What customers say about "Key Specs"
Magellan Cyclo 505 GPS Computer
- Every thing works great including the route directions. I load GPX files from Ride With GPS, they have a document on what to do, and all is well.
- n general, having a nice bike computer with GPS has improved my biking because I am now aware of stuff and more competitive with myself.
- The unit seems fairly accurate, based on what I know about my ride from using other GPS units.
- Excellent bike computer/gps. I very highly recommend it.
- I really wanted this cycling GPS computer to work as advertised. I really like the size, the operation and color touch screen, but the touch screen was sluggish at times and I could never get the speed and cadence sensors to work.
Garmin Edge 1000-1 Color Touchscreen GPS
- Device does everything thing that you expect from a Garmin with a great display, speed and intuitive navigation.
- The best large GPS bike computer. User interface is due for an update but this computer still cannot be beat. Easy to pair with accessories like power meter, phone, etc.
- The additional support for Bluetooth connectivity to your cellphone, built-in Wi-Fi and LiveTrack makes this everything you need.
- Superb, that thing detects everything possible, great device.
- I can't get an accurate heart rate, the screen freezes too often and I missed the return date by a day.

What customers say about "Display"
Magellan Cyclo 505 GPS Computer
- Clear, bright screen. Easily readable in bright sunlight.
- I liked the fact that the display is large enough that I could read the on screen data while riding.
- Your dashboard screen is customizable showing only the info you want.
- Screen resolution, reading the map is tough, first the screen is only 3", and the disply is reminiscent of the original GPS devices for cars, cartoon like, and difficult to see alternative routes
- I really like the size, the operation and color touch screen, but the touch screen was sluggish at times and I could never get the speed and cadence sensors to work.
Garmin Edge 1000-1 Color Touchscreen GPS
- Coupled with the brilliant display and large screen size, the outer design characteristics of the Edge 1000 is far superior to other models.
- The display was easy to see, it alerts you when turns are coming up and counts down the distance to the turn.
- If you're using it to display data it's great. The high resolution improves the display more than I expected from the 800/810 series.
- At first glance at the Edge 1000, its screen size is quite impressive!
- The screen is very easy to see and read in midday sun and the screen size makes it easy to put a lot of data up or less with huge fonts.

What customers say about "Features"
Magellan Cyclo 505 GPS Computer
- The 'Surprise Me' and route guidance sound like great features, but I haven't tried any of them, yet. Look for an update in a few weeks once I can get out on them.
- One of its most appealing features was the use of OSM - open street maps - data, which keep being refined and expanded by users worldwide, with great specialty maps like cycle paths.
- I love the three random route feature. Really like everything about it except the fact that its intergration with most popular apps is lacking.
- It has an altimeter so it accurately records trails plus you can use it in the car the garmin didn't have this feature.
- POIs there is a POI feature but it is seriously out of date, three years or more. Could not figure out how to update
Garmin Edge 1000-1 Color Touchscreen GPS
- The additional features such as the route mapping allows you to create routes based on your pre-determined distance. This is helpful when you are riding in an area you are not familiar with.
- This is an amazing instrument for a cyclist. I have entered several courses into it, and it guides me exactly where I need to go.
- Another great feature that Garmin has added to the Edge 1000 is the fact that the unit comes pre-loaded with detailed street maps and can plan routes on the fly.
- The stupid Virtual Partner can't be turned off, and as a result, it spends much more battery.
- Still have lots of Bluetooth dropout issues with my edge and smartphone.

What customers say about "Battery"
Magellan Cyclo 505 GPS Computer
- Only used it for one 24 mile ride, and battery power held up well
- Battery lasts quite sometime but I have not yet did a century with it yet.
- The battery life was not good enough for century rides
- I was even willing to live with having to charge the unit daily due the battery not lasting a full day.
- On the same 160 mile ride I forgot the charger and it made it through about 10 hours. Lost data for the last part of my ride.
Garmin Edge 1000-1 Color Touchscreen GPS
- The battery life is shorter than the 800 but still plenty for a very, very long day of riding.
- Battery life didn't seem like it would hardly ever be an issue.
- Battery doesn't last an all day ride. Very disappointing.
- I like everything about this device except for the poor battery life.
- Unfortunately, the battery life is terrible. I only get 6-7 hours before the unit dies.
