The KastKing was not only $20+ cheaper, but also outperforms the Abu Garcias on every level - Less backlashes, smoother reeling, further casting distances.
Using a mid depth crank bait the reel cast very easy and the retrieve was nice and fast.
This reel is smooth on both the cast and retrieve. Setup was easy and it work very well.
The price is very competitive comparing to similar products. With 11 bearings, the action of the reel is very smooth.
Overall this reel runs real smooth. 17.5lbs of drag 11+1 ball bearings and good magnetic breaks.

Abu Garcia BMAX-C Max Low-Profile Baitcast Fishing Reel

One of the biggest advantages of the more expensive reels is they have more ball bearings, which will give them an even smoother feel.
It's very smooth, casts far, and is very durable and dependable.
The reel is super smooth and has lots of fine adjustment for drag. Outfitted with 8lbs mono line, it can hold a ton of it.
Excellent reel, using it with 50lb braid line and have no backlashing issues unless it's completely my fault.
The thing I like the best about the Black Max is that it is an extremely smooth operating reel and threads up the line extremely nearly.

It made a pretty good run after hook was set, the drag was smooth and effective.
The drag is excellent and you can adjust the drag with ease using the star drag.
The royale legend has a decent drag wheel so you won’t lose your settings by accident very cool feature.
This is a pretty decent reel for the money. High gear ratio, strong drag, magnetic and centrifugal brake.
Solidly built, smooth drag, more adjustable than many others...and they are available in left hand retrieve!!

Abu Garcia BMAX-C Max Low-Profile Baitcast Fishing Reel

If you're a beginner, trust me, the Black Max should be your first baitcaster. It's smooth, casts far, and has plenty of drag.
The two different cast-drag settings, one on either side, are easy to maneuver, and the idea is that you set it for your own style of casting.
Price and quality are both very good. The reel is super smooth and has lots of fine adjustment for drag.
Works without issue, very smooth operation and good drag system.
Fit and finish are superb, decent weight, very smooth retrieve, smooth drag.

The reel itself fits perfect in my hand and when reeling in..... its like butter. I’ve never used a reel so smooth.
The reels operation is extremely fluid, not just smooth but fluid.
Very smooth reel and great magnetic brake system.
The magnetic brake is a nice feature and the adjustment clicks for each turn.
My first 7.0:1 reel. Smooth crank and really like the dual braking system.

Abu Garcia BMAX-C Max Low-Profile Baitcast Fishing Reel

The smooth drag and retrieve makes this reel easy to use and the braking system works very well once adjusted for the lure or bait size/weight.
Once you dial in the brakes, cast and fine tune, this thing will fling all day with no fuss.
The retrieve is incredibly smooth and fast. The reel itself is very light weight and comfortably fits your hand.
It is relatively light weight, very ergonomic, looks good, and is smooth on the retrieve, outclassed only by reels over the $100 price point.
I have never cleaned or oiled the bmax, and was blown away at how well it casted and the retrieve smoothness.
