- Love this model. Works for Santoku knives. I resharpened a couple of mine and they cut better than when I bought them.
- It works very well on both pocket knives and kitchen knives.
- I now have razor sharp knives. It didn't take 25 back and forth strokes as mentioned in the instructions, but more like 250 initially for the European knives and 50 for the Japanese ones that are thinner.
- We have a set of Asian kitchen knives that I picked up on sale at Home Goods and we love them. But I never seemed to be able to return them to their original sharpness, until now.
- This is my favorite kitchen knife sharpener. Have tried different ones and this is the best value for the price, time, and energy spent on sharpening.
- Does a great job of keeping a nice edge on kitchen knives and my fillet knives. Also works on serrated blades.
- I have this one and the axe/machete version as well. These are great sharpeners that make very short work of getting blades sharp.
- Takes about 20 secs per knife to restore a great edge.
- It's also the only "pull-through" style sharpener that lets you adjust the angle. I feel this performs better than my other sharpeners and my knives are sharper.
- This is a great sharpener. It's evened out my blades and even has a guide in the casing+ on the sharpener itself with the best angles for different kinds of knives.
- Works great! Love the three angles too! Perfect for any kitchen knife.
- Functions as promised and sharpens knives much better than stone methods.
- The guides help to keep the blade centered and the sharpening surfaces work both sides of the edge equally.
- This one has diamond surfaced wheels, so it should last much longer. This sharpener gave my worn=down Wusthof chef's knife a keen edge with little effort.
- The only downside is that the edge imparted by the sharpener is short, making it better suited to maintaining a good edge than restoring a lost edge.
- The adjustable sharpening angles makes it a very versatile sharpener. Much easier to use than the kits with multiple stones and clamp system which holds the knife at the desired angle.
- Light, straight strokes at 14 to 24 degree angles with the coarse slot will put a new edge on the sword, while the fine ceramic slot will smooth out/bone the cutting edge.
- There are angles appropriate for everything from kitchen knives to survival knives to combat knives.
- Put a really sharp edge on all of my knives. Really like that it can sharpen serrated edges.
- This provides the right angle to use with a kitchen knives to hunting knifes. I use this to keep my every day carry knife sharp and ready for use.
- Light weight construction but does the job quickly. You will need to experiment with the amount of knife pressure in each of the stages.
- This is super easy and safe to use. When you first get it, you may need to swipe it through 50+ times to get an edge back but once you do it is very easy to keep it sharp.
- Very easy to use. and it feels better than the last ones I bought and used ... maybe the guide is better or the grind, just feels better.
- It's compact, light, easy to use. The sharpener worked as expected.
- This manual sharpener is easy to use, relatively quick, and effective.
- This Smith's sharpener is easy to learn and use, and it's possible to sharpen a knife within a minute.
- The adjustment feature is smooth and works well however i was unimpressed with some of the results.
- Adjustable angle feature makes it versatile in being able to sharpen different type of knives for different purposes, not just kitchen knives.
- Also, haven't had to replace the stones yet, but I like that feature, the ability to replace just the stones you need, seems like a nice touch, although like I said, I haven't had to do that yet personally.
- I like the adjustable feature and it is a lot quicker to use than the Chefs Choice. Your knives will slice a tomato, without crushing, just as thin as the amazing knives advertised on TV.
