- Surprisingly high read/write for magnetic storage.
- Enormous size means I can back up my entire machine after compression.
- The drive itself is very user friendly, and relatively easy to you. Plug in the cable, switch on the power and you can start transferring files.
- I bought it to take over for my 1.5 TB external drive which was headed for melt down and the 5TB uploaded everything at very fast rate.
- Plugged it in this morning and heard a loud screeching noise that would stop and start again. So, I unplugged it and waiting a while. Plugged it back in 30 minutes later, same noise.
- The Toshiba Canvio Basics 1TB Portable Hard Drive is an excellent drive for what I needed it for, which was to add extra storage to my Xbox One.
- This 2tb Toshiba worked perfectly just plug it in and its a simple set it up in your system storage settings and your ready to go. I currently have 20 games on mine and have only 33.4% used with 1.4 tb left
- This Drive is good for a variety of uses. You can store you videos, pictures, and more on here. It's plug and play so you simply plug in and it shows up, much like a thumb drive. A LOT of storage, so you won't need to worry about running out of space.
- This system is a perfect add-on external storage that acts as a proxy device for intermediate storage of information as the month goes bay - then exported to the massive devices' storage folders on five 5 terabyte devices. Has worked perfectly for a month now.
- The support network that Toshiba offers is an unknown as compared to Seagate & WD in a lot of regions
- Unit is a little more compact than I thought. From the pics I thought I'd be about the size or bigger than my old MyBook but it is actually 1/4 less diameter all around.
- Exterior looks amazing even thought it's a plastic enclosure. And it is convenient and compact.
- Once I received the device I was shocked to see how small the device actually is. It's only a little bit longer than my Galaxy Note 3, and very light.
- The unit sits on my desk backing up my computer. The footprint is pretty small on the desk.
- So far so good. Very large capacity, quiet, relatively small and light weight.
- This little gem is USB powered. Its also weighs very little too!
- It came in a plain bubble package although it was a bit too big for the size of box this came in but it was in perfect condition.
- The photo of the device can be bit misleading it's about the size of a 4 fingerd kit-kat bar!
- This drive works well and is quiet. Is lightweight and a good size although there are lighter and more pocket sized drives for carrying around with a laptop and the like.
- I have recently bought a new laptop that doesn't have a large storage size so I decided to find an external hard drive.
- Compatible with 2.0 and such. I already imaged my drive off an older laptop I was retiring and transferred it into a new workstation and my personal laptop no problems!
- Used it for our XBOX ONE storage for games. It is compatible to a PS4 as well.
- Absolutely great. Very easily compatible. Seems to provide unlimited storage with hundred of movies loaded onto it.
- Needs a power adapter wall-wart (included), versus a 2.5" that can run off USB only.
- After 5 months of use the device stopped working, I believed the power brick was malfunctioning but the hardware usb interface was dead.
- USB 3.0 (faster load times than my internal Xbox One drive by a little bit)
- Quiet, quieter than my computer fan! I can hear it when it starts to spins up, but then it quiets right down.
- Cool and quiet. This thing is basically silent so it won't annoy you regardless of where it is installed.
- Small rubber feet on the bottom of the hard drive case prevent slippage
- Would like to have had a longer cable. However the hard drive does reach the top of my PC case.
