The air hose is 4 feet long and flexible so you'll have no issues hooking up the jack to an air pump.
The tool is quite heavy and tough to move around.
If you've got a bigger than average vehicle, this jack with its 40,000 lbs max load will be an indispensable tool for your garage. It has an automatic pump lift to make work easier and the body of the jack is very sturdy, ensuring its long service life. A great choice for owners of big rigs.

Torin TA92006
Bears the Load
Working on high-weight trucks is not always safe and if you want to make sure your maintenance tasks are going smoothly, you’re going to need the best bottle jack in terms of max load and safety features. With that in mind, turn to the Torin TA92006.
This compact jack might not look like much but it has an insanely high 40,000 lbs max load, enough to work on almost any vehicle comfortably. As for lifting that weight, it can be done either manually or via the pneumatic pump, especially since the air hose is 4 feet long and you should have no issues getting it to the pump.
While the lift height isn’t anything too special, it’s more than enough for comfortable maintenance on any type of car. What’s more important, though, is the safety valve, which prevents any malfunctions during pneumatic use. Couple this with the alloy-plated ram and you can rest assured that the Torin TA92006 will hold up the safety on its side. Of course, that alloy plating has its price as the jack weighs about 32 lbs, which makes moving it around kind of a chore. Luckily, a jack isn’t exactly something you carry on your errands so it’s not that big of a deal.
All things considered, we’d be lying if we said that the Torin TA92006 isn’t one of the best bottle jack models out there, both in specs and in convenience. It’s a simple tool that’s going to help with car maintenance, whether you’ve got a 5-ton vehicle or a 20-ton one.

Pro-Lift B-012D
Lift It High
Looking for a hydraulic jack that has a wide lifting range and won’t give out in the middle of a lengthy maintenance session? If you said yes, the Pro-Lift B-012D is an excellent choice!
This jack has a reinforced ram with special fortification in spots where most of the weight is supported. That way the whole system is protected and you also have a bypass system to boot, which keeps the ram from over-travel.
Couple that with the 24,000 lbs max load and the lifting range of 9.5 to 18.9 inches and you already have a pretty good model. However, we do have to admit that there are a few shortcomings. For example, this jack doesn’t have a pneumatic pump so you’ll have to raise it up by hand, which might get pretty tiring. Still, the handle is pretty convenient and makes things a bit easier although it would be nice to have it be a bit longer. Right now it can be a bit hard to reach from time to time, mostly when you’re dealing with a particularly large vehicle. Also, this model is pretty lightweight for a tool this powerful at just a bit over 17 lbs.
So if you want a reliable and durable jack that’s going to be comfortable in use, the Pro-Lift B-012D is a pretty well-rounded choice. It could use a few improvements but it’s great as is.

Alltrade 640912
Stable Quality for All
A good hydraulic jack should offer stability so that you can do your work in a safe and comfortable environment. With that in mind, we recommend the Alltrade 640912, fitted with an extra-large foundation. This guarantees more even weight distribution and steady positioning so you can rest assured that the work will be safe and hassle-free.
The Alltrade 640912 is, of course, non-skid so it won’t slide around the garage even if you put the 6000-lb max load onto it. That’s not as much as some of the more expensive models support but it’s a good level for the price. Besides, you get an excellent lift range between 11.5 and 21.5 inches, allowing for comfortable work on the vehicle.
However, there is a small shortcoming in the Alltrade 640912, namely in its design. You see, this model is manual control only and the release valve isn’t exactly in a good spot. If you’ve got your hands full with tools and parts, it may be tough to operate the jack.
But minor flaws aren’t enough to bring down an excellent product and that’s exactly what the Alltrade 640912 is. Boasting excellent stability, pretty good max load, and a convenient lifting range, this is a tool that will find everyday use in any car lover’s garage.

Pro-Lift B-004D
Helper on the Road
Getting car problems on the road can be a real pain if you’re not ready for them. However, it’d be insane of us to recommend you carry around a 30-pound jack “just in case”. Luckily, you can choose the Pro-Lift B-004D instead, which is easy to keep in your trunk and use for any emergencies.
This lightweight 7-pound jack is designed for passenger vehicles and thus supports 8,000 lbs, maybe not exactly the highest load but still enough for a regular car. Besides, the areas that will likely bear most of the load are heat-treated and thus reinforced to withstand more weight. With that, you know for sure that there will be no unfortunate accidents during maintenance.
Plus, the ram itself glides smoothly out of the jack even though its movement is controlled manually. The top has a steel lifting saddle that cradles the vehicle and prevents it from sliding off or pushing the jack out.
Last but not least, we were pretty impressed by the 8 to 15.4 inches lifting range. It’s not the highest on the market but it’s surprisingly high for a portable jack. With that in mind, we wholeheartedly recommend the Pro-Lift B-004D if you’re concerned about car damage on the road. It’s a reasonably priced and reliable tool that might save you from a big headache and a ruined trip.

Torin T90603B
Working on a Budget
If reliability and ease of use are the key features you want from your car maintenance tools, the Torin T90603B is an astute choice. This model has a welded and heat-treated body with a 2-layer reinforcement in the pump. All that prevents both physical damage and leaks of hydraulic oil, ensuring the tool’s durability and extending service life.
Besides, the extra thick body can withstand higher temperatures so you can use the Torin T90603B in the range of 40°F to 105°F. This is particularly useful if you plan on welding parts of your vehicle or working in a high-temp environment.
With that kind of quality and a 12-ton max load, it’s kind of strange that the Torin T90603B is so affordable. But that may be due to the poor quality of its paint job. The paint peels off pretty fast which leads to reduced anticorrosion properties. Still, that’s nothing you can’t fix with a brush and a cheap bucket of paint from the nearest store, not exactly a dealbreaker.
While we often find the automatic models to be more efficient in use, the budget-friendly Torin T90603B is a great find and a reliable tool for any garage. It’s well-designed, durable, and has pretty high specs for a model at this price. An excellent pick for a thrifty shopper!

What Is a Bottle Jack?
Sometimes vehicle maintenance requires tools that can lift a 20-ton car with ease, something that even the strongest man can’t do. For cases like that you need a bottle jack, a pneumatic instrument that helps raise heavy objects. Most of these devices are quite similar, varying largely in terms of max load, lifting range, and some extra features. The latter may include protective functions, reinforced parts, and new control options.
If we were to speak of a standard jack model, the concept is quite simple. The bottle-shaped tool has a hydraulic ram that goes upwards, lifting whatever object is on top of it. Most models are controlled via a pump though some have to be geared up by hand. Although we’re mostly focusing on them as a safe car maintenance tool, professional builders sometimes use it to lift houses and other structures. So even if you don’t plan on having a lifted truck in your backyard any time soon, consider buying one of these for any future renovations you might have.
