Pioneer AVIC-8200NEX Navigation Receiver with Carplay
- Plenty powerful for stock and sensitive aftermarket speakers. Time dimmer function is nice. Navigation is OK
- Responsive screen. Has Carplay. 4 channel dsp does a good job with time alignment on stock systems.
- Really made a difference in the sound quality using the stock Infinity speaker system ( Bought the pioneer sub) versus the stock deck. I am super happy with my choice and the price!
- Unit has very high quality picture and decent sound. Scrolling and pressing is very smooth- almost iPhone like.
Pioneer AVIC-8100NEX Capacitive Touchscreen Display Double DIN
- Professionally installed and every detail explained. No regrets, would buy again
- I like that I can watch stuff thru an HDMI cable with my phone on this stereo
- great upgrade to my truck... wanted NAV. & BACK up CAMERA this unit provided the function and capability to to it.
- The sound is fantastic. The size of the display is perfect. After it was installed it looked like it came from the fabric.
- I've had this unit installed for about a week now in my 2009 Avalanche LTZ, which had the factory Bose system. With recommended installation accessories, everything works as intended (rear entertainment, steering wheel controls, Bose amp, backup camera, door chimes, etc).

What customers say about "Display"
Pioneer AVIC-8200NEX Navigation Receiver with Carplay
- The screen is decent, but I don't think it's really that much more responsive or clearer than a resistive panel.
- I love this stereo. Took a minute for my install but thats a Jeep Wrangler for you. The features are outstanding, the screen has a sharp clear picture and the touch is awesome.
- The screen auto-dimming feature works in the background to keep the brightness "just right'. The dimming-effect is so gradual that you really don't notice it happening.
- Screen isn't very crisp--has noticeable bloom/halo around bright spots.
- The screen is shiny and shows every fingerprint. The screen also has a wicked glare if it catches the sun just right. Fortunately there is a tilt-feature so you can usually adjust the screen to keep the sun offset from your viewing angle.
Pioneer AVIC-8100NEX Capacitive Touchscreen Display Double DIN
- The screen is very clear. I watch live tv on the screen through my Slingbox app. It takes some getting used to, even for a Pioneer user, but so far so good.
- I love the 7" screen and the map details are great. It came with FREE installation, which saved me, overall, a few hundred dollars.
- The screen is very clear. The only negative would be the fingerprints, but being a touchless screen, you can expect fingerprints, so no big deal. OVERALL great device.
- Getting used to the capacitive screen vs. the previous. Love the screen formats and graphics too.
- The graphics are marginal and are virtually invisible on the screen in normal daylight. I hope Pioneer will overcome these definite shortcomings.

What customers say about "Audio"
Pioneer AVIC-8200NEX Navigation Receiver with Carplay
- The sound is definitely clearer, but it did take some adjustments with the built in EQ to get it how I liked it... but that was after 7 years of getting used to the JBL out-of-the-box sound. I'd buy it again for sure. The AndroidAuto interface is awesome.
- Professionally installled and I really like the sound and all the features.
- I bought this for the CarPlay, capacitive touch and sound quality. It does not disappoint on any of these. I really like the sound of this deck
- The 13 band graphic EQ can help a lot of people using stock speakers or slight upgrades.
- I'm not impressed at all with the sound quality either. Sounds like a loud stock stereo.
Pioneer AVIC-8100NEX Capacitive Touchscreen Display Double DIN
- Sounds much better than the factory Bose head unit, and really brings the rest of the system to life with significantly more punch than before.
- The 8100 is an excellent system. The unit has great sound; the image clarity from the rear view camera is excellent and allows access to many iPhone functions, when the phone is tethered.
- Huge upgrade from my factory head unit which was advertised to be great but was probably the worst audio system I've ever had in a car. Just by changing the unit the audio improved dramatically
- Overall, this is a great sounding and performing deck. Love it!
- Audio features are excellent and has great tuning capabilities. AutoEQ feature is nice at getting your settings in the ball park.

What customers say about "Tuner"
Pioneer AVIC-8200NEX Navigation Receiver with Carplay
- I love the fact that I could cancel Satellite Radio is going to save me some money in the long run.
- The radio performs excellently in the truck. The sound is definitely clearer.
- Everything and more! Easy setup with bluetooth, SD card, USB, DVD, CD, great local radio station pickup.
Pioneer AVIC-8100NEX Capacitive Touchscreen Display Double DIN
- I get more stations with HD radio, but I think adding a signal booster is a plus to better locks in on stations.
- I have not used the Sirius connectivity on the radio but the HD Radio stations come through very clear. With this unit pushing more watts per channel I definetly notice a deeper/richer sound from my stock speakers.
- The only thing you can’t do is search for new stations from the radio but that’s a good thing because you shouldn’t be doing that when you’re driving anyway. You’ll have access to stations you have already created from your phone.
- The unit is ok however when using it with siriusXM setting the text showing what is playing is black on 3/4 of the stations and is un-redable
- The radio sounds good the HD Radio doesnt get/show some of the information or graphics the radio stations put out.

What customers say about "Features"
Pioneer AVIC-8200NEX Navigation Receiver with Carplay
- I love my pioneer! This works great and comes with all the cords for USB and aux and GPS antenna and mic and power cord. It is super fast when on the navigation and to call someone. I absolutely love it.
- The navigation feature is much better than the factory navigation. We live near a city that has many divided highways with multiple exits and then right after that there are more exits.
- APPLE CARPLAY: This feature is one of my favorite things about the AVIC-8200 NEX. It connects seamlessly and only has a few issues if the internet is spotty. I love that I can listen to Pandora, iTunes and Audible, but I wish I could also listen to other apps like Amazon Music.
- Documentation is garbage, which is unfortunately par for the course. I haven't figured out yet where having a capacitive touch screen will be of benefit to carplay users. Navigation is only OK for being a flagship deck.
- I wish it was a bit faster, not sure if this a Pioneer or an Apple problem. I using the latest iPhone SE (currently the fastest iPhone as of august 2016).
Pioneer AVIC-8100NEX Capacitive Touchscreen Display Double DIN
- The Apple play is nice, it allows you to work some features of your phone right through the unit screen.
- I also added an XM receiver and a backup camera, to complete the system. We road tested it in Tahoe and it worked perfectly.
- It does everything and more than a driver would need. The bottom of the screen acts like a tab bar so that it will notify you of your speed/traffic/directions while in other apps like music and apple car play.
- I am still exploring all the functions of this receiver, but what I have found and tried out so far has been great. It was easy to sync up my phone and set up playlists. Can't wait to see what I'm missing!
- the GPS directions and map are by HERE, a source I've never heard of and who, apparently, is not familiar with common traffic terminology.
