The backlight of the speaker system is synchronized with the image on the monitor, and thus displays the most similar colors - it visually expands the picture and significantly reduces the load on the vision. And of course, it looks very stylish and attractive.

CONS

Speaker cables are too thick (hard to hide).

OUR VERDICT

This speaker system is one of the most powerful in terms of audio power, because in combination with a subwoofer it is capable of issuing 120 watts (RMS). It is perfect for complete immersion in gameplay, and the DTS: X Ultra engine allows you to enjoy sound effects when watching movies.

Feel the Power

Hardcore gamers want their gaming PCs to be top notch, having only the best and highest quality components. This also includes any speakers that they have connected to their computer. Feeling each explosion and hearing great detail each small noise that happens in the game world is part of what can make a gaming experience so immersive. Of course, being able to live in this immersion requires the best gaming speakers that money can buy.

The Logitech G560 Lightsync PC Gaming Speakers help deliver the most immersive gaming experience possible thanks to the high-quality audio that the speakers produce. Featuring an explosive 240 watts of power, these gaming speakers produce high fidelity sound thanks to the unique driver design that gives the reproduced audio the most realistic sound possible. These speakers include the integrated DTS:X Ultra surround sound experience, which provides surround sound that almost literally places you right in the middle of the action, simulating sound coming from all angles, even from behind you. This is quite impressive considering that this is simply a 2.1 speaker setup without rear channels, but with this technology, you'll see that having two extra speakers simply isn't necessary.

Light Up Your Room

As much as gamers love having a powerful gaming computer setup, they also want their gaming gear to look as high tech as it actually is, and this without a doubt includes their gaming speakers. Fear not, for these speakers have the looks to match the power. The two desktop speakers both include lighting capabilities that are sure to make anyone green with envy. The speaker lighting includes 4 different lighting zones where light can be projected, thanks to the built-in LIGHTSYNC RGB lighting. You can customize the lighting to work in pretty much any way you want, and even have lighting change based on the game you are playing, with sound effects and music driving the lighting, which can all be set up through the Logitech Family Software application.

The speakers can be connected to your computer through one of three connection types: the standard 3.5mm audio jack, USB, or Bluetooth. In order to use the advanced lighting features, though, you will need to have a Bluetooth or USB connection, although this mostly goes without saying. Overall, these cool looking and high-quality gaming speakers from Logitech are among the best gaming speakers you can buy, and will look and work great with any gaming computer.

What customers say about this product

Size & Weight(4.7)

The speakers are a good compact size, though fairly weighty which conveys a sense of quality.

Audio(4.7)

The sound is crystal clear, the immersion when playing games or watching 5.1 channel movies is awesome!

Features(4.7)

The lighsync features are excellent and I always use screen sampling which is very immersive.

Fantastic 2.0 Setup

Some people tend to think that speakers that have only a 2.0 setup instead of having a separate woofer are inferior to 2.1 setups. In many cases, they are right, especially with computer speakers. There has been an unfortunate trend of computer speakers being made on the cheap, resulting in tinny sound and virtually unnoticeable bass. Even those that do tend to have some bass have more of a muffled sound to them, as the typical two speaker setup with computer speakers usually doesn't lend itself well to having rich bass.

The Razer Nommo Chroma Full Range 2.0 PC Gaming Speakers help to change all of that by providing a 2.0 speaker setup that has incredible bass. In fact, this total speaker package features incredible sound quality all around, which is hard to believe when you see the size of the speakers. These relatively small speakers feature custom 3-inch woven glass fiber drivers, which result in an incredible sound quality from such small speakers. The high trebles and rich bass of these speakers will make people start looking for a hidden woofer, and will lead to surprise when none is found. Simply put, these speakers are sure to surprise anyone with their superb clarity and rich sound.

Match Audio Settings to Each Game

The excellent sound quality of these PC gaming speakers is hardly the only feature they have. Along with these speakers comes the Razer Synapse program, which allows you to create unique sound profiles with a variety of settings to achieve optimal sound, based on your needs. You can also "tie" profiles to specific games, and they will be automatically activated at launch. This means that the different sound settings and equalization that each game has won't require you to manually adjust the speaker settings before playing, which is a huge boon to players who like having their game audio customized to just the right settings.

