Pro Ironing at Home
Time to iron your clothes like a real pro. The Reliable 5000IS ironing station gives you exactly what you need to show off your impeccable wardrobe. It’s adjustable, capacious, and very comfortable in use.
To start with, the 2.5L boiler makes it possible to steam for as long as 4 hours. In case you have a large enough collection of clothes, you’ll easily understand why it’s so great. Now instead of ironing in smaller sessions you can pick a weekend day to do it all in one go.
Not only that, but the heat within the tank will always be spreading evenly. This is made possible via the copper element that serves as an amazing conductor. This machine heats up rather quickly and produces a lot of steam for the job. The Reliable features an adjustable steam output for your added comfort.
The external solenoid valve allows you to pick the right setting at the right time. Start ironing quickly and efficiently, forgetting all about the clumsy non-professional steam stations.
As for the quick release, it’s where you can remove or connect a wide range of accessories to clean your other household items.
Reliable & Safe
The iron that comes with this set has a durable aluminum soleplate. Not only is it very easy to clean, but it also boosts the steam penetration via the holes at the tip. Remove the wrinkles easily and without the usual (tiring) effort. Ideal for those that have an active lifestyle and don’t want to waste hours upon hours on the ironing chores.
The tank, on the other hand, is made of quality stainless steel, which means no rust or water supply contamination. Another big pro for customers that care about their safety and health.
Speaking about the safety; this unit includes a number of systems to ensure your ultimate protection. There’s a pressure switch probe, a safety cup with a valve, and an indicator that shows when the water is low. The pressure gauge will let you know the readings inside the boiler at any given time.
The only problem here is that there are no visual indicators for the water level. While it can be inconvenient, you probably won’t have to refill the tank in less than one day’s time.
Overall, this powerful ironing station will easily top the competitors with its efficiency, adjustability, and safety.

A Professional-grade Model
Hamilton Beach has been providing its customers with professional-level appliances for both domestic and commercial use for over a century. And they definitely know a thing or two about how to make a steam iron suitable for all sorts of use.
To start off our list of features of this elegant-looking gray steam generator, we will begin with its specifications. A 60-oz water tank of this model can produce quite a lot of steam to let you iron a pile of clothes without the need for a refill. Likewise, a powerful 1750-watt motor can generate steam with a density of up 120 g/m, enough to efficiently iron and steam different types of fabric. What's more, you also get 5 steam pressure modes to choose from, which makes it a great match not only for domestic use but also for professional applications. It's also worth noting that an integrated boiler allows adjusting the steam output so that you can easily remove deep creases from any type of fabric. What this also means is that on top of achieving perfectly steamed garments the steam iron allows for optimizing the power and water consumption, which adds to its usability features.
As functional as it is, the Hamilton Beach steam generator iron is very convenient in use. A 5-foot hose enables you to conveniently maneuver it in hands and reach all parts of clothes with ease. So if you have plenty of curtains that need ironing, with the Hamilton Beach steam generator iron you'll be able to do that even without taking them off the rack.
The only negative thing about this steamer is that it's rather bulky due to its water tank, making it less convenient to store. That said, it is a very small shortcoming, especially given that you have such a long cord and convenient hose wraps.
Ideal for Daily Use
The high quality of build, adjustable steaming modes and high-capacity water tank are only a few of the features that make this steam iron a great choice for daily use. In addition to said perks, the model features an Eco mode for energy-wise operation and has an auto-off function that will automatically turn the unit off if you don't use it for more than 10 minutes this way keeping it from overheating. The steaming can be used continuously if you have a whole basket of laundry to do or turned off, as you need. Other than that, we'd like to highlight a wide soleplate, lined with multiple vents to ensure even steam distribution over a larger area of a piece of garment. All this makes it perfectly suitable for ironing clothes like trousers, long dresses as well as bedding.
The Hamilton Beach Professional steam iron is distinguished by low maintenance and long service life. It comes with a durable cleaning brush and includes water softener so that you can keep the soleplate ideally clean. However, according to users, you won't need to clean it too often. Made from high-quality stainless steel, it doesn't tend to get dirty quickly and it's easy to take care of it following a few simple tips.
Wrapping things up, the Hamilton Beach Professional is hands down one of the better steam generator iron models available today, suitable for home and professional use alike.

Say ‘No’ to Wrinkles
Wrinkles are super annoying, but you can get rid of them without breaking a sweat. The Rowenta ironing station is the key to seamless pressing – and your new impeccable look.
