What customers say about "Key Specs"
Fenix PD35-1 Flashlight
  • Almost a year and the light is still working, nothing broke and everything functions as usual. Dropped it a few times so it has some small scratches and dings on it.
  • The other produced a very nice bright white light that lacked a clear border or definition. There is clearly a Quality Control issue here.
  • This Fenix PD 35 is small in size but big on power. The ability of the PD35 to retain the power level desired when first turned on is a great benefit.
  • One note...the light on the top few modes is VERY, VERY bright. This is not a toy. If you use it in those modes, never point it at any eyes (human or pet).
  • I keep this light on a night stand at night. Because of it's brightness and it's ability to strobe, this is a tactical light, "my bump in the night light." should I have to grab a personal defense weapon to go with it, as well as a general purpose light.
Streamlight ProTac HL-X (88065) 1,000 Lumen Professional Tactical Flashlight
  • I have had this light for about 2 years , and have found it to be an excellent light for the price.
  • It’s obvious the engineer’s paid close attention to the optics, as it has a nice spot with seamless spillover for great peripheral vision.
  • All I can say is wow. For the money, this Streamlight tops Surefire. Sorry, Surefire fanboys. But at this price, the thousand lumens, and Streamlight's customer service... they've got it dialed in at the moment.
  • This is like my 6th 7th Streamlight product. Keep coming back because they are great. Great build quality as expected. Nice extremely bright center beam mixed with a wide bright flood light just like the other ProTacs.
  • Great quality flashlight fits nicely in hand. Well worth the price, but the 1000 lumen rating is questionable.

What customers say about "Size & Weight"
Fenix PD35-1 Flashlight
  • It is a great, well built EDC flashlight, and has been on my side since it arrived a couple of weeks ago.
  • The flashlight is of very high quality as with all Fenix Flashlights. The price is well worth the bucks for brightness, quality of light, fit and finish, compactness, light weight, and toughness.
  • If you want a bright light in a small package this is the light for you!
  • This Fenix PD 35 is small in size but big on power.
  • I did a lot of research on different pocket size lights as I was selecting a light for EDC.
Streamlight ProTac HL-X (88065) 1,000 Lumen Professional Tactical Flashlight
  • I love how bright this light is for it's size. I work in mass transit and use my lights many times during early A.M. or late P.M. hours.
  • I've had this piece for about 10 days now. I love how bright this light is for it's size.
  • I also enjoy having the pouch and its size, it is almost as shine as my full size department issued Streamlight.
  • My old one was at the peak the size and quality however the many years has allowed the lesser models to catch up.
  • Been looking for a nice pocket sized flash light to use on my job doing attic inspections, but this has now become an EDC.

What customers say about "Features"
Fenix PD35-1 Flashlight
  • Rubber brightness button works without malfunctioning and the rubber hasnt deteriorated or broken off yet.
  • The on/off switch is located on the tail of the light, and there are raised edges surrounding it, so it's less likely to be turned on by a stray bump.
  • Its tactical mode is great, with easy access to all other modes by using the switch near the front of the flashlight.
  • The PD35 also has a mode change button on the barrel, a much more logical and convenient place to toggle between brightness modes once the light is on.
  • I don't much care for the mode button on the front but I got used to it.
Streamlight ProTac HL-X (88065) 1,000 Lumen Professional Tactical Flashlight
  • This flashlight also has the right modes, especially for a tactical light or a work light. I
  • Excellent little light ( ProTac HL-X ). The TapTen programming lets you enable and disable lighting modes you don't use.
  • Took a while to realize that the button press needed to do the ten-tap programming is a light button press.
  • I have had a few times where I've presses the button and it hasn't turned on and then I press again and it strobes but that has been far and few between
  • The one downside is the beam is not adjustable. You can't get a really wide flood, but the fixed beam does have a nice spotlight in the middle with a good transition of illumination to the edges. No visible halo edges or dark spots.

What customers say about "Power"
Fenix PD35-1 Flashlight
  • This flashlight also provides very long run times on all modes (over an hour @ 800 lumens).
  • This is a very well built device. The brightness is excellent and it takes 18650 batteries in addition to CR123A's. That means you can recharge the batteries.
  • I used the same batteries at the same level of charge and in the same environment, etc.
  • My only complaint is that I wish it would just drain the battery completely instead of switching off after 4-5 minutes when it's on turbo mode.
  • I'd recommend buying the 3.7 rechargeable Lithium Ion batteries b/c you're not just going to run out to the store and grab some CR123A batteries.
Streamlight ProTac HL-X (88065) 1,000 Lumen Professional Tactical Flashlight
  • This sucker is bright, very well built, and boasts respectable battery life.
  • Streamlight has finally adopted rechargable 18650 batteries with this ProTac model. Nice they finally added a medium power setting.
  • Battery life seems to be good, I haven't drained the ones that came with it. You can also use 18650 batteries if you want rechargeable "high capacity" batteries.
  • This light is less than 1000 lumens and it burns through batteries with limited use.
  • I could buy two possibly three lights like these for the price of the brand I was using before, and those did not use recharging batteries, only CR123...so cost was killing me.
