About the Product
Roland’s new FA series completely reimagines the music workstation, streamlining it for effortless real-time power, ultra-fast workflow, and maximum versatility. Ready to support any type of music you play, the FA-08 features an 88-note weighted-action keyboard and comes packed with a massive sound collection inherited from the flagship INTEGRA-7, a ton of studio-quality effects, and expressive real-time controls, plus onboard sampling with zero load time for instant audio playback from the 16 backlit pads.
The Yamaha MOXF8 is better than ever! Yamaha fortified their popular MOX workstation with more great sounds and effects and even added a Flash board option slot. You get a massive arsenal of instrument voices including pianos, EPs, strings, winds, orchestral textures, guitars, basses, and drums, as well as a bevy of vintage and modern synth sounds. MOXF8 gives you Yamaha's expressive 88-key Graded Hammer Action keyboard, a potent MIDI controller with extensive DAW and VST control, a multichannel USB audio interface, robust sequencing, a plethora of arpeggiators, and a muscular software bundle.

What customers say about "Key Specs"
Roland FA-08 88-key Weighted-action Music Workstation
- Nicely weighted keys ( perhaps a little on the heavy side for some, but not really an issue ).
- The sounds are pretty spot on, and the keys feel great.
- The sounds are great, the pianos and strings are full and extremely life-like. I would highly recommend the FA-08 to anyone looking in that price range. It's a great value.
- The sounds are top notch and the Ivory G keys are very useable.
- The black keys are more sensitive than the white keys. This is a known issue which has never been fixed. When you play a chord or an arpeggio, the black keys are much louder than the white keys.
Yamaha MOXF8 Music Production Workstation
- Phenomenal! An absolutely amazing keyboard. Key action is a bit stiff compared to some weighted keyboards but I really like it, they have an almost ivory feel.
- The sounds are rich, full, fuzzy, tight, warm. Effects add so much but be prepared to spend a lot of time learning how to work everything. There are four manuals.
- The quality of the sound is out of this world. I cannot describe how perfect the voices are. It's like playing a $70,000 grand piano, then press two buttons and you're playing a $5,000 vintage organ, then play as an entire orchestra.
- Having lots of fun with this thing. Sound is excellent, weighted touch sensitive keys feel great.
- The key weight feels a little heavy and the dozens of buttons, settings, and menus are difficult to master, but you are getting a great instrument for the price!
- User interface is terribly non intuitive. It has so many buttons which are difficult to understand at a glance.
- The worst thing to me was fragile keys. After using 7 months, keys were getting loose and striking lower. Some of them are making mechanical noise. Authorized repair technician said that it happens all the time.

What customers say about "Size & Weight"
Roland FA-08 88-key Weighted-action Music Workstation
- Very nicely built. Plastics & perspex but solid as a German Tiger tank.
- Great, intuitive, functional design.
- The weight of the keyboard is comfortable.
- The build quality is solid, there is nothing cheap about it. From a purely aesthetic point of view, the Roland FA08 looks great, which includes cool attention to details.
Yamaha MOXF8 Music Production Workstation
- t is lightweight and I recommend a good grippy stand to prevent it from shaking too much as you jam on it, with that said, it is very solid and in no way seems flimsy or fragile.
- This keyboard is ultra-lightweight, packed with beautiful sounds from the Motif.
- Amazingly LIGHT! Great keyboard!
- Extremely lightweight and compact for the features and sound quality.
- I love the sounds, how light it is, and yet how real it feels to play.

What customers say about "Features"
Roland FA-08 88-key Weighted-action Music Workstation
- The interface does not take away from its roots and maintains a sufficient exposure of traditional push buttons and knobs that provides quick access to necessary functions.
- I like the 16 key Sampler pad and the smooth (as opposed to incremental) 6 global EQ turn knobs the alternate between 4 different modes (including a custom assign section).
- The LCD screen is far superior than the two competitors, which clearly displays relevant information but is not a touch-screen like the one offered in the Korg KROME and smaller.
- The sampler is a really awesome feature as you can record whatever you want into a pad quickly and easily.
- The ability to download sounds from the Axial site is a big plus!
Yamaha MOXF8 Music Production Workstation
- It also has DAW remote features which works perfectly with software like cubase or almost any other DAW.
- Great interface. For example, to transpose one step higher, just hit a button. No need to dig through menus on the LCD.
- I was concerned the screen would be too small, but after getting used to it I think it's good and easy to read with fair vision.
- The sounds on this bored are awesome. The keyboard operation is not unfortunately. The menus are hard to navigate and too many steps are required to do anything advanced.
