- I had no problems with resolution, the player always displayed a resolution of 1080.
- The resolution exceeds all my expectations. Great player that makes me happy every day.
- Please note there is no in built Wi-fi. This model is "wi-fi ready" where you'll have to buy an adapter from Sony.
- This unit does not have built in Wi-Fi, but after reading product reviews on all major brands of Blu-Ray players, streaming video through Wi-Fi is commonly problematic.
- The "resolution" setting for the component video output, which goes up to 1080p, is a lie - you always get 480p!
- Excellent resolution that does not fall below 1080. Very happy with the purchase.
- With this player, watching my favorite films has become amazing. The resolution is amazing.
- Resolution at a high level among analogues. Constantly produces 1080. Very easy to configure.
- It's not a 3D player, so if you want to watch a 3D Blu-ray movie you'll need to get a more expensive unit like the BDP-S480.
- I was very disappointed that this player does not have built-in Wi-Fi and the Internet is very unstable.
- Good functional remote but made better by the Android/iphone BD REMOTE app! It is great!
- Excellent internet apps - Netflix plays so beautifully, browsing through my instant queue is better than in Roku! I retired Roku after buying this. Pandora and Amazon Video to boot.
- DLNA Support: Great! I was reading some reviews that said things don't work. I can say it WORKS GREAT!
- Disc (Blu Ray) load is fast, takes merely 7-8 seconds. I connected the player to my router through the Ethernet cable and everything works.
- The BD REMOTE app: doing a fast forward/skip/rewind while playing Netflix is very difficult to manipulate; it would have been good, if Sony has provided a scroll bar like volume control.
- Streaming performance is excellent, too. I have the 380 hard-wired to my router so I don't have to deal with wi-fi problems.
- It's a great player for watching Blu-ray movies and it also has BRAVIA Internet Video for Web features like streaming ABC iView video on demand.
- Performance-wise this player is fantastic. Blu-rays and DVDs load quickly and play flawlessly.
- After three years my original BD player, a Sony BDP-S380, started having problems loading certain Blu-ray discs, saying UNKNOWN on the front display.
- My ONLY complaint is that DVD Studio Pro won't burn to a Bru-ray disc. At least if it does, I haven't found the trick.
- Plays Bluray's great, quick loads (very important), nice crisp picture via HDMI. Sony always seems to do video really really well.
- The "How to Train" blu-ray visual output quality is has stunning detail. Picture quality is well saturated, good black level, no flickering or jumpiness.
- The picture is fine and the stereo sound output is good for those who are two channel fans.
- I connected using HDMI from blu-ray out to Sony TV and used the optical cable to go from blu-ray out to receiver. It was unforgettable.
- It only has a digital audio output so you will not get surround sound audio for your video without that cable and a surround sound unit that has a digital audio input.
- Its outputs are crisp and solid, its user interface is staight-forward and easy to understand, and its physical size, shape, and appearance should fit in anywhere.
- HDMI connectivity reduces cable clutter compared with legacy RCA connections between DVD and TV.
- The picture outputs very high quality and beautiful. I use an HDMI cable and it shows excellent performance.
- Optical output - there isn't one, so if you need this, the S380 is the wrong player for you.
- Cannot get this player to play Blu-Ray Discs on component output with 1080i to an older Philips HD TV that only takes 1080i.
