- This is a great product! I was worried that a 1080p image would look poor when projected at 100". This projector proved me wrong!
- Video games and animated movies look awesome!
- Contrast is much better than BenQ playing movies.
- Bright image even with sunlight peeking through
- Watching TV on it through XBox One looks good but when watching sports I do notice some motion blur when the screen pans very fast. I have messed with frame interpolation setting but it still exists.
- Great image good colors, good light can use in lightly lit room. Great for gaming since there is very minimal lag
- You can still get better color/image quality from an LCD/plasma/LED/OLED TV, but it would cost thousands to get a picture as big as a projector makes.
- Epson uses LCD while Optoma and BenQ use DLP. According to the sources I've read, the big rap on LCD projectors, is that they often don't have the best black levels.
- Very good projector, great resolution, I had difficulties using the wifi with apple devices, even using the app iproject it does not reproduce videos of the internet properly.
- Black levels not the best, its because it is a lcd. use with a good paint gray tone and it will fix this problem.
- Didn't work well in a moderately lighted room. It has a low contact ratio for details, only 20k:1. It is better to get something North of 70k:1
- Whereas the Epson 2040 projects a 90” wide image. That means the Epson 2040 provides a bigger image than the 1040 at a shorter distance, thus is more living room (or even bedroom) friendly.
- After I booted it up, I was blown away by how vibrant and crisp the image looked. After using this, I don't think I'll watch on anything smaller than 100". I also have a 50" 4k TV (without HDR), and I would still rather watch a movie using the 1080p projector.
- The color tone is much much better than the BenQ playing movies.
- Looks great even when projecting directly onto a wall. I haven't put our screen up yet, and just have it aimed at a muted green wall.
- Image dimming effect based on amount of white/ black on screen
- Awesome Picture Quality. These images are the ones projected on a light brown wall (not even on a Projector screen). This is my first projector and I am really impressed. :)
- Incredible colors and great contrast right out of the box. the image looks incredibly sharp and crisp.
- Nice projector for our theater for the price as well. The fan is very quiet and produce a quality image on the screen.
- It lacks in aspect ratio funtionality and size adjustment but if read the size and installation guide van figure it out easily. Totally recommended.
- Also, regardless of source, I have been unable to change the aspect ratio on anything. It stays on Normal without the other 3 greyed out. Is that normal?
- Epson fan is quiet and I think slightly quieter than Ben Q.
- Fan is relatively quiet. I sit right below it and don't notice it when watching a show
- Plenty of settings to make any viewing situation work (including in room flooded with daylight--not ideal, but we were able to do it)
- No Lens Shift. I wish I would have researched this more when I made the purchase.
- Speaker is terrible compared to the BenQ only if it's your only source to get sound.
- Lamp life could be better
- The Best part of it is auto keystone, such low fan noise that you will hardly notice and a fantastic speaker.
- Fantastic projector for the price. The fan is a little loud if you have it in the highest quality mode, but the lower mode is almost indistinguishable and still light years better than most other projectors. This is the perfect addition to my home theater. I couldn't be happier.
- Easy to set up. Easy to use. Fan a bit noisy, but if you have sound on, then you probably won't hear it.
- Speakers are worst (10W mono) compared to competitors (10Wx2)
- I have read some reviews that say that the fan can be quite loud. I have found that after it has run for a couple weeks and it breaks in, it is quite quiet. (Ha, ha, ha!)
- Using the Epson EasyMP Monitor and Network Projection software, you can remotely access and control the projector. The USB Display connection allows a PC to connect without using the VGA port.
- Easy to set up each time with a very easy-to-adjust front leg & two adjustable back legs
- Easy to mount to ceiling when you buy a universal mount
- The USB Display connection allows a PC to connect without using the VGA port. You can also connect a USB device (such as a flash drive, camera or smartphone) or external drive (must be formatted in FAT or FAT32) and use the projector’s PC Free feature to view compatible images or movies.
- Was very easy to ceiling mount, we use on a 120" screen, connected to our AV receiver fantastically. Zero issues. 100% satisfied.
- I connect my satellite box or Chromecast to the HDMI port or connect my phone through WiDi to watch movies, sports, and TV shows. Great picture quality, and horizontal and vertical keystone settings allow me to fine tune the picture on my inflatable screen.
- I love it, it does everything I need. I have some videos on USB storage and this would not play through the USB port so I run them thru my Smart 3D Blu Ray player then HDMI to this HC 2045, it even controls my Blu Ray with the Epson remote.
- No digital audio out which I could have used with my Sound Bar instead of RCA
- Mounting is difficult as it has three holes for screws, one in the middle and 2 at the front corners. Universal mount may not work.
- One thing I found frustrating was trying to use the Bluetooth feature. Neither My Bluetooth speaker nor my Bluetooth headphones would connect.
