- I am happy to say I can also monitor my speed, distance, cadence, heart rate, calories, time, et cetera even while stationary.
- I have been using Garmin GPS units for years, on the trail, road, on foot, and while driving. This one is the best yet in every respect.
- It's easy to set up, has multiple display settings to customize how you see your workout or current location.
- The device itself is really nice, it works flawlessly after you get used to the menus and operating it.
- Easy to use, quick in calculating routes, very accurate.
- I have already used it in two MTB races and it has been very accurate.
- It is accurate, easy to use and read. I love it!
- So far this thing is awesome. Really enjoy the gps and cadence program.
- Great bike computer. Easy to use and provides all the info you could need.
- With the cadence sensor adds a new level of indispensible information to your biking.
- Backlight / Crip display - Very good illumination.
- Screen - Legible, precise, looks great - beautiful full color maps.
- Essentially, you can put on the screen virtually whatever you want and wherever you want it, and the screen is high resolution (as is required, to be sure, for detailed maps).
- The display is programmable and is bright and easily readible. The battery life is as advertised.
- The screen is easy enough to read in bright sunlight.
- The display is decent size, but not "iphone" quality.
- Screen has great viewing in light and dark. Great value for the price!
- There is not a lot of glare in the sun and it lights enough in the dark to read normally.
- The maps are very helpful when you are ridding a course. Also the touch screen is very handy.
- The touch screen is surprisingly easy to use in the cold/wet & bright sunlight.
- You don't have to have a GPS signal and be moving for this cycling computer to read your speed.
- The heart rate monitor strap is perfectly comfortable. I haven't felt the need to get the 'comfort' strap instead. I have a 44 inch chest, and have no problem with fit.
- When I get home from a ride, I upload the data into the Garmin Training Center software, and I can compare every aspect of the ride to previous rides
- Cadence monitor, speed monitor installed quickly and have worked flawlessly; I have several heart rate chest straps and the HR monitor recognizes all of them.
- All the components work great and pulling that into their training software is useful.
- It has worked great both inside on a trainer and outdoors. Picks up location very quickly and connected easily to my Wahoo HRM, cadence and speed sensors.
- The graphic depiction showing changes in elevation was a nice touch as well when reviewing our effort at the end of the day.
- The edge 800 is exactly what I need - interactive, lots of data to geek out over but that I don't really need, separate bike profiles, and easily programmed gps navigation.
- The customizable screens are great and it's nice to know its not all in my head when I think it feels way colder than it is (like weather.com said).
- he ability to upload routes is a feature I found very handy this past week as I was able to have the route set to take us directly to our camp sites at the end of each day.
- I've have several Garmin devices including: Forerunner 201, 205, 305, eTrex, 60sx but the 705 brings it all together in a small package with a looooooong battery life.
- After over a year of solid use, I still get 12+ hours continuous (without backlight).
- It charges now in a few of hours and has good battery life. (Sorry, I have not run it down for endurance.)
- The battery life is very long (about 15 hours)! I left it on overnight and woke up to it still running.
- Battery life is good enough for a very long ride - I suspect easily over 10 hours
- I do RAGBRAI every year and this was so great to have! The battery lasts about 12 hrs of running it straight through.
- The battery life is also great, using it for up to 12 hours per day, with at least 20% battery remaining at the end of each day. Charges quickly too.
- Had mine for couple years now battery life is amazing over 100 miles 45% etc best computer device on the market :)
- Battery life even with the backlight permanently on is very good. I lose about 15%-20% charge after a 90min ride with the backlight fully on.
- The battery seems to be amazing, i've never run out and on a 3% charge i've managed to get it to run for 1hour with the screen on lowest setting, just to track my ride.