Along with the custom audio profiles, you also get the proprietary RGB Chroma lighting, which lets you customize the lighting on the speakers, and which can also even tie in with the lighting from other Razer products. The lighting effects are numerous, and definitely make these speakers look as good as they sound. About the only thing to note with these speakers is that they should be placed a good distance away from a wall, as the woofer on each speaker faces towards the rear. Other than that, these excellent gaming speakers are sure to please any gamer who wants high-quality sound without a separate subwoofer.

What customers say about this product

Audio(4.8)

The sound from these speakers is just absolutely amazing!

Features(4.5)

Lighting is bright enough and looks really sleek and beautiful.

Size & Weight(4.5)

It's nice and pretty design. And, it's is lighter than some of Razer's other offerings.

Powerful External Speakers

The Creative Labs GigaWorks T20 laptop speakers should probably be considered quite large, they make 9" in height, more than it is average for the class. However, if you are not really looking for the highest portability, this model has quite a bit to offer in exchange for the bulkiness. Besides, they are mostly just tall and don't require too much desk space compared to some other options.

First of all, as far as small (relatively) external speakers go, this model is really powerful. At 28W power, these speakers can emit sound at up to 80 dB, which is the maximum loudness that is considered safe for the human ear. So, they are loud. The frequency response here is between 50Hz and 20kHz, the top number being the maximum perceived by our ears but the bottom a bit higher than the minimum, meaning this model will struggle with very deep bass, which is of little surprise since deep bass needs way bigger drivers than compact laptop speakers can offer usually. However, there are little to no concerns we've found during our research that would indicate the GigaWorks T20 can't handle midbass. With the help of the BasXPort technology used here, you will have a decent midbass that is more than many of us expect from a set like this.

Versatile Design

Despite a somewhat bulk-ish design, the T20 external speakers from Creative Labs won't take up too much of your desk space. As we've mentioned before, the only above average size parameter here is the height. The base is quite average, 3.3" x 5.6" for each speaker. That's not too big. Besides, the tall black speakers with yellow drivers look stylish, sleek body complementing your laptop or any other tech you wish to use them with.

The connectivity options here are the industry standard ones: you will have a 3.5mm out for your headphones when you don't want to disturb your family and a 3.5mm AUX-in port for PC/laptop as well as gadgets like CD players if you fancy them. In addition to the speakers themselves, the supply will include a 6-ft stereo-to-stereo audio cable, a dual RCA-to-stereo audio TV adapter, and a power adapter, of course. The model has no built-in battery and can't be powered from the laptop via USB but that is to be expected since, with a size like this, it is primarily a desktop system of speakers.

The controls include a volume control knob as well as separate knobs for bass and treble so that you could adjust the sound to perfectly match your playlist and your tastes.

If you are looking for a highly adjustable powerful pair of laptop speakers and are not discouraged by a slightly bigger size, this might be your best bet.

Color with Sound

Having a great set of speakers that can completely fill your room with the sounds of whatever game is being played is a dream of many a gamer. Having such kinds of speakers helps bring the immersion into a game world that otherwise wouldn't be there. Of course, as gamers, we want our hardware to look as cool as possible along with its performance, so having speakers that both look and sound excellent is something we all want.

The Cyber Acoustics CA-SP34BT Bluetooth Speakers help bring immersion into whatever gaming world you are currently in. These powerful 2.1 speakers consist of two standing speakers with dual 2-inch drivers with aluminum finish speaker cones that replay all audio as realistically as possible, along with a subwoofer that delivers pounding, heart stopping bass. The two desktop speakers include LED lighting that encircles each speaker cone, allowing you to choose one of multiple colors, or to have them rotate through each color, delivering a stunning light show along with whatever audio is being played. The lights can even be set to synchronize with music or any other audio that is being played, giving you a visual representation to go along with the superb audio.