What makes this machine so good is the burst of steam that measures at 430 g/min. Even the most stubborn wrinkles will disappear in a record amount of time. Flannel, dress shirt, or pocket flaps, this capable device can handle it all on the top level of quality. Turn your ironing or crafting projects into a pure pleasure with Rowenta.
Now to the 400HD laser soleplate made of stainless steel. Thanks to the smart design, it delivers powerful steam and spreads it evenly for the best possible results. You won’t get tired from going over the same area again and again – and still not smoothing it. The ironing tip is narrow enough for covering smaller areas with more precision. On the downside, the adjustable temperature dial can be changed by accident due to its placement and shape.
This unit comes with a longer power cord, so if your ironing board is a bit small, you can simply put the iron elsewhere. The vertical steaming will become more comfortable, and the cord can be easily stored on the side of the device.
A Versatile Ironing Station
The water tank for this station can hold 37 oz. of water, meaning that you can iron for longer periods of time. Perfect for those that don’t want to stretch out the ironing sessions for an entire week. Also, no need to remove the tank to refill it; just flip up the lid and start pouring the water.
Calcium is bad for the steam ironing systems, but the patented collector will ensure the durability of yours. A very nice touch from the manufacturer – and a lifesaver for your wallet.
Rowenta cares about your safety by equipping the unit with an auto shutoff. If it’s been inactive for over 8 minutes on the heel – or 30 seconds on the soleplate, the iron will be turned off automatically. The same applies to the situation when the iron gets accidentally tipped over on the side.
This machine is not only safe but also highly adjustable. You’re always in control of the steam amount and can change it for the heavier or more delicate fabrics. The only thing that doesn’t change is excellent results with less effort on your part.
Summing up, this versatile and powerful ironing station can take care of all your clothes – and do it on the level.

The ceramic soleplate glides smoothly through the fabric and supports maximum steam penetration thanks to the smart design and plenty of steam holes. No fabric will be too tough for this practical machine, and your satisfaction is guaranteed with little effort.
It’s those smaller areas between the buttons or on collars which often turn the ironing into a nightmare. Thankfully, the Maven has a Pro Detail tip with the right shape and size to cover all the hard-to-reach spots. Go easy on yourself – and the fabric – with this amazing feature.
No more worries while moving the iron around. Simply rotate the on-base lock around the tip, and you can transport it without getting worked up about potential burns. Goes to show that the manufacturer has really thought of everything.
Pick Your Own Mode
With the Maven, you’re always in control of the ironing temps. The 4 settings let you easily transfer between various fabrics or job types. The lowest setting is No Steam, and the highest boosts the heat and steam to the max. This iron heats up super fast, making your daily ironing less of a chore and more of a quick fix-it. The only problem is that the steam button may be hard to reach for some users.
This machine is equipped with a removable 1L tank, which makes refills a rare thing and allows you to iron tons of clothes in one go. And when you do need to add water, it can be done mid-ironing so that the base doesn’t get cooled down in the process. Your daily chores or crafting projects will become so easy that you wouldn’t want to get back to any older models.
If you’ve been inactive for more than 10 minutes, the smart iron will turn off automatically. This will give you a much needed peace of mind in case you accidentally forget to turn it off and leave. To reactivate the unit, all you have to do is move it or press any of the buttons.
As evident, this ironing station will be of great practical value to casual home owners or dedicated craftspeople.

A Fresh Ironing Experience
Steam iron anything and everything with the Rowenta Compact Steam Pro. This ironing station eases your daily chores by making the entire process faster, simpler, and much more efficient.
Let’s start with the fact that this unit delivers high performance due to the 6.5-bar pump pressure and the 350 g/min steam burst. No wrinkle, however strong, will defeat this powerful iron, and you won’t be stuck for hours with a weekend pile of unpressed clothes. Do it all in one go and less time – or spend a dozen minutes every day and cover more items; the choice is always up to you.
A removable water tank with the impressive 57.5 oz. capacity lets you iron for extended periods of time without the dreary refills. Even when you do need to add up some water, your ironing session won’t get interrupted. A nice touch from the manufacturer, as the base of the iron starts cooling down when you take a refill break.
Can this iron be used for intricate crafting projects? Pretty much, yes. It saves you time and effort, doesn’t overstrain your hands with its weight of 350 g, and covers smaller areas as well as hard-to-reach spots.
