What customers say about "Key Specs"
Audio-Technica ATH-A1000Z Art Monitor Closed Back Dynamic Headphones
- Very wide soundstage and so music is giving me a sense of presence.
- Excellent mids and lows, a little bright sounding, but I enjoy that.
- There is excellent sound definition so you can clearly hear various instruments & the vocals are clear & natural.
- The stereo sound spread is good so it doesnt at all seem like you are listening to 2 separate sound sources.
- They leak a lot of sound in and out. They don't seem like other closed cans I have.
Audio-Technica ATH-A990Z Art Monitor Closed-Back Dynamic Headphones
- They had an amazing midrange, soundstage, and imaging.
- These headphones are fun and exciting sounding while still being very accurate and concise.
- The imaging and sound separation and soundstage is pretty good for this closed back headphone.
- I would say that the A990z has a massive sound stage and more high end. Bass is present and extended.
- They had absolutely no bass and highs that were very accurate but on the edge of being sibilant.

What customers say about "Size & Weight"
Audio-Technica ATH-A1000Z Art Monitor Closed Back Dynamic Headphones
- They look good, and are lighter weight than they look, which leads them to being very comfy.
- Very comfortable and light. Although its use outside the home is limited by size.
- It is the most important that the headphone does not bother you even if you wear it for a long time as it is extremely light!
- Full-size headphones, the cups of which are made in a lightweight, durable and rigid aluminum alloy case. Just an amazing quality product.
- I found them heavy and uncomfortable after listening for 2 hours on longer.
Audio-Technica ATH-A990Z Art Monitor Closed-Back Dynamic Headphones
- They are quite light and I find the clamp force absolutely perfect.
- This is a pretty large sized headphones, but this is worth for sound quality.
- The A990z are so lightweight that you can just use them for hours and hours and not feel and fatigue.
- My ears are not big and they fit uncomfortably tight for small headphones like this.
- These are large headphones and are not really designed to carry around.

What customers say about "Features"
Audio-Technica ATH-A1000Z Art Monitor Closed Back Dynamic Headphones
- The construction seems sturdy and the (good length) cable is fairly substantial so I'm hoping these will be durable.
- The assembly was performed with impeccable quality - not surprising, because this model is assembled only by hand and exclusively in Japan.
- The innovative design of the 3D Wing headband, consisting of soft “paws” that are easily adjustable in three planes, allows them to “sit” on the head as conveniently as possible.
- The cups are not collapsable, so the headphones are not as travel-friendly.
- Unfortunately, the wires are not detachable, that's to be honest the only complaint.
Audio-Technica ATH-A990Z Art Monitor Closed-Back Dynamic Headphones
- The pads themselves are quite comfortable and soft, made of high quality faux leather.
- If you know anything about AT's 3D wing system then you know that comfort might be a hit more miss.
- The 3d wing system works well with my head, amazing design.
- For me this is huge manufacturer mistake, the cable is not replaceable.
- The cord would be obnoxiously long for routine on the go use.