Complete Control

Unlike many other computer gaming speakers, these help give you complete control over how audio is being played. The physical controls are all located on the subwoofer, giving you a centralized location to find them rather than having to hunt around for them. These include knobs for controlling the overall volume, treble, and bass, along with buttons for controlling the lights as well as the input source. There is even a 3.5mm headphone jack that lets you plug in headphones for whenever you need to not disturb others in the same room or house.

The inputs for the speakers are also located on the subwoofer, including a 3.5mm aux input as well as RCA jacks, which means you can easily connect these to a television or stereo receiver. Along with these inputs, the speakers support connection via Bluetooth, which means you can connect your computer along with virtually any mobile device to these for wireless audio playback. About the only thing missing from these speakers is the option to connect them through USB, but the other provided inputs help make up for that. Despite this small drawback, this very affordable and cool looking gaming speaker system will both look and sound great in the room of any gamer.

What customers say about this product

Size & Weight(4.6)

They are great speakers for a decent sized get together with drinking games or just hanging out.

Audio(4.5)

Surprisingly good sound from the satellites - especially in the mid to high frequencies.

Features(4.4)

So right now I’ve just been checking out the Bluetooth feature. Sound louder and better quality.

Excellent Sound on a Budget

Not every gamer is rich enough to buy every high-end piece of hardware that they want. Those of us who game on a budget are always looking for great deals on hardware, trying to find the best price to performance ratio possible. The same applies to any gaming speakers that we want. Although we may not be able to afford the high-end models, we still want something that sounds great but is also affordable. Having something that looks cool is mostly just a bonus.

The Logitech Z323 Speaker System is a great set of gaming speakers for those of us on a budget. This 2.1 speaker system features two desktop speakers that are enclosed in a futuristic looking case that looks really nice on any desk, along with a subwoofer, delivering a total of 30 watts of audio power. Although these aren't the most powerful speakers by a longshot, you wouldn't know this by hearing them in action. The speakers deliver crystal clear audio along with deep, thumping bass that sounds like it comes from a sound system that costs at least twice as much. Along with that, you also get the Logitech 360 degree sound, giving you an immersive surround sound experience even with just a 2.1 speaker setup. In other words, these speakers sound fantastic for the cost.

Easy Controls

Many 2.1 speaker systems are often notoriously difficult to control, as the manufacturers love to hide the controls away on the subwoofer. Thankfully, Logitech understands these concerns and was able to put the volume control on the left speaker, giving easy access to it. There is also an LED light that is lit whenever the speakers are powered on, letting you easily check the status without having to peek underneath your desk. On the side of speaker are also inputs for headphones along with a 3.5mm aux jack so you can connect your mobile device to them.

Of course, not everything will fit on the satellite speakers. The back of the subwoofer contains a knob for controlling the bass volume, as well as RCA jacks for connecting your computer, TV, or stereo receiver, along with the ports for the left and right speakers. As this is a budget pair of speakers, it is missing some of the features that are to be found on much more expensive models, including USB and Bluetooth connections along with LED lighting. However, for those who want a great sounding pair of speakers first and foremost and can live without those extras, there are few other computer gaming speakers that can match these for their price.

What Are Gaming Speakers?

A serious gaming PC is one that is usually made of the best parts, specifically those geared towards enhancing the gaming experience, and having good gaming speakers is an important part of the entire setup. Despite the trend of gamers often focusing on graphics, the quality of sound in a game can affect the immersion in gameplay just as much as the graphics, and having a good set of gaming speakers is critical to this being the case.

There are tons of models of speakers available for computers nowadays, but there is still a small subset of models geared towards gaming. Of course, with a computer setup it can be difficult to have something like a 5 channel sound system, as most gaming PC setups are based on a desk where this is difficult to do, but having a 2.0 or 2.1 setup can be just as good. Most of the gaming speaker models that we review are one of these configurations, and are geared towards providing sharp, accurate trebles with a deep, rich bass sound. Not only do these speakers often work well for games, but they also shine when playing music or watching movies.

Sometimes a good pair of headphones is needed to compliment a good gaming sound system. If you need headphones for times when others in the same room need some quiet time, check out our reviews of the best over-ear headphones.

