- This purchase was definitely worth every penny. The keyboard bed, and key action perfectly matches an authentic piano, and the sound quality perfectly captures the nuances of a real grand piano. So glad that I purchased this over a Kawai and a Yamaha.
- I spent months reading reviews, listening to demos, reading specs, etc before finally deciding on the Roland FP-30. It had everything I was looking for in an ideal digital piano: full-size, weighted-keys that feel like a real piano, midi controller capabilities, and a truly fantastic piano sound
- The FP30 has met and exceeded all of my expectations so far. It is a powerful instrument, with more capabilities than I will realize for a while. The sound is terrific and the sound bank and internal rhythms are characteristic.
- The weighted keys are as close to a real piano as I've ever felt (keep in mind...I am a saxophonist, not a piano player, but my son who is, actually said, "this feels more like a piano than some pianos I've played!").
- I bought this with hesitation because I wasn't sure if I needed a full keyboard at first but now I'm very happy I did because while it is more expensive than getting a keyboard with fewer keys I won't have to buy another piano later on when I want to expand the music I play.
- I love the weighted keys, it is very similar to playing an actual piano
- The keyboard is just like a grand piano without the bulk. Sounds beautiful and invades minimum space.
- Excellence sound and versatility. Great feel and response.
- I love the tone this has. It is most like having a piano in the house without taking up space. Love using ear buds to play at any time I choose.
- What I love most about this piano is that it is rugged and almost twenty pounds lighter than my RD800. Very solid piano.
- This lightweight FP30 is the best thing that has been made in recent history.
- I like the feel of the keyboard, but I'm disappointed in the durability, or lack thereof.
- It's so light, that it mover around on the stand it sits on.
- It's a great keyboard for practice or even portable enough to take to some local gigs.
- The sound and portability of the keyboard are also huge selling points for me. I would recommend it to anyone of any level!
- It's a great size, and while heavy, fits on a lightweight X-stand well.
- I wanted a digital piano because of its small size, the ability to control volume or play with headphones, and the midi connectivity.
- It's sturdy and feels solid. Mostly plastic. Full size keyboard. Once you have it in a good stand it feels even better.
- I wish there were a few more EP's, but the handful that are there are quite good. The built-in speakers are reasonably powerful and sound quite good and full-range.
- The builtin speakers to make it really easy to take to gigs without having to worry about bringing an amp, though they would sound better facing the player as opposed to facing downward.
- The only thing that I didn't like much is the note holder. A page at a time is fine but it does not hold books that well. But that is not enough to take even half a star. Awesome!!!!!
- I wish it had standard two 1/4" jack outputs and a standard five-pin MIDI IN and MIDI OUT (and thru), but there are cables made by HOSA (and others) that take care of this design decision handily.
- One thing that had wondered about, but is not mentioned in the specs is that it will do MIDI over USB!!!
- Now that my daughters are taking guitar, drums, and piano I am super appreciative of this feature. You can also change it to drum rhythm which is more fun than the metronome sound.
- The recording feature is very limited, but is occasionally useful for getting something down quick.
- Built in speakers are nice as well. Great performance/travel instrument or home instrument.
- The built in speakers aren’t half bad. I am OCD about speakers and amps, but happy that they do just fine. Less space and easier setup this way for bedroom practicing.
- Digital Keyboard Controller App is only available in IOS. To use all of the features on the system, the app is pretty much the only feasible way to adjust the settings. I run android and am out of luck, or have to buy an iPad... aarg.
