- The Garmin has all the courses preloaded, just picks them up automatically by searching the GPS area about 30-60 seconds after turning on the device.
- This is the best golf GPS I've ever owned. I'm very pleased with its functions & easy to read screen. It seamlessly transitions from one hole to the next.
- I have gone through 2 different Calloway golf GPS's Upro and the Upro MX, both were bad. The G8 is small but packs a lot of features.
- Best golf gps and thats my second my other was skycaddy. No way near this one.
- Very disappointed with this product. Gives false readings often. Can’t find a signal where other gps’s work fine .
- If this was the first golf GPS I used, I would be fine with it. But I feel my other Golf GPS is a much better system overall.
- This GPS works very well. Battery life is much better than the uPro I used to use.
- Gps sometimes slow to show true yardage. Sometimes it will take up to a minute to settle on actual yardage. Never had that problem with my original Garmin golf gps
- I love this GPS. I have a G5 and the G7. The G5 is larger but a few less features. I bought the G7 for when and if I broke the G5. The 7 has the "plays like" feature to account for up hill or down hill shots.
- The GPS "froze up" three times on the first few uses on the golf course. Only way to fix this was to restart it and reset it for the course hole.
- The display is bright and easily seen in daylight (cloudless sky)
- The display is big and bright and the holes display great.
- The display is bright enough in the sun, and I like the sliding target bullseye that follows your finger, rather than lying underneath it, so you can see where you're dragging it to.
- Love this new Garmin...nice screen display...cant go wrong with Garmin 2nd one I owned
- It's an ok product but not that great. Wish it was larger display too.
- I like the display especially in the sunlight. It gives me the distance and range I like.
- It is small compared the Sky Caddie SGX but the screen is sharper and easier to read.
- I have been using a Garmin G5 for many years and decided to update to the G7 for a brighter screen, faster satellite acquisition, and more compact size.
- The hole screen gives you an idea of layups, etc, but not with great precision, just grids. I run with Garmin devices and this can upload information to the Garmin website for you to analyze if you are motivated.
- Only downside is that the screen was a lot smaller than I thought it would be.
- Has some nice features such as the large numbers for distances to front back and center of green.
- I do love the features of this and especially the fact that you can see the entire hole, including water and bunkers and distances to each.
- Bought as a gift and receiver LOVES it. He uses it every time he heads to the golf course this season. Has enjoyed all the features it has as well.
- The G8 is small but packs a lot of features. I really like the fact that when I get to the course and turn it on it lists the courses near my location, with the course I'm standing on at the top of the list.
- Scorecard doesnt work: I bought this model for the scorecard feature, only to find it simply wont work on my home course.
- I wanted the feature that allowed me to mark points on a course and then have the distance to those points show on future rounds. This thing has a lot of bells and whistles that I do not use.
- I guess the best feature of the G7 was the electronic scorecard. It allows you to keep the scores of up to four players.
- The layup feature is nice, but it is a little too touchy to get it set the first time. I carry the GPS in my pocket and from getting bumped around in a golf cart, it sometimes has done a weird layup.
- Very nice. Like the club selection feature based upon previous yardages with each club.
- Would not spend the money to buy when other items are available with more features for less money.
