My truck ran out of juice in the middle of nowhere and luckily I had this device which jumpstarted my vehicle right away. I did not have to wait for roadside assistance and was able to get back on the road I a jiffy.
I decided to give the whole "portable jump starter" concept one more shot and spent roughly double for this Schumacher charger. And I'm glad I did. This charger is a beast. It has worked flawlessly on multiple occasions for my personal and work vehicles.
This charger is designed in the USA, but made in China. Like most things these days. So as awesome as it is, I have no idea how long the good times will last with this unit. So far, so good. Hopefully Schumacher will be encouraged to start making them here now.
I bought this as a portable power station to charge my power hungry MacBook Pro while out and about in the woods. I needed something that would keep me powered outdoors while editing and uploading videos. This thing is a beast.
This is the best tire inflator I have ever owned. Just works and the screw on nozzle stem is the most reliable ever.

But just remember, the AC converter is rated at 200 watts average/ 400 watts peak, that's not a lot, but for what's it's designed for, it's great and in an emergency, it could even be a life saver.
First off, It is really big, bigger than expected but it is supposed to be a 1200 amp unit.
The SJ1 has The Schumacher SJ1 1200-amp jump starter is designed to automatically shut off when the chosen PSI is reached, allowing you to set it and forget it.
The manual AFTER I bought it stated 400 watts, the company stated 1200 Amps. Amps times volts equals watts.
The heart of this unit is a 22 amp hour battery with 1200 cold cranking amps.
Description does not list "watts", Schumacher site says "peak of 400 but 200 continuous", a small crock pot takes 275 and will not run on this.

Schumacher SJ1 Digital Portable Power Station

This was after I hooked it up to my running Toyota Corolla and it would barely click the starter after 20 minutes of charging while reving it every few minutes! Overall, I DO love this power source. It also has Apple & Android USB charging ports.
One full charge yielded 5 charging sessions of my laptop, phone and camera AND filled up a low tire while out in the middle of nowhere. I have not used it to charge my vehicle, but I love it that I have the capability to do so.
The USB ports will charge two smartphones at one time.
Minor omission, although 2 USB ports are optimized for android and 2 for iOS, the ports are not labeled as such on the unit.
It is stuck at 110 PSI and will not change to the needed pressure.

This is a good unit for the money. With USB ports, 12-volt DC and 120 volt AC outlets, this is much more than a jump starter.
I have "saved the day" many times out on a job site when someone needs USB power or to plug in a charger for something. My only improvement would be a brighter light option.
It also has a work light and a USB outlet for running any electronic accessories .Great for recharging cell phones.
I do wish it had a few more USB outlets and some bright flashing red lights for side of the road safety.
Am however a little dissapointed that the usb plug in doesn't work.

One of it's nicest features is it's tire inflation function. You hook up the rubber "screw on" valve stem connector, set your desired PSI, and hit button with the TIRE symbol.
This thing allows me to have an independent power supply no matter where I am at and in the event of a power outage, as well. Cool!
Well made, and with several user friendly features. Amazingly light weight compared to the one it replaced.
All i did was adjust the cord and straightened it out instead of leaving a kink in the line and it aired up my tires on my car just fine...it did stay stagnant at one point and thought the device was faulty.
Easy to use, has useful features, holds charge for reasonably period, charges fast.

The amount of features this thing has is insane. I've used the air compressor for tires, air mattresses, and inflatable toys.
Has good features and seems well built, would recommend.
Perfect for jumping, and using tire inflator. Be aware, inflator will only run 10 minutes before needing to cool down, but will work. Haven't tried any other features, but didn't really need them.
I have used the inverter feature numerous times with no problems. I had a 60 watt light plugged in and constantly on for 5 hours and still had about 50% battery power left. I have also used the inverter for an electric fillet knife with no problems.
Seems to be a pretty good product, it worked well the time I used it. The unit is a bit bigger and heavier than I'd pictured it, but it has some great features.
