Top Performance
Anyone familiar with the Razer brand of computers and accessories will know that this company doesn't cater to the low-end with any of its products. This remains true with one of their latest laptops, the Razer Blade 15 Base Gaming Laptop. Thanks to their commitment to serving those with higher-end needs in the market, this laptop is an ideal choice both for gamers and for those who use applications with high-end PC requirements. The use of powerful hardware is reflected in the price, especially when compared to the other laptops in this review, but the specs of this hardware also far surpass what you will find with many other laptops even in its price range.
With laptops, there often is a compromise between total system performance and its overall portability, which largely depends on form factor as well as battery life. With this laptop, you actually get the best of both worlds. The aluminum unibody frame of this laptop gives it both a slim and lightweight design, with the system being less than 1 inch thick when closed. The powerful battery also gives you plenty of juice for running even intensive applications for hours. Even the display and keyboard are excellent choices here, with the 144hz display giving you fast refreshes that can keep up with fast gaming, and the lighted keyboard providing a truly comfortable typing experience.
Cool Runnings
Something else that often gets overlooked in laptops yet is equally important to any other factor is the cooling system. An inadequate cooling system can cause a laptop to run hot and thus limit its performance, while noisy fans can quickly become a distraction to serious work. The cooling system on this laptop was given top priority, allowing the system to run at reasonable temperatures while at full speed, and the fans are almost completely silent. This allows you to utilize the system to its maximum potential without the worries that often accompany powerful laptops.
Speaking of the system's power, the 6-Core 10th Generation Intel Core i7-10750H processor pairs nicely with the RTX 2070 graphics card, and will help you to achieve the highest level of performance in most modern games as well as with processor and graphics-intensive applications. Paired with the 16GB of RAM and 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD, you can run multiple apps at once without worries of the system becoming bogged down.
If we have any gripes here about this model, it would be that its overall specs haven't changed much since the 2019 revision of this laptop. Having said that, though, this model will still give you serious performance that will meet or exceed the needs of anyone.

Powerful Mid-Range Laptop
Not everyone has the budget to afford a high-end laptop. In the past, this could be problematic for many people who needed desktop-class power in their portable system, but those days are thankfully long gone. Nowadays, it is quite easy to find a decent mid-range level laptop for an affordable price, which is exactly what you get with the HP i5-1035G1 15.6" HD Touchscreen Premium Laptop. For much less than the $1,000 dollar mark, you get a powerful laptop with the latest mid-range Intel Core i5 processor along with decent amounts of RAM and storage, giving you a very capable system that should handle almost every task with ease.
What can people expect to accomplish with a mid-rage laptop of this caliber? There really are very few limits that most people will run into when using this particular model. For example, AAA games will likely run on the lowest settings, but most older titles will run very quickly. In addition, you get good built-in Wi-Fi even when the laptop is located at a great distance from the router. The build quality and overall composition of the components make this a premium computer for the office, as well as an acceptable laptop for all but the most hardcore PC gamers.
Touchscreen Convenience
As stated before, the specs of this laptop are definitely nothing to sneeze at. The system features the powerful 10th Generation quad-core Intel Core i5035g1 processor, which is paired with 16GB of RAM as well as a 512GB SSD, all of which go together to give you lightning-fast performance even with heavy-duty apps as well as decent gaming performance for all but the most demanding games. This is all complemented by a 15.6-inch touchscreen LED screen that renders colors with high contrast and vivid colors. On the downside, the screen's resolution is limited to 1366 x 768 resolution, which may frustrate those who need more screen real estate for their work. However, this can be mitigated by connecting a large monitor to the system through the included HDMI port.
Speaking of ports, you get a good mix for letting you connect any external devices that you need, including 2 USB Type-A ports, a USB Type-C port, connectors for headphones and mic, as well as an SD card reader. Along with these, you get the integrated WiFi adapter for connecting to wireless networks. The powerful battery will also let you use the system for hours on end, so you can get your work done or keep yourself entertained to your heart's content. At the end of the day, this powerful mid-range laptop will be an excellent bargain for those who need plenty of power without emptying their bank account.