Lightweight, Easy to Use
Now to the design of this unit, which is well worth mentioning. The Compact Steam Pro is exactly what it says on the tin; a small but effective iron with the frame that roughly matches the standard paper sheet size. Apartment owners will find it an amazing buy, just as anyone looking for an ironing station with a smaller footprint.
As for the soleplate, it’s a MicroSteam 400 anti-scratch one that’s made of stainless steel. The pros of such design include: a) reliability; b) durability; and c) the welcome smoothness. Don’t push your iron forward; let it glide on the fabric freely and without getting stuck. A welcome change from older models, which (as you remember) could be slow and heavy like a battle tank.
The only gripe with the design is that some of the base plastic elements seem cheaply made. If you’re not a purist, however, this will be a minor drawback for you. After all, the plastic makes the iron so much more lightweight.
Summing up, this steam ironing station is compact, user-friendly, and marked with high performance. Get one for your own household – or make it a welcome practical gift.

What Is a Steam Generator Iron?
Cleaning clothes is an everyday task, and while some situations require sending clothes to dry-cleaners, there are many of those that can be handled at home. To simplify domestic chores, you can use a steam generator iron, a home appliance with a water tank that smoothes creases by releasing steam. Steam generator irons look like conventional irons; equipped with water tanks, they pump the liquid into a special chamber where it evaporates turning into steam. The advantage of ironing with steam is that it allows for softening fabric by adding moisture to it and eliminates all unwanted smells. So compared to regular irons that often dry out clothes, damage them, and often leave prints and markings, a steam generator iron takes care of your garments ensuring that they remain in good shape for years to come. And despite being more demanding in terms of maintenance than a simpler iron, purchasing a steam iron can be a very good investment in the long run.
What Features to Compare
Power
A pretty straightforward parameter - the more powerful your device is the faster it works and the easier it will be to deal with big piles of clothes. However, with great power comes great responsibility and you’ll have to wield the more powerful appliances carefully so that you don’t damage your outfits. While a 2000-Watt iron will smooth wrinkles more efficiently than a 1000-Watt one, in fact, anything below a thousand should mostly be used as a travel model. Anything above two thousand is a good iron that will be sufficient even for a big family. Of course, you shouldn’t forget about the electricity expenses and, if you want to have a lower bill, consider getting a medium-power model.
Steam Output
You won’t need to make whole clouds of steam but larger garments need more output and if you have a big family, you should consider a more powerful iron. Plus, don’t forget to check the number of holes through which the steam is emitted. The more the better as it allows steam to spread and reduces moisture. Some models are equipped with multiple-stage boilers that also allow choosing between different steam output levels. With this feature, you will be able to iron several types of fabric in one go (including heavy garments).
Water Tank Capacity
The bigger water tank capacity is the less often you’ll have to refill an iron during ironing. This saves you time and is just overall more convenient. Of course, a bigger tank might also mean a larger appliance that might be tougher to handle.
Soleplate Coating
While most types of coating have their own advantages and should be chosen accordingly, there are some that we’d recommend over others. Depending on the material, the sole may glide easier, hold temperature better, and require lower or higher maintenance. One of the most popular coatings is stainless steel that smoothly glides on all clothes, is easy to clean and difficult to damage even after years of use. It does, however, get stained really fast and isn’t the most hygienic material out there. High-end irons often use ceramic soles which are more gentle and don’t damage the fabric. Plus, they slide like a knife into butter. But ceramic is easier to break and requires very careful treatment.
Extra Features
Make sure that the model you buy has some useful extra features such as a steaming function, calc away and lock systems. Don't fall for flashy extras meant to pad out the features list such as additional indicators or some sort of reinforced handle. The latter should be a simple soft grip type that will comfortable to hold for a long period of time.
There are some things that you should pay attention to, though. These options include additional means of maintenance such as various brushes that can make soleplate cleaning process much faster or water softening filters that can be attached to the water tank of the steam generator. The latter will be really helpful for dealing with calc that sooner or later will occur on the soleplate of your iron.
Did you know?
Appliances such as a clothes iron have become so commonplace that we barely ever pay any attention to them. However, the household device has a long and complicated history, which we’re going to dive into right now!
Everything Was Made in China
Way, way back in the first century, the journey towards a modern smoothing iron began. In China, where progress has always seemed to be surging ahead, boiling hot water was poured into metal pans which were then used to get rid of creases and smells in garments. Of course, this is far from the appliance we use today, but the method at its core is the same. The white-hot pan would warm clothing as well as smooth it, despite not being as advanced.
