  • The other tools are generally useful, and I prefer the screwdriver over a corkscrew. (I favor work over wine, and I find that corkscrews tend to get tangled in things and become a hassle.)
  • This knife will serve you well. It has exactly what I was looking for: a locking, non-serrated blade and saw.
  • The Ranger grip is a larger version of the Trekker line of knives, all are great tools if you call you knives tools.
  • I own a delmont 55 with walnut scales, it’s beautiful, but I am afraid to take it out of the house as to not scratch it. The rangergrip 78 answered the problem.
  • Nice Swiss army knife. I was hesitant that I might not need the extra saw in it, but the very first day that I got it, I had to use to widen a hole in a wooden kitchen knife holder and it was awesome!
  • Blade and saw are sharp but lose. Like they would easily snap.

  • The saw is quite substantial. All-in-all, a great knife.
  • The big knife and the saw are awesome.
  • The corkscrew on my knife is mounted too much inward resulting in a non-flat surface. Not all layers are the same length. That would have looked better.
  • The saw is a few mm's too long in my opinion and therefore sticks out too much.
  • The scales do not feel as solid as the scales from a Forester.

  • The construction and overall product quality is high, as expected of the brand.
  • Be warned, though: the knife may be slightly larger than you think. It happens to fit my large hands nicely, though, so I'm not complaining.

  • The quality is better than expectations.
  • All the blades open easily, but there is no looseness or any cheapening affects that ive noticed.

  • Recently I bought the Rangergrip 55, similar to the Ranger Grip 79, except the one hand opening knife.
  • I love the locking mechanism which works great. The finish of this former Wenger knife is not as good as I'm used to from my Victorinox Forrester and Pioneer Alox knives.
  • Victorinox gives a lifetime warranty for steel of the knifes (I think, that Victorinox knife with defect will replace to new knife, or I'm wrong).
  • I've been using Swiss Army Knives since I was 4 or 5 and I've always loved them, discovering and using this one when adult it's like an amazing flash back, same feelings, awesome grip, sturdy and Victorinox!
  • But all victorinox knives comes oiled, so it captures dust, if you don't carry it in case.
