- NOAA and SAR were very responsive to get my unit registered and I feel safer having it in the boat.
- Works well and as described, would recommend this product to future buyers.
- Well made and priced right for this item.
- My only problem was that the registration number on the PLB was ' already taken' according to the registration bureau for such devices.
- USA registration with code country USA. It is not free to update the code to register it in another country.
- Here is something I did not know, and no one has seemed to mention. If you use this device in an actual emergency the company will replace the device for FREE.
- Lightweight and compact and gives peace of mind. Hope never have to use it.
- Overall, it appears well built and with the one time purchase price of about $250 it is the least expensive of all such devices for a 5 year term.
- The unit I received was 4 years old. This is unacceptable given the cost and the fact that the battery only has a shelf life of 8-10 years.
- All of the reviews appear to support the usefulness of this product as a personal locator beacon.
- I think this is the best product (personal locating beacon) for this price range on the market today.
- It's the size of an old cell phone (1990s version) and is easy to use.
- Service. When your battery needes to be changed the charge is is 100.00 dollars for battery assembled in mexico and labor is 80.00 total of 180.00 to open 4 screw and unplug battery.
- The carrying bracket is not robust enough for me to use it.
- If you use this device in an actual emergency (life threatening or immanent danger) the company will replace the device for FREE.
- The battery replacement date is on the back, and the test instructions are just as easy as the activation instructions.
- This is a one use item. Once you use it, you have to send it back to the manufacturer to replace the battery.
- And the power button and the test button are next to each other and look identical.
- The fact that it is waterproof, and floats is invaluable considering that even if you are hiking, it could still get wet.
- Bought for my mother who goes deep into the mountains where there is NO cell coverage. This will add a level of saftey hopefully never needed.
- Thankfully haven't had to use it, but I sure feel better knowing it's there when your 80 plus miles out in the ocean. Every angler that ventures offshore needs to carry a personal EPRIB.
- This item will not only summon help but also reveal his location!
- The TEST email notification feature is priceless. I used to keep my family updated on my trip to Bermuda. Worked flawlessly.
- My boat capsized offshore at 11:31 am. I turned on the signal. The colonel from the coast guard called my wife in the next 2-3 minutes to confirm that I was out fishing. The coast guard helicopter was sent to my location immediately. The helicopter was there very soon.
- this is a great item, only issue I had was registration in Australia, I had to have the PLB reprogrammed to meet Australian apporval which was not cheap to do.
- Girlfriend had a broken shoulder but not to worry I had a beacon. So instead of asking a random stranger to drive her to emergency room I figured I would use my beacon and after waiting 1 hr realized it didn't work at all.