Powerful Budget Laptop
Not everyone needs a high-end laptop that costs an arm and a leg. For many of us, a good budget laptop is just what we need. In fact, most budget models are able to suitably handle most basic tasks without running into any trouble, which is what most users who are looking for a budget model really require. Anything else on top of that is just gravy. With the Acer Aspire 5 (A515-43-R19L) 15.6" FHD IPS Display Laptop, you actually get a pretty powerful system that gives you more than enough power for handling basic tasks and light gaming, which is much more than what most users expect from such a system.
Stylish Design
Despite the fact that this is a budget laptop, it is actually one of the nicer-looking models on our list. It also stands out for its low power consumption, giving you up to 7.5 hours of battery life on a full charge. This model also has a few features that are not commonly found on budget laptops. The backlighting of the keyboard makes it possible to work in any light conditions, and the 1920 x 1080 FHD display with a convenient viewing angle will not strain your eyes. In fact, this laptop will really feel like a premium experience, something that is almost never the case with budget systems.
The hardware that this model is packing under the hood is pretty decent for its price range. The system uses a dual-core AMD Ryzen 3 3200U processor running at up to 3.5 GHz, along with 4 GB of RAM and a 128GB PCIe NVMe SSD. For lighter use, this hardware will prove to be more than capable of handling whatever you need, and in fact, it will probably surprise you with its overall responsiveness. Plenty of connectivity options are also included, which altogether helps make this laptop worth much more than its meager asking price. Those who are in the market for a powerful budget laptop will find few models that can match this one.

Perfect For Students
In recent surveys, one of the biggest reasons for the purchase of a laptop PC is for use by students. This means that a number of factors are in play when it comes to choosing the right laptop for this purpose, including a reasonable cost, the weight of the device, and the ergonomics of using it. If you find yourself looking for the perfect laptop for students that meets all of these criteria, then you should take a good look at the ASUS F512JA-AS34 VivoBook 15 Thin and Light Laptop. Although its specs aren't going to light the world on fire, it provides an excellent balance of all of the different things that make a laptop great for use by students.
Taking a look at the exterior aspects of this system first, the computer has a thin and light form factor that makes it quite portable without adding excess weight to a student's already heavy backpack. The ergonomic backlit keyboard with a fingerprint sensor activated via Windows Hello will also make starting up your laptop very convenient, letting you quickly get it up and running in order to focus on whatever work you need to do. In addition, full compatibility with Google Classroom makes the laptop a good choice for studying, especially for those whose school environments require use of Google's various educational tools.
Excellent Screen
On lower-priced laptops that are geared towards students, one of the compromises that are often made in order to get the price down is to use a lower quality screen. Surprisingly, ASUS has managed to include an excellent screen on this particular model. It features a Full HD (1920x1080) NanoEdge display with 4-sided bezels and a stunning screen-to-body ratio that makes the screen appear to float more than being confined within hard borders, while also providing plenty of screen real estate to get your work done quickly and efficiently.
Under the hood, the fast 10th generation Intel Core i3-1005G1 processor provides enough horsepower to run most applications and games smoothly. Meanwhile, the system includes only 8GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD, both of which are on the small side for a modern system. Having said that, they should still be sufficient for those who are focusing on school work instead of data-heavy tasks that require tons of RAM and storage space for working with large files.
By far, the biggest gripe we have here is that the system uses WIndows 10 Home S Mode by default, which really hampers the usability of the device. However, disabling S Mode to unlock the full potential of Windows 10 is easy to do, so we won't let that ruin what would be an otherwise very positive outlook of an inexpensive yet powerful laptop that is perfectly geared towards students.

With Chrome OS, you also get instant access to all of the Google online tools that help you get your basic computer tasks done, as well as even a few more heavy-duty tasks.
It should be mentioned, of course, that this laptop isn't a powerhouse when it comes to its hardware, but it also doesn't need to be. Having said that, it is certainly no slouch thanks to the quad-core 2.1 GHz Mediatek MT8127 processor. The system comes equipped with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, both of which are much lower than you'll find on many other systems, but most people really won't require more thanks to the cloud storage provided by Google. In case you do need more storage, though, you can easily insert a high-capacity SD card for more storage space. All in all, this very inexpensive 2-in-1 convertible laptop from Lenovo will really hit the sweet spot when it comes to providing many users with exactly what they need for a portable work and entertainment device.

