It is light enough to carry walking to the studio, yet still feels nice and robust during practice!
Great light weight, wonderful quality, superb mat!
I love that the Grp is as big as the Pro, and nearly as thick, while being 3 lbs. lighter. It also doesn't have a break-in period like the Pro.
I do like that this mat is lighter than the PRO which is not the best mat to haul back and forth (due to weight).
This mat is very thick and heavy. Mat also come with a very strong smell.

Manduka PRO Yoga Mat

This is one heavy-duty solid mat. It looks tough. It feels tough. It is tough.
I am 6'1", and most mats are too short for me. The Manduka Pro 85" mat was very slippery from me sweating when I first started using it.
I found out about Manduka mats from my Fitness studio, where they let you borrow Manduka mats for Yoga classes.
The size allows you room to stay safe.
I appreciate the thickness and overall size of this mat, but despite repeated "seasonings" with salt per the instructions and many YouTube videos you might watch, if you sweat, you will slip--even doing the most basic yoga postures like downward facing dog.

It's amazing and such a relief to be able to just focus on form without worrying about slipping.
I sweat like crazy during hot yoga and usually end up like Bambi on the ice by the time class is nearing the end. BUT not with this mat!
No towel, no slips. Just a lot of sweat and me. It's been wonderful.
I am so pleased with the mat. No slipping! Highly recommend!
I find the texture pretty slick before it gets wet, so I don’t recommend this for non heated classes.

Manduka PRO Yoga Mat

I feel like this mat will last a very long time being of close cell material.
The mat is quality materials and is heavy. It just doesn't move and I feel confident that I can concentrate on my workout.
It's very sturdy, and made from a heavyweight material. I think after some effort of breaking it in, it will become my favorite mat.
It took about 10 uses to break in and get used to the material, but now I love it more than any mat I've ever used.
I don't know if the style, material, etc. was changed, discontinued, or something else but this mat is HORRIBLE and extremely UNSAFE!!!
