- Extremely big book shelve speakers so they won't hang on a wall.
- They're built extremely well and the walnut finish is gorgeous. They're also extremely easy to power.
- Aesthetically, the Bronze speakers are very, very attractive and amongst the best-looking speakers I’ve ever seen.
- While these speakers have front ports, they need room to breathe and greatly benefit from good speaker stands.
- Great highs and very good lows. Very good fit and finish. They are also bi-wire and bi-amp capable.
- I have the Silver Series standing towers and center channel, and they sound amazing. The Silver Series 2 really rounds out for surround sound
- These speakers have small drives, meaning they will reproduce nicely the over 80Hz signal; anything below is artificially produced in the resonance chamber and delivered via the two bass reflex ports.
- The receiver does not have to handle the extra power of low frequencies (70% or so) which transfers to the powered sub 350W amplifier to deal with..!.
- It has plenty of spare energy to drive the mids and highs in a relaxed, high fidelity manner
- The low frequencies sound a little "boomy" for the two speakers without subwoofer; I cannot hear the detailed texture of the low bass guitar string or deep low piano or organ
- I absolutely love these speakers. They're crisp and clear without being harsh, and the bass extension is low without getting muddy.
- I have never heard bookshelf speakers sound this good, regardless of price range
- The upper octave extension is lovely. These speakers sound much better than many other costing as much as 3 times more
- They are hooked up to a Onkyo TX-8160 receiver with two pairs of Canare 4S11 speaker cables each side, on Pangea 24" speaker stands. Source is an Akai BT-500 turntable with AT95E cartridge, connected with Audioquest YIQ-1 component video cables. Great!
- Bass might be a little thin for cinema (you'll want a woofer) - we use for mostly for music without a woofer and are perfectly happy. Nice looking units too!
- Matched up with Monitor Audio Silver center speaker and W12 subwoofer for a great sounding system. I've owned the MA bookshelf speakers for 12 years and have always enjoyed them.
- They sound great playing any genre, but they do seem to really shine with jazz. I would absolutely recommend them.
- No more harsh treble, regardless of the listening source. And the bass coming from these… it was unreal. With the Kenwood, these bookshelves hit like a pair of 10-12 inch woofers, no lie. The overall soundstage was (and is) simply incredible when paired with the vintage Kenwood KA-7300
- I believe Monitor Audio has been successful in recreating the naturalness of that speaker but made it better in all ways. The punch, the bass these speakers create has to be heard to be believed.
- These speakers are the clearest sounding speakers in this price range that I have ever owned. I would strongly suggest these to anyone who listens to a lot of jazz, classical or even indie rock.
- My only caution would be that these Gems take a while to break in before they do they can sound not as good as they should