What Is a Laptop With SSD?
Just 20 years ago, laptops were quite a luxury for most people who required or wanted a home or office computer. Most computers sold were large, bulky desktop systems that were anything but portable. Nowadays, the situation has reversed, with laptops actually selling much better than desktop systems. Although the portability of a laptop is nice, they tend to have some drawbacks, namely in that they are often not as powerful as their desktop counterparts, but more importantly that they tend to run slower.
A good solution to this issue, of course, is to get a laptop with an SSD. SSDs (Solid State Drives) have a large number of benefits in comparison to mechanical hard drives, mainly in that they are much faster to access. Opening large files or even running a lot of programs at once on your laptop can benefit greatly from having an SSD in your system, as the constant accessing of the internal storage will often slow your computer to a crawl with a mechanical hard drive. Thankfully, many laptops now come with SSDs installed, which means that the best laptops with SSD are much easier to find now than they were before.
If you need a laptop bag to carry your new laptop with SSD around in, then take a look at our reviews of five of the best laptop bags available.
What Features to Compare
Finding a laptop that comes with an SSD already installed isn't very difficult now, thanks to the proliferation of SSDs. However, finding the right laptop for your needs is still just as difficult as ever, as laptops vary widely in such things as their specifications and characteristics. For power users, a laptop with an SSD but bare minimum specs just won't cut it, so you'll have to search for one that has all of the characteristics that you need. Below are some of the most common characteristics to look for in the best laptops with SSDs.
Processor
One of the most important characteristics of any computer, whether it be a desktop or laptop, is the processor. The main processor is the central brain of the computer, and is usually the fastest part of it that dictates how quickly your programs will run. As a general rule, the faster the processor speed (measured in Gigaherts, or Ghz), the faster the computer is. However, this isn't always the case, as older processors may run with the same processor speed as a newer one, but will often be slower in real world use. It is usually best to get not only the fastest clock speed available, but also the newest model of processor.
RAM
The next most important characteristic is the amount of RAM that comes in your laptop, as this will dictate how much data you will be able to work with simultaneously before your computer needs to start swapping data to the internal storage. Most of the models reviewed here come with at least 8 GB of RAM installed, but as usual, the more, the better.
Storage Space
The amount of total storage space available in the computer is definitely important, especially for power users who work with a lot of programs and large data files such as videos. One of the drawbacks of an SSD is that they generally offer much less storage space than a mechanical hard drive of the same size. However, many laptops made for power users include both SSDs and mechanical hard drives to ensure that enough storage space is offered. If you are a power user who works with a lot of programs and large data files, you will want to make sure that the laptop with SSD that you purchase will have enough storage space for your particular needs.
Other Features
In addition to the characteristics mentioned above, there are plenty of other features that you will want to look for in your new laptop, including the dimensions, screen size, weight, battery life, and more. Make sure that you check all of the specifications and characterstics that are important to you in any new laptop that you buy in order to ensure that you are getting the best laptop with SSD for your needs.
Did you know?
SSDs: The New Storage Medium
SSDs aren't really new, as they have been around for a number of years now. However, they have become more and more prevalent, to the point now where more laptops are coming with SSDs than with mechanical hard drives. Even many desktop computers are now shipping with SSDs installed, and soon it may actually be rare to see a system that includes a mechanical hard drive. This leaves the question, though: What benefits do SSDs really bring to computers, and what drawbacks do they have in comparison to mechanical hard drives? For those who don't really know much about SSDs, prepare to be educated!
How SSDs Work
An SSD (Solid State Drive) is mass storage meant to replace the older mechanical hard drives. SSDs work by utilizing what is known as flash storage to hold and maintain data, whereas older hard drives use metal platter to magnetically store data. The flash storage in an SSD is essentially NAND flash non-volatile memory, which works in a manner somewhat similar to the RAM used by a computer, but is able to retain stored data even with no electrical current. Since it is drastically different than how a hard drive works, the only thing that SSDs have in common with hard drives are that they are a method of mass storage.
Benefits of SSDs
The number of benefits provided by solid state drives are numerous. As they do not contain any moving parts. they tend to be much more reliable than a hard drive, including being resistant to shock. SSDs also have much quicker access times than a standard hard drive, as there is no need for moving parts to physically find a location where data is stored. SSD speeds tend to be limited more to the drive controller than to its internal operation, whereas hard drives speeds are limited by the speed of the physically moving parts. Along with these advantages, SSDs also tend to be much less power-hungry, which is a huge benefit for portable systems such as laptops, where battery life is a huge concern. They are also usually physically lighter as well, which helps reduce the total weight of a laptop.
Drawbacks of SSDs
Despite the numerous advantages that SSDs have over hard drives, there are a number of drawbacks as well. The biggest drawback tends to be that they are much more expensive in comparison to a hard drive of the same storage capacity, which explains why SSD storage sizes tend to be much smaller than an equivalently priced hard drive. This, in turn, often results in users opting to have a mechanical hard drive installed alongside an SSD, just so they have enough internal storage to meet their needs. Another large drawback is that SSDs do run the risk of losing data retention over a period of time, which is due to the nature of how they operate. This makes them less than ideal for long term storage, as an SSD that sits unused for a long period of time (such as for more than a year) has a high risk of losing the data that is stored on it.
SSDs Are The Future
Although SSDs do have some disadvantages compared to mechanical hard drives, the number of advantages they bring means that they are the future of mass storage. Furthermore, SSD technology has advanced at a rapid pace, and many of the disadvantages they currently have are likely to disappear. With this being the case, mechanical hard drives may be relegated to being relics from the past.
