What customers say about "Key Specs"
SportDog FieldTrainer 425 Waterproof Shock Collar
  • The tone and vibrate function are excellent for training a young dog especially when distractions interrupt the exercise
  • The stimulus features are well calibrated to address each dog's temperment.
  • This is a highly versatile tool with all of the key features needed to hold your dog's attention during training sessions.
  • She responds very well to the beep and we never have to give her any type of shock. This product has great range and is very dependable.
  • Range of reciever and different tone and vibrate settings are good; however, I recomend one that uses standard batteries.
SportDog SportHunter 825 Dog Training Collars
  • Excellent transmit/receive range. (Over 1/2 mile in open country.) Wide stimulation range(s).
  • Кange is amazing further than a mile. Compared to other units I've owned this is by far the best one.
  • The collar has three overall ranges of stimulation: low, medium, and stubborn dog. I use the stubborn range on my super intelligent and overactive german shorthaired pointer.
  • It has 16 levels of stim within each range: 8 levels on the dialer X low and high buttons. Within the stubborn range, I determined, that low 4 is perceived by my dog. I range from low 4 to high 5 depending on the levels of dog's excitement.
  • I've used sport dog before and it has been very sucessful in the field. For some reason, this set does not deliver the same quality. The tone volume is so low that even a dog can't hear it.
  • Bought this to run two rabbit dogs. It works well with two dogs however you lose the option of tone and vibrate with more then one collar . If i would have known this was the case i would have went for the next level.

What customers say about "Features"
SportDog FieldTrainer 425 Waterproof Shock Collar
  • Build quality of the unit is great; it is submersion-proof; and, charges very quickly.
  • It's compact and very easy to use, reasonable and very effective it takes very little for my dog to respond I'm really glad I purchased it.
  • Nice compact size and easy to learn how to use. Included DVD helped to get started quickly. Like rechargeable feature over having to mess with all the batteries.
  • Has good range and the battery life exceeded my expectations.
  • Very durable and made well. Small, lightweight, and charges quickly.
SportDog SportHunter 825 Dog Training Collars
  • Simple user interface. Three buttons and a knob mean there's no need to look at the transmitter when using it. You can keep your eyes on your dogs.
  • Light weight--particularly the collar unit. My dogs have a much thinner summer coat, and a heavy collar unit can chafe.
  • Excellent battery life (I've used it for 3 days straight without charging the reviever).
  • You can add a beeper later that can be controlled from the same remote.
  • The transmitter's overall length is too long to fit in a front (pants) pocket. I like to conceal the transmitter, so the dog doesn't know whether I have it or not.
  • The recessed buttons and symmetrical shape provide less tactile feedback. This makes it very difficult to operate the transmitter through the fabric of a pocket.
  • This trainer worked like a charm initially. We've had it for approx. 7 months and the "warning beep" feature has stopped working.
