What customers say about "Key Specs"
Petzl TIKKA Headlamp, 200 Lumens, Standard Lighting
- I use it for running and it has been a dream. Plenty bright, red light is great (uses more battery), and the glow is likely going to come in handyю
- Great, bright, headlamp, have used on Hiking trips on the Superior Hiking Trail, Canoe camping trips BWCA, and I have also used this in winter camps.
- The light is adjustable always aimed just where you want it. The controls are simple and easy to use.
- I love that you can adjust the angle of the light and the different settings which will be handy for the changing seasons.
- That red light is perfect for using star maps to study constellations and meteor storms. Having 3 brightness levels, including a very low one for reading in bed is also very thoughtful, and an improvement.
- Very disappointed. Used it once during early part of hunting season and it worked fine, then main white light stopped working completely. Only red light works now.
Black Diamond Spot Headlamp
- It's bright enough to run safely on a moderately groomed trail in the middle of the night
- Good spotlight mode that lights the way with seeing some of your perimeter without the small too-bright dancing spot effect of some headlamps.
- It's bright enough to light up a 200 sq.ft. yard at 2am in the Sonoran desert, and the spotlight is bright enough to clearly see what I'm scooping up that early.
- The large yellow spot in the middle of the light is terrible. I caught myself focusing on the yellow spot instead of the trail. This is almost a deal breaker for me.
- The light is a cool white light. I still need to pull out my old halogen flashlight to see tracks and most anything else other than easy to see trails. If you stay on well-worn hiking trails it is fine.

What customers say about "Size & Weight"
Petzl TIKKA Headlamp, 200 Lumens, Standard Lighting
- Newer head strap feel is welcoming, sits comfie and tightly, on my feminine sized head, the on off button function smooth and the light brightness is excellent!
- I got this model to replace it last December, and was very happy with the size/weight/brightness/functions.
- I like the weight of the headband and the fact that it takes rechargeable batteries.
- Light weight & comfortable. 3 brightness settings.
- Super comfortable, low profile, light weight, great for running in that it stays put and doesn't slip down or bounce around.
Black Diamond Spot Headlamp
- After all, its small with a nice form factor, its waterproof, and when its got fresh batteries, is quite bright.
- This headlight was working well for what i used it for until the pivoting arms that screw into the back battery door completely fell apart now i have a headlamp, a headband, and they can not be joined
- This unit is twice the price of those but well worth it to have a light that is comfortable and performs. Counting on it being durable as well, to be determined.
- The weight is right where it should be, and the headband keeps the light in place for hours on end comfortably.
- The plate behind the lamp is not very comfortable on the forehead. I was ready to take it off after about six miles and plan to add my own padding.

What customers say about "Features"
Petzl TIKKA Headlamp, 200 Lumens, Standard Lighting
- I like the weight of the headband and the fact that it takes rechargeable batteries. I use it for running and it has been a dream.
- The design allows for those of us who wear glasses to use the light without it reflecting in the back of the lenses- a problem with many headlamps.
- It's small, light, doesn't heat up, and comfortable, but it eats through AAA's quick.
- Great light -- but NOT powered by AA batteries as described, it uses AAA batteries.
- The light is good quality and light but is too small for my head. I wear 7 7/8 fitted hats.
Black Diamond Spot Headlamp
- It's secure. No bobbing or straps coming loose
- Controls are intuitive and easy to use (switching from spotlight to diffuse light, changing intensities)
- The control is a little weird getting to the setting I want but offset by the performance and comfort.
- Yes, the controls take a little getting used to. Very much like an iPad, two buttons control everything. Basically, there are six control inputs you can make with the buttons to control the light.
- Battery compartment isn't water-tight, not sure that's a problem. Might be for marine use.
