- Superior quality tool, variable speed and has attachment options for days.
- This unit has good bearings, great speed control, adequate hoursepower, and a LOT of diverse functions!
- Works very well; I like the variable speed adjustment on this unit. Has certainly met any expectation I had for it. Many, many uses!
- Variable speed of 5,000 - 35,000 RPM with electronic feedback (TRUE - but not all attachments can be used at 35,000; in real world use, mostly- you will be using 15-25,000RPM)
- The heat generated from the high speed rotation caused the thread to heat up begin to deform.
- Separate power and variable speed switch. Variable from 5-30k.
- EZ twist collet lock (no need to carry around wrench).
- It has low level variable speeds which are very nice for especially slow and deliberate work.
- I like this unit for the power/speed, which is fully adjustable via a slider switch.
- I use this at work to grind dog's nails. I am able to set the speed where I need it and then turn the tool on/off at the separate switch. This is a huge time saver!
- Great grip, lite weight, and long enough cord to work around your project.
- The tool works great and, having purchased cheap accessories that aren't worth their weight in sawdust, the accessories that come with the tool are very good quality.
- Out of the box, its sleek has a good weight to it and feels like your an old friend with new upgrades.
- The Dremel fits comfortable in the hand and is light weight enough to prevent hand tiredness.
- This is a corded rotary tool approximately the same size as the 4000 and similar in looks, weight and how it feels in your hands.
- Portable, enough power, light weight for hobbies and small fix it jobs.
- Nice product, moderate weight in your hand.
- Nice compact tool kit! Easy to handle and work with it.
- This particular Dremel 4200 Platinum Collection is quite good. It is powerful, useful and versatile. It comes with a slew of attachments and various tips, cutters, etcetera.
- Includes 6 attachments and 40 accessories for maximum versatility (NOT TRUE - this is very misleading - when they say 40, they are actually counting each individual item, like 4 sanding wheels, 6 cutting wheels, 2 brushes, 4 buffers, etc.)
- Easy to attach bits. The bad thing is that it will only take 1/8" bits.
- The different attachments and extra pieces allowed me shape and start polishing my stones!
- Some accessories make no sense, the case is awesome, good value, but they could give you better accesories
- Takes all of the dremel attachments unlike some of the smaller models.
- Handy case that stores the 8220 and many more accessories.
- Quick release collar is new and great feature, no more wrench to chase down.
- One of the best feature is that it fits all my Dremel accessories.
- The only bad point is the carrying case: I wish the case were a bit more flexible in allowing more accessories to be stored with it.
- I loved the size of the old one. But the motor finally went. The new one has started to see some use and i couldnt be happier with the purchase
- Certain accessories can be tricky to use with this but overall I am very pleased with it's power and versatility.
- Cooler running with 20-percent more air flow in venting design (YES- TRUE, but i dont like it, when i set the unit to max power, its like a blower and the air is vented underneath)
- This is a very strong Dremel. Its not cordless but to get the power in such a small unit it needs to be AC.
- The power chord is very thick which is good and it has a long strain relief at the end of the tool so there shouldn't be any problems with the power wire.
- Plenty of torque and speed for grinding large dog nails. Don't waste your money on the cheaper lover voltage ones that bog down under the slightest load.
- 12 volt separate battery and charger incase you want to have additional batteries. It is a quick charging battery taking about 1 hour.
- Best feature is the removable battery. I can always have one on charge while I'm using it.
- The battery holds a charge for a long time, and is fast charging.
- I wonder if I got a dud for a battery. I can only do about 20 minutes on a medium speed before the battery dies. I am not impressed.