What Features to Compare

To the uninitiated, speakers may all appear to be the same, but to those who have a particular ear for audio quality, nothing could be further from the truth. With the wide range of computer speakers available, there are only a small subset that are geared towards enhancing the gaming experience. Furthermore, there is more to a good set of gaming speakers than just sound quality. Below are some of the most important characteristics to look for when trying to find the best gaming speakers.

Type

One of the most important factors to take into consideration is the type of speakers that you want. With gaming desktop speakers, there are usually two types - 2.0 and 2.1. The difference between these two types is that a 2.1 speaker setup includes a left and right speaker along with a separate bass woofer, whereas 2.0 speakers do not have a speaker subwoofer, instead integrating it into either one or both of the speaker units. Which type you prefer will come down to your own personal preference.

Power

Another factor to consider is the total power of the speakers. Speaker power is measured in watts, and those that have more watts tend to be more powerful. Of course, for desktop speakers having the most powerful ones isn't necessarily needed for most people, but those that desire powerful speakers will certainly want to keep this in mind.

Connection

A critical concern of any gaming speakers is the type of connection that they use. Just a few years ago, almost all computer speakers were limited to connecting through a standard 3.5mm audio jack, but today, there are plenty of other options, including Bluetooth and USB connections. Those who want gaming speakers for a laptop may particularly want to look for ones that include Bluetooth, as this won't require a physical connection to be unplugged whenever you take the laptop with you. Those that connect through Bluetooth and USB may have some extra options available that aren't compatible with a 3.5mm connection.

Extras

Last but not least, any extras included with the speakers will be of interest to any gamer. Many of these extras will often include lighting options and equalizer controls, with some speakers supporting specific sound profiles on the computer. The sound profiles may be of particular interest to certain gamers, as many of these support specific sound setups for individual games. If you want any of these extras, make sure that the speakers you choose support them.

Components of a Great Gaming System

Those of us who spend a good portion of our lives gaming on our PCs know that it takes much more than just a great pair of gaming speakers to make a computer great for gaming. There is a lot of different hardware that needs to be assembled and installed, and along with that, it can often cost a lot of money to get a system that plays games the way we want it to. Gamers tend to be a picky bunch, so it is essential for us to find the right gaming hardware in order to give ourselves the best gaming experience possible. So, what other components are needed for a gaming system? Below are some of the main things to look for when putting one together.

Monitor

A great gaming computer is nothing without a monitor that can display games the way we want them to. A long time ago, big, bulky CRT monitors were all we had to work with, but nowadays we have much larger and thinner LCD-based monitors. On top of that, many of the monitors that are available just aren't optimized for gaming, providing refresh rates and color reproduction that just isn't suitable for playing games. Finding a great gaming monitor is a very important part of putting together a complete gaming PC.

Graphics Card

Any true PC gamer knows that a great graphics card is one of the most essential parts of any gaming computer. Many computers tend to come without dedicated graphics card, often relying on the integrated graphics capabilities of the motherboard or processor. This is fine for basic work tasks and even playing simple casual games, but it is simply unsuitable for hardcore gaming. Finding a great gaming graphics card based on the NVIDIA GeForce or AMD Radeon architecture is a must for any gamer.

Sound Card

Most computers nowadays come with integrated sound cards built-in to the motherboard. While this works fine for basic audio such as music playback, then often fall short when it comes to gaming. A dedicated sound card can provide capabilities that really enhance the immersion in a gaming world by providing features beyond what most integrated sound cards can offer. If your gaming computer is just plodding along with integrated sound, then you might want to install a good sound card to enhance your gaming experience.

Mouse

Although many people tend to not think of it at first, having a good mouse is an integral part of any gaming experience. Computer mice are a dime a dozen nowadays, but the vast majority of them are just not suitable for gaming. Having a great gaming mouse with a high input resolution, responsive controls, and programmable buttons can help give gamers an edge in any game that they play.

Keyboard

Just as with having a good gaming mouse, having a great gaming keyboard can also mean the difference between life and death for any gamer. Unlike regular keyboards, gaming keyboards are optimized for the tasks that are important to gamers, and features such things and programmable keys, extremely responsive key switches, and in some cases even custom lighting, along with many other options.
