What customers say about "Drag"
Shimano Twin Power SW (TP8000SWBPG) Saltwater fishing reel
- Landed a few 20 lb stripers at the Cape Cod Canal. Super smooth retrieve. Awesome drag. Still waiting for the ultimate test of a 40+ lb fish.
- Very few reels have the ability to put 50 pounds of drag pressure on a fish. This reel is half the price of a Stella but still does a great job.
- A well-built reel boasting a whopping 62 pounds of drag, there is no reason why you could not land a large triple digit tarpon or a decent size reef shark.
- The Twin Power is extremely smooth as well as having a very smooth drag system to allow you to dial in the correct drag easily.
- This reel does look like a monster though with 62 lbs of drag.....are you kidding me. You could probably tow a small car with that.
Shimano Stella SW (STL8000SWBHG) Saltwater Spinning Reels
- This reel is like butter! It is light enough to cast all day yet strong enough to land 200+ pound tarpon.
- I spooled it wit 50# Power Pro Super Slick. The drag is extremely smooth and allows for really putting the heat on fish.
- Not only that it has a lot of drag, but the drag is really smooth.
- The stella series are a masterpiece the drag is supoer smooth and has never failed me on any size of reel.
