivity is key).
- The iOS app is easy to use and only the occasional glitch when wanting to disable the camera sometimes.
- The setup is easy and I haven't had any glitches with the cam communicating with the base station.
- The free cloud backup for the last week seems more than adequate for general purposes. A week should be long enough to realize if you need to keep a particular clip, and if you do, you can easily download it in the app and it puts it in the Photos app on your phone.
- The app has some bugs (for example I found that sometimes if you just change 1 setting, it won't be saved), but so far I've found workarounds for most of the bugs.
- Live viewing the cameras isn't instant - from the Android app or the website, there is definitely about a 5 second lag time.
- Battery life is limited - 4-6 months is what I heard, although for my purposes (about 1 minute of recording a day), it looks like it will be on the lower end of that with 4 months. A firmware upgrade out of box stole about ~8% of my total life.
- Snapshot option and live view. Easy to set times for arm/disarm.
- Reliable connection during the week plus I have it (much less bandwidth demanding than Ring doorbell for example for the same picture quality).
- Can choose between battery operation or microUSB power.
- WIFI Range--very good. I have one camera at the front of the house and the other camera about 100 feet away on the front of the garage.
- This is a big one - no motion zones. This severely limits placement of the camera.
- Live view takes too long to load (over 10 seconds at times).
- Cameras do not handle shooting into bright light--for example, my front porch is 8 feet deep and sometimes the cameras have a static white balance and people can appear dark once they come onto the porch.