When in Rome
Some centuries later, Romans decided that an approach as refined as “warm water in a pan” was too basic for them. They want for a unique technique called “using metal hammers to hit clothes really hard until the creases are smoothed”. Pretty innovative stuff, really, though it failed to catch on in the modern times. It was, however, called a flat iron, largely because it was, indeed, flat and, most of the time, made of iron.
Variations on Perfection
Look, if we had the absolute wonder that was the Roman flat iron nowadays, society would have been unquestionably better. But, sadly, sometime in the fifteenth century or so, someone came up with an idea to make the device hollow and fill it with a heat source. Anything was acceptable, from burning coals to, you guessed it, boiling water. With that, people began to think that hitting clothes wasn’t the optimal approach and began to actually use the process of ironing.
In the seventeenth century, a gas iron was invented. It could be hooked up to the household’s gas line via a special pipe and, using a burner, heated itself up. Even gasoline was used sometimes, which would drive modern car owners mad.
As Close as It Gets
At the end of the seventeenth century, electricity became pretty common and available to households all over the world. And, in 1882, a plug-in iron was invented, the first electricity powered appliance of its kind. Of course, it was pretty basic with no temperature controls or any of the cool features we have now. In fact, it was actually heated on a special stand and both the heating and the cooling occurred gradually and somewhat slowly. One load of laundry would require several reheatings, which could take hours.
Two centuries later, the very first steam model was invented, finally reaching pretty close to the ones we use today. A journey this long is worth respect even if it was rocky and, occasionally, extremely strange. We went from hitting our clothes with rocks to heating up gasoline (do not try this at home) to using danger-free and ecologically friendly steam! So when you’re using your electrically powered steam generator iron, don’t lament how boring it is to smooth your outfits, remember that you could be sitting outside and smacking your jeans on a stone instead. We’ve got it good compared to those poor crazy Romans and their mallets.
How to:
FAQ:
Q: Could steam damage more delicate garments such as nightwear or underwear? Should I be worried about leaving them ruined after using this kind of device?
A: Most delicate fabrics actually benefit from a steam cleaning. For example, fluffing woolen outfits with steam erases wrinkles as well as gives them a fresher look. Just try not to touch the clothes, simply hover above the outfit with the sole. You’ll also see your silk clothes become good as new if you use just a bit of steam on them, as long as you remember not to use the iron directly. In fact, just as a rule of thumb, try to only apply steam to any delicate materials. Direct contact is not necessary for cleaning. Cottons and linens can be steam-cleaned as well if you want some really fresh bed sheets or need a crisp shirt for a job interview.
Q: Someone in my family is allergic, would steam ironing help at all?
A: Steam destroys bacteria and not just the kind that creates the odor on your clothes. It can eliminate dust mites and other undesirables that may contaminate the outfit. If you need a way to curb allergies, steam cleaning might actually be one of the easiest as well as the most affordable methods. Use steam on everyday clothes to destroy allergens and alleviate any reactions. That way you don’t have to resort to chemicals, which may be used during dry cleaning and trigger allergies. It’s safer and simpler!
Q: Is there a certain procedure to using steam on different clothing types? Where should I start and how much steam does a garment need?
A: Other than trying not to touch the fabric and steaming it from a distance, the procedure doesn’t have too many rules. What we could only add is that it's best to clean it from the top to the bottom methodically going through sleeves and cuffs. In case your garments have some sort of lining, it has to be steamed first and only then the outside of the outfit.
Q: Can I use special liquids instead of water? I have some perfume that I want to use in order to add some fragrance to my garments!
A: Adding anything but water to the tank can be extremely dangerous and could potentially ruin your appliance. While it may be tempting to experiment a little, we’d advise against resorting to any unusual fuel unless it’s specifically stated in the manual that this type of liquid can indeed be used. A steam generator is a pretty simple device and you don’t need to fill it with distilled or carbonated water so why bother experimenting on something that already works?
Q: Is it possible to use the steamer option as a drying method?
A: While steam is quite hot and can be used to clean garments, only high-end models provide pure steam while low-cost ones may have some moisture mixed in, which will leave your clothes a bit damp in spots. That would be easier to dry than a completely wet outfit but we only recommend resorting to such methods when you’ve run out of options. In fact, if the fabric is not too delicate, just use the basic ironing function instead, it will work just as well and save you time. We’d only advise steam-drying materials like silk or wool, which shouldn’t be ironed the standard way.
