I chose MAGLITE for a reason. What I like most is they're size, rugged durability, design & great price.
It is very durable and the metallic gray finish is just plain sexy.
Seems very durable, I have dropped it a couple times and so far no issue and it is pretty heavy, which I like in my main flashlight.
This flashlight is, like all maglites, built like a tank. It's got a nice heft to it and feels very solid. It is about 12 inches tall and 1 inch diameter at the base.
This flashlight is incredible, and a fraction of the cost and weight of that old portable spotlight we had years ago.

Got this for my house in case the power goes out. It's also a very heavy and heft flashlight - great if you are camping or outside alone and need some protection.
It is so well-made and sturdy. You could kill someone with this.

The construction of the body is all aluminum. I have had no problems with the threads stripping out, or anything else on it.
There is also rubber seals in pretty much all of the joints, to seal, and keep the water out very well.
The head is adjustable, so you can adjust the beam, from pinpoint, to wide angle.
I have other maglite flashlights, that I have dropped in the water, and never had any problems with water getting in them. I would guess that these would be no different.
The rubber on the switch is pretty well made too. I have had no problems with it leaking, tearing, or coming off.

Nice metal construction and bright as you need. "Zoomable" beam by turning front bezel.
The adjustable beam is truly potent- now an LED bulb is used.
I've used Maglite flashlights for many years and love the durability and ability to focus the light beam as desired for the situation.
It is also possible to focus the beam by rotating the front bezel, which is a nice and useful feature.
Very bright light and strong aluminum body. It is a bit large and heavy however in order to hold the 3 D batteries, but this was exactly what I was looking for.

The ST2P096, ST2D096, and STP036 LED flashlights all outshine traditional incandescent-bulb lights, and use less power (last longer).
I use these with rechargeable 10,000mah D cells and they perform fantastic
It uses 2 economical-D cell batteries which last a very long time in this flashlight and the flashlight uses the LED technology that is so robust.
If you are looking for a strong, durable, long lasting flashlight.....go with maglite, they have been around for many years.
If you want a 2D cell "standard" sized flashlight, you would be hard pressed to find better. I bought two, and will probably order more as gifts!

I got the 3 cell, blue flashlight, for my self. I have been using these flashlights for years, and I have never really had any real complaints with them
3 D size batteries seems like a good match between size and capacity, but for sure this isn't a pocket model.
These 3 D-cell mag-lites have about 80hrs of life with a set of batteries compared to 6.75hrs with the 2 D-cell ones.
The 3 cell is barely larger and has wayyy more life
The 3-cell D flashlight is a great inside/outside flashlight, although using 3 D batteries does add some weight to it.
