- Extremely far range. Your range will be further in the winter and shorter in the summer. This has to do with how the signal travels through colder air, compared to warmer air.
- Very convenient screen. The screen immediately lets you know what is going on with your vehicle.
- I can't say enough good things about this unit. The range is super long, I can start my vehicle from inside stores and the 2-way display tells me that it started successfully, no guesswork.
- The range is amazing for what it is even when you're inside a building EXCEPT if the building is an older structure with 40 layers of lead and asbestos.
- The screen is easily scratched. An easy fix - cut an iPhone screen protector with a sharp blade to fit onto your remote.
- 2 years later the display remote shows a blank screen.
- This alarm is great, I installed it in a 97 silverado works like it should but the 1 mile range is a bit exaggerated probably like 1/4 mile range.
- Range is phenomenal - in fact I just stopped what I was doing to comment on this. I'm on the 14th floor of a library - my truck is a good 15 walk from the library.
- The range is amazing and the 2-way function let's her know her car is running when she hits the button.
- All in all, very reliable, quality product. Happy with range, and vast amount of install versatility it provides.
- Wow, am I sorry I purchased this alarm. 2-way remote with advertised 1 mile range? I don't think so, try 200 ft., maybe. The 2-way remote kills a fresh set of 2016 batteries over night.
- The range isn't that great....I park a block away from my apartment and this thing has trouble picking up the sensor when I try to lock it from home. I am disappointed.
- Once installed the range is great and the remotes feel solid my only complaint is the buttons are easily accidentally pressed.
- Long lasting battery. I charge mine every 3 weeks or so, but can last much longer.
- The remote, despite DEI's own advertising info, has a new MICRO-USB (NOT MINI!) charging port.
- Levels of arming. Silent arm, defogger switch, sensor bypass, temperature request (inside cabin of vehicle) and many more! Search Google for "Viper advanced commands".
- I also like how the alarm comes with a shock sensor that is fully adjustable, and is not attached to the mother brain.
- I can't believe that its 2013 and we still only have the bitwriter as a programming option (hello USB to PC!)
- Some times has strange issues with remote start. Maybe twice a month it starts the truck and shuts it off giving an error on the remote. The rest of the time it works great.
- Great 2-way alarm. My favorite feature is the long range transmitter. I paired my viper with the smart start module for the ultimate security system for my 2014 Toyota Avalon. Totally satisfied!
- The remote start is great. But the pit stop mode is awesome! You can leave your car running while locked to go grab something from the house or store real quick.
- Has a smart sequence before remote start can even be activated on a MT vehicle so don't worry about pressing a button while your parked car is in gear and watching it roll away.
- The only downside of this unit is that it does not open all doors with unlock feature like a factory unit might. overall a great product.
- Dont expect to install yourself. had it installed by professional. works great when it works and is really cool to have. just have some intermittent issues with remote starting system.
