About the Product
You want to shoot better golf. And you want to take steps to improve your overall fitness and well-being. But you don’t want to wear or carry multiple devices to help you achieve those goals. That’s why our Approach X40 GPS golf band is the ideal all-in-one solution.
With Elevate™ wrist heart rate technology³, you can ditch the chest strap and measure heart rate from the wrist for all your sports except swimming, where optical heart rate isn’t available. Using heart rate data, vívoactive HR provides calories burned information and quantifies the intensity of your fitness activities, providing better credit for your efforts.

What customers say about "Key Specs"
Garmin Approach X40 GPS Golf Band - XL Black/Gray
  • The gps worked perfectly, keeping score is intuitive, and the Connect app provides a shot by shot recap complete with a view of each hole.
  • I've had Garmin and Samsung watches before. I needed a new golf GPS as my old one was not supported any more. Since my last watch was a Garmin, but not GPS.
  • As for golf GPS, it can take a few extra seconds to catch up to your location and it is usually accurate within a yard or two.
  • Great to have a fitness tracker and golf gps all in one. It's a little different than my previous Approach, but you get used to the additional functionality and the touch screen quickly and it has added features like distance to and thru hazards.
  • The unit tracks your path and your heart rate, and elevation. a Great surprise. The golf lots works great but does show that the 220 yd drive was only 180.
Garmin Vivoactive HR HR GPS Smart Watch, Regular fit - Black
  • The main features I was looking for were activity tracking, sleep tracking, wrist-based heart rate sensor, built-in GPS, and decent battery life.
  • It's a relatively reasonably priced waterproof GPS activity tracker that has more than a day's battery life to it and it features a heart rate monitor and altimeter for stair climbing.
  • Watch is nice. I like that I can change the face on it. Gps tracks where you run and overlays it on a map. Phone alerts show up on the watch which is useful.
  • Very accurate GPS (can easily tell which side of the street you're on)
  • The golf features and touchscreen were added bonuses. I golf a couple times a month during the warmer months of the year, and having a rangefinder on my wrist seemed pretty convenient.

What customers say about "Display"
Garmin Approach X40 GPS Golf Band - XL Black/Gray
  • The screen is easy to see, even in bright sunlight and when you're wearing sunglasses.
  • Accurate, good display, features such as text and phone alert all good.
  • Loves the slim look and the digital display is large enough to read.
  • Clear and easy to read display. Simple and straight forward features and UX. If the display can be dimmed, it would be perfect as it will save the battery usage.
  • Although the X40 has a screen backlight option, I don't think it's necessary. If you touch the screen in the dark, it'll briefly light up so you can see, for example, the time display.
Garmin Vivoactive HR HR GPS Smart Watch, Regular fit - Black
  • The screen doesn't even look close to the pictures. Colors are super washed out. Didn't expect it to look exactly like the picture. But, I hoped for better.
  • Screen is bright enough to read even outside on a sunny day.
  • The two buttons underneath the screen feel pretty solid. I did buy a screen protector for the glass, but I haven't put it on yet.
  • The sensitivity of the watch is very small. The touchscreen often won't work if your hands are sweaty.
  • 8 months in and the screen went completely haywire.

What customers say about "Features"
Garmin Approach X40 GPS Golf Band - XL Black/Gray
  • The heart rate function seems to work every bit as well as the Fitbit HR.
  • The Connect app syncs smoothly with the X40 and has lots of data view options. Recommend that you spend some quality time with the online manual.
  • Like it- better band than the viviosmart- the Golf GPS is useful and simple once you get it loaded. If you use GPS for a full round- and HR monitor battery life drops to 2 days max.
  • The notification feature is ok, particularly for messages and phone calls. The screen is just to small for news alerts.
  • Rest of the features, including synching wth iPhone, are very hard to figure out.
Garmin Vivoactive HR HR GPS Smart Watch, Regular fit - Black
  • The phone app is nice. I wish I could drill down, or flip my phone to landscape on some screens that I can not.
  • Battery life is pretty good as well. Mine will last about 4-5 days on a single charge. However the more you use the gps function the quicker he battery will drain.
  • Long battery life. I can easily get by for a week on one charge, however I do not use the GPS feature very frequently so I can't speak to the battery life for that.
  • Had no issues with water. I've worn it swimming and in the shower everyday for over a year.
  • The main features I was looking for were activity tracking, sleep tracking, wrist-based heart rate sensor, built-in GPS, and decent battery life.
