- What a simple and great knife sharpener. Never had a knife sharpener. But used this to sharpen all of my dozen or so high-end Shun kitchen knives in about 30 minutes.
- I'm only giving it 4 stars because it is not a 3 stage system, it is a 2 stage system that works with 2 different blade types. Deliberately misleading advertising otherwise this would be a solid 5 stars.
- After trying a dozen or more different types of knife sharpeners over the years (disappointed with all) I dwecided to try this one after seeing a review on public television. IT WORKS ! Simple to use and FAST.
- Went fast and easy and most importantly, put great edges on each knife type. Great product!
- This product does a great job of sharpening all types of knives.
- Love this model. Works for Santoku knives. I resharpened a couple of mine and they cut better than when I bought them.
- It works very well on both pocket knives and kitchen knives.
- I now have razor sharp knives. It didn't take 25 back and forth strokes as mentioned in the instructions, but more like 250 initially for the European knives and 50 for the Japanese ones that are thinner.
- We have a set of Asian kitchen knives that I picked up on sale at Home Goods and we love them. But I never seemed to be able to return them to their original sharpness, until now.
- This is my favorite kitchen knife sharpener. Have tried different ones and this is the best value for the price, time, and energy spent on sharpening.
- I use this every day with my kitchen knives with the polishing grove. It's quick and quiet yet keeps my knives very sharp.
- It's put a very sharp edge on every knife I've used it on so far, but it's not necessarily the prettiest edge due to the micro abrasions it leaves behind.
- Even though these are German knives, I used the 15 degree setting to get them extra sharp. Plus, I think these Wusthovs are originally made at 14 degrees anyhow.
- hun Knives with 16 Degree will work well. They say it will change the angle, but its so minimal that it own't be noticeable under any circumstance.
- The European and American cooking knives are sharpened at a 20-degree angle.
- Works great! Love the three angles too! Perfect for any kitchen knife.
- Functions as promised and sharpens knives much better than stone methods.
- The guides help to keep the blade centered and the sharpening surfaces work both sides of the edge equally.
- This one has diamond surfaced wheels, so it should last much longer. This sharpener gave my worn=down Wusthof chef's knife a keen edge with little effort.
- The only downside is that the edge imparted by the sharpener is short, making it better suited to maintaining a good edge than restoring a lost edge.
- So small, it stores in a drawer for handy access. Sharpens both sides of the blade on both forward and backward strokes.
- Works great. Instructions are for a right-handed person, but the unit can be turned around and used just as effectively for a left-handed person.
- Works with the knife in the right hand. Not easy for lefthand people.
- Easy to use even as a left handed person. Does a good job for the price.
- The only cons I find with this manual model is that it takes longer than an electric to sharpen a very dull knife, that said, it has eventually sharpened every knife I have tried, no matter how dull, wicked sharp.
- Light weight construction but does the job quickly. You will need to experiment with the amount of knife pressure in each of the stages.
- This is super easy and safe to use. When you first get it, you may need to swipe it through 50+ times to get an edge back but once you do it is very easy to keep it sharp.
- Very easy to use. and it feels better than the last ones I bought and used ... maybe the guide is better or the grind, just feels better.
- It's compact, light, easy to use. The sharpener worked as expected.
- This manual sharpener is easy to use, relatively quick, and effective.
